I'm so gutted. I was almost in tears when I started to lag in the second race haha. I was minding my own business trying to keep up with jimmy then Godfrey literally appeared out of nowhere behind me, which I thought was odd. Then kickstart overtook me, but then he 'crashed' at the next corner, then started jumping about, at which time I quit so I didn't ruin anyone's race :( Nevermind, it was fun whilst it lasted!
 
Yhea I had a very quick pace on you at the start brad, I do remember following you, but completely forgot what else happened in the first half of that race.
 
Yea I got lagged out and d/c which made me mad! I agree with shortening the series, will see what happens.

We are going to start putting together a GT3 series with evenly matched cars, and performance matching criteria like ILMC run. We won't be cancelling BTCC by any means but everyone who is in this championship will get first refusal for GT3.
 
Well i know my car for the GT3 series :) also had a good night apart from sweaty brake fingers lol
 
Yeah already found my machine too.

Just set a beautiful lap around the Nurburgring of : 7:00.086, within restrictions of 550 bhp.
 
That's a nice lap, but damn, don't you guys have to go a work!!?

GT3 sounds good so I'm in, I'm also in favour of shortening the BTCC series, maybe 3 more tracks? (GVE needs to stay tho!)

I think 12 rounds in total is a decent amount......
 
I had a great 1st race yesterday. Epic battle with Knight-Spirit. It's a great replay to watch. 👍

In 2nd race crazy lag during 1st lap and to much dangerous driving. I was tired of hiting mcglone after his close encounters with the wall so decided to pit really early at lap 5, and managed to do undercut on quite a few guys. Managed to slot in the middle of team Mazdaspeed but after a few laps battling them my tires were gone. Almost catch up to jimmy on the last lap. I felt like Senna in is first outing in Monaco. If only the race had a few more laps. ;)
 
can't say I had a brilliant night's racing. Enjoyed the first race, had a couple of good battles, and then a good view of kamy and knight's battle, so that was pretty fun, was quite disappointed with the 2nd race though, entirely my own fault, I just didn't seem to have the pace to stick with the guys around me. I seemed to suffer from quite a bit of understeer as well, so sorry if that caused anyone any problems.
I quite like the idea of a gt3 championship. As much fun as the btcc series is, I'm quite up for something involving more power and rwd lol. Going to spend the next few days trying some different cars out and go from there!

I think now we're past monaco everyone will enjoy the series again now :D
But yes I'm definatly in for GT3, maybe 3-man teams? :D

Hopefully!, Monaco in BTCC not quote as glamorous as in F1!

Thanks for that tune tho, helped my tires quite abit tbh (still came last but it was more drivable than my normal tune!)


RE 3 man teams think we'll need to wait on numbers! (plus we need to finish BTCC before planning ahead!)
 
just thinking aloud here, had an idea for the gt3 championship, and I can't decide whether it would work or not.
Basically, what I'm thinking is each team has 2 or 3 drivers, each in identical cars. at the start of the race, 1 driver for each team starts the race normally, whereas all other drivers cruise round to the pits and, once there, press start so you stay there. you could then effectively have driver changes throughout the race, which would be kinda cool. It would take a bit of working out after each race, but could work quite well. might be better suited to a proper endurance series though.
 
that would be too much hard work to figure out who's where lol. Also if anyone's interested in teaming up just say? this is hopefully 1 series I WILL dominate haha

My car of choice will be the Mclaren MP4-12C
 
i'll buy one tonight and see how i get on with it, if i like it you fancy continuing our btcc partnership? (read me trying and failing to keep up with you lol)
 
haha your ahead of me in the points!! erm yeah man i'll see if i can get on and jot down my set up for you and ill pm you it on here :).. It's a fast car and only runs around 510ish hp :) no where near the power of the cars i was up against last night! Oh they got smoked btw lol

Worst race going. The 1st race i got smashed into the wall at the start fell behind then got taken out by someone. Then it happened again and i lost 3 places. I was soo pissed!

I understand everyone is racing and we are all pushing hard, but bloody hell know your braking points. I'm seriously tired of getting hit because im playing it cool but someone else is pushing far beyond the limit.

Time for the next races.

it has full mods but is restricted right down. you can put it up to 550 if you like but i feel it's overpowered like that
 
I am over the moon to be past Monaco, it was a nightmare for me, with my usual lag to spice up the race for everybody else, and the lack of grip giving me a constant battle with wheelspin in lower gears, so I am delighted to see the back of it :D

I already have my GT3 car lined up rocking 550bhp, and about 1300kg to match HMS' Merc SLS, hopefully something can be done there, because that is max 200kg ballast that I could add on, and I would be happier to loose at least 1/4 to 1/2 of that!!

For the few of you that hung about ( i think it was more just HMS at this stage) Grace had a brilliant time driving round GVE in my GT3 car (ferrari 430 Scuderia) and for somebody that has only played GT, literally 4times now, she was averaging around 1:25 - 1:27 round there with no assists :) Bravo to her, she later went onto to lap the 'Ring (one of her fave tracks ever) in the Academy GTR (with Driving Line on, ASM, Skid Recovery Force on) and still managed a 8:09 lap, which is bloody respectable in my eyes, as she has only driven it twice before!! I will get her hooked I swear!! :P

Other than that, the night was a great laugh, didnt see bed until lunch time today!!! :O Me, Grace, and JDMSupra (Jesse) - HMS' friend who drifts were up all night chatting, racing, drifting (or at least trying to on my part haha), he got a right bo**ocking for waking his dad up at 5am (his time - 10am here) for chatting and racing away haha, but all was good, and a proper sound out bloke too might I add. Oh yeah, forgot to add, I was back up at 3:30 this afternoon to start my day haha, after 24hrs up straight....... No problems with me having the ability to stay up for a 24hr race at Le Mans some time soon :) ..........

Looking forward to the next BTCC rounds at GVE, I am happy enough with the Ford Racing Developments Focus, with only a minor bit of tweaking really needed to get us a little bit more competetive :D

Everybody picking there cars already!?

Well not sure of the full entry list but I'm either going for the DB9 or the SP1 (only problem is the Aston is around 200kgs heavier Than some of the other cars)

I've gone faster in other cars but I like the look of these :)

430 Scud Is my fave, loose but very fast!, probably for one of the better drivers tho, will try it with my SP1 tune tho as I have that pretty sweet at the moment :D
 
All this talk about GT 3... Shouldn't you be focused on BTCC and improving car setup and feel?? ;)
