I think these two are pretty cool.

Amateur Translplants - Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin

Roo
The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist

I remember that song, it had one of the strangest videos ever and those two old guys singing. :dopey:

Royksopp- What Else is There?

The Thin White Duke (TWD) Remix is even better.

Damn I'm proud, I've heard a lot of these. I've heard the Architecture song (their songs It's 5! and Wishbone are a good laugh), You Sping me Right Round, a couple RJD2 songs (Through the Walls=good song), Frontier Psych., Royksopp.

All of my friends consider me the king of obscure rock and pop music. Tell me if anyone has heard any of these.

Arrogant Worms - The War of 1812
Go Sailor - Together Forever in Love
Authority Zero - Mexican Radio (some may have heard this, best cover ever)
Boney M - Rasputin
Eels - Last Stop This Town
Erasure - Send Me an Angel
Morningwood - Nth Degree
The Pogues - Bottle of Smoke
Planet Smashers - Super Orgy Porno Party (Montreal represent)

Anything by Junkie XL. That music is phat as hell.

Also, Soul Coughing is pretty alright. It takes some getting used to, but it's cool if you give 'em a chance.

The Flys (spelled correctly) are friggin awesome.

So is Nirvana. Definately Nirvana.

Nirvana eh... I like a bunch of it, but then again, there's also a lot of music out there that is similar and better.

I'm not taking away anything from 'em, they were a great band, I have the utmost respect for them. Also to play, Nirvana isn't so much fun to jam with.

Deftones - Rx Queen
Tragically Hip - Wheat Kings
Tragically Hip - Opiated

I think only Canadians would know the last 2

Hooters - "Karla with a K" and "One way home"...

They never got the success they deserved...

Guys. Read the thread title.

Go read it again.

See the "not many people know about" bit?

Why are you nominating two of the best-known bands of the last 15 years in a thread that's about songs "not many people know about"?

Has anyone heard of Explosions in the Sky? They're really good mellow instrumental music. I think they did most of the soundtrack for "Friday Night Lights". "Your Hand in Mine" is a very good song.

Super Furry Animals - It's Not the End of the World
Super Furry Animals - Lazer Beam
The Futureheads - Le Garage
Grandaddy - Now It's On

Well, not many people my age seem to know it anyway.....

Boston - More Than a Feeling

Loads of people can recognise the riff, but not the song or the band.

Super Furry Animals - Lazer Beam
The Futureheads - Le Garage
Grandaddy - Now It's On

Grandaddy - "Crystal Lake" is a better song, but not by much! :D

I love Grandaddy. They were struggling to be a band back when I was, and I often saw them around.
