yes.. everyone submits there car information.. then you set regs on the track for the heaviest car and work your way down until everyone is on track. If anyone leaves the track in this period they forfeit the race. SIMPLE

The 600bhp does work but that is now pushing GT1 spec. I'm still standing by official GT3 specs circa 500bhp

Knight Spirit
How?
If you have 10+ cars, all on different power/weight how do you make sure people are sticking to them?

You have to trust people like we do with BTCC ballast. I really like the way the other series has been done, was reading their thread last night and it seems they are evenly matched.

Also I had to max out the Aston last night just to be able to keep up so performance balancing gets my vote

Like i've said i'm in either way.

I would like to think people wouldnt abuse the regs so having different weights and power based on the agreed spec would get my vote, I enjoy racing with you guys as its pretty even. I get why having a set power and weight restiction would be an option as that way we all know were even but it takes away from the cars if you have to add aload of weight to the lighter cars to bring them up to spec.

I'm not in these to win (once would be nice! lol) i'm in because its fun! :D

To be honest why would someone cheat? I know people do, just makes them sad really. I'm all about having some good battles. And i like to see them amazing big battles go down that some rarely see, you know.

We've been trying 2.60 Power to weight ratio and it's VERY balanced, and I'll be very surprised if any cars don't find a way to match it.

Jimmy, mcglone & I did some testing with new regs tonight and its VERY close. We had SLS, 458 and Ford GT, did 3 lap race and there was nothing in it. The 2.60 rule works!

Also gonna start a gt3 thread as we are cluttering btcc

4am!?

S**t you boys had a late one!

Me and Mcg did some running aswell and unfortunately it looks like the DB9 just isn't gonna cut it :(

Agree the GT and 458 seem to be pretty close (also mcg's track selection put me at a disadvantage most times! lol)

Looking forward to the GT3 thread so we can start to put things into place tho :D

Sorry I was half asleep, yea what I meant is that the 2.60 rule works.

Also if anyone has motors tv on sky / virgin FIA GT3 is currently live from Paul Ricard

Great racing last night and early morning. Aston lacks a lot of downforce but that doesn't say it's out the race done a few tests with Jaguar and it's very similar to it. Right now im testing the R8 , Lambo and Z4.

Anyone up for a GT3 session tonight? Around 7-8 pm.

So...
Anyone been testing for tomorrow or now is just GT3. ;)
I did a quick test:
- Car felt like a tank after some days without driving a FF car with this power
- Tires seem to hold for at least 8/9 laps so I think I wont suffer from tire wear. Did 8 laps in second 06, and then almost spun and tires were gone.

Looking forward for tomorrow.

8 or 9 laps? Quite good then I reckon, mines more around the 7 lap mark so I'm gonna have to take it steady towards the end of my stint.

Looking forward to it tho :D

I haven't taken a front wheel drive car round GVE for absolutely ages. Guess what I'm going to be doing all day tomorrow haha! I do have a half excuse though, seeing as the WTCC was just down the road from me today. So I went along, armed with a ****** camera and got a few photos:

Yvan Muller's spare car:

James Thompson's Volvo C30, which I gather is his STCC car.

Complete with ridiculous rear camber.

There was honestly no more than 2 inches of contact patch.

The PoleStar C30, made famous by Top Gear.

This nice Scirroco was on the KW Suspension stand.

This is the single best bit of parking I've ever seen in my life. The rotors were literally feet away for the building in the background, and probably 10 feet from the hedge I was standing against.

And finally, the team mate to US GT Acedemy winner Bryan Heitkotter racing a 370Z in the Production Car Championship. This was just about the only half decent shot I got of cars on track unfortunately.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. I'll probably be on later testing GT3 or practicing BTCC :)

Great pics.
They were in my city a couple of weeks ago too. I don't think thats Muller's reserve car. More like a team reserve car. Notice it doesn't have any country flags on mirrors and top and no drivers name. It has the #1 indeed but thats probably show off. ;)
I have some pics too but too lazy to post them. lol

brad, those are great pics, some proper camber on the Volvo too!!

Hopefully we will get a small bit of track time in tomorrow evening together before the races to discuss our plan of attack haha :P My Focus is feeling unloved, and undriven since last Monday haha :P
