Controller user woes. Please tell me I'm not alone.

I have my controller sensitivity set to 7 and have no issues. I am using garbage tires in game so yes things are a little more twitchy, but I assume from those since I am used to racing softs. I'm thinking it is just the car you are using doesn't have a good tune so it is going a little crazier then you were expecting

I just managed 13th place on the seasonal time trials using a controller.

Sometimes I use my controller on GT6 rather than my G25 because I cannot be bothered to set it up. Also im used to a controller having played alot of Forza. Personally I find the controller works well with GT6, much better than GT5.

I prefer the XB360 style by far, over the DS3.
Does that controller come in wireless?

On the steering sensitivity front, I'm finding I have to adjust the sensitivity to some cars, or incur a somewhat lengthy learning curve to adapt.

Sorry, No Wireless Unfortunately! Power A has a few lower tier versions of that controller but I hear the analog sticks have deadzone issues? and the triggers are close on the other versions of but not an exact 360 ripoff(more of button than a trigger ala the standard DS3).

I am using DS2 ( PS2 ) stick with USB adapter, the best stick controller IMO, 3 times more pressure to reach full input on face buttons, I use cross for gas and square for brake, no ABS with high BB around 9/3 for most cars. I set sensitivity at around +2 or +3, this works great as I often drove high power car with comfort medium tires. Golded all Goodwood event with the stick and no abs, tc, asm, even the red bull :) Also set R2 as secondary brake for left foot braking.

I agree, add the fact that the ds3 thumb sticks are absolute garbage.
Coming back to ps3 after playing on the 360 for 2 years made me realize I'll be using a wheel with GT6.

I played GT4 with the DS2 but then moved to Forza and after having used the 360 controller the DS2 or 3 was not an option. Bought a wheel for GT5 and would not even consider using a controller now

I would think setting the sensitivity higher may help as others have mentioned. It definitely seems to help with the wheel

This is odd... As I have a CSRE and have yet to pull out my chassis as I've been having a fun time with the controller...

But to be fair, I've been quite lazy too...

Sensitivity is at -2. Higher sensitivity makes it terribly twitchy.

OP and anyone using less than 6 sensitivity is not doing it right and they must be horrible drivers.

How do you control your cars with such a massive delay in being able to switch direction of your wheels? At -2 sensitivity it takes almost 2-3 seconds to change direction from one side to another. How are you supposed to respond to events that need steering corrections in 100ms or less? You cant. I find using 5 sensitivity or less means I cannot counter steer fast enough. No wonder you guys think the car is twitchy if your control inputs are as fast as a Cruise ship.

Heck on -2 you cant even change direction fast to make some S bends even if nothing goes wrong and your drive perfectly.

Try the X1 on a small circuit at -2 to see what I mean. Its impossible to make some corners.

I ended up at 7 for controller and 6 for my wheel actually.. a few days after the game came out I did some thorough testing and realized that I could feel a huge delay, especially when trying to correct a slide or drift, and anything under the above settings.

Not sure if my DS3 is broken but does anyone here when pressing the PS button the game selects the "X" button all by itself?

DS3 was killing my hands after a few hours of play on the PS3, playing a number of games on the XBOX ergonomics felt much better after looking around I found the XCM Cross Battle 2.1 which allows the Wireless XBOX 360 controller to be connected to the PS3 in addition to the XCM you need a XBOX 360 receiver.

Personally I not had to adjust any of the sensitivity settings and play with all aids off, though some of the higher powered cars give a bit of a challenge.
