Someone said in the lobby Hevy damage was bad.
I say it isn't, as long people are calm and realize there is more than 1 lap.
that's exactly the problem though, hardly anyone seems to be thinking like that. plus, like priesty said, there's been too many occaisions where someone makes an innocent mistake that can end up ruining several people's races. like i said in the lobby, and i'll stand by this comment, heavy damage is ruining this series for me. I don't think I'm alone in saying I've had more than 1 race wrecked as a result of damage gained through no fault of my own, usually on the first lap. I joined this series because it seemed like a bit of a laugh, but the last few rounds I've just been struggling to get any enjoyment from it, and usually leave the room frustrated and disappointed.
I dunno, maybe I'm taking it too seriously.

I keep thinking i'm taking it too serious, but when you keep getting taken out you start thinking what's the point in continuing the series....

I know what you mean KS. I'd like to possibly ask if james will consider a re-run of tonight?

If anything i'm up for a restart.

The seccond race was beautiful on all sides from what I heard, with close battles throughout the grid, including a 16 lap battle for first between me and Kotkas, managing to stay neck and neck, even during pitting on different laps, crossing the line with less than 0:00.060 between us! Then followed Kamy, and then Nate + Mcglone, with nate managing to take the 4th position by a thousandth of a second! Just amazing.

As for the first race, I feel if that were to be re-run, it would be with a reverse grid of the feature, and only the sprint race.
So, what happened?:

JDM was away from his console as the race started, only starting as the pack began to over-lap him. He (for some reason) decided to continue the race, with a low driving skill, and zero chance of a position. At the end of lap 2, JDM not allowing cars past caused atleast 2 cars to be pushed into the gravel at the last corner. Here I was in fith, with a great view of the previously great racing ahead. A huge cloud of dust and smoke appeared, so I slowed my pace to avoid any collisions, this reduction of speed being the possible cause of Kotkas damaging my back right wheel. As i reach the straight, I see JDM slightly ahead on my left side. I feel relived that I had escaped a crash, but completely confused as to who caused it, then suddenly JDM pulls hard right, practically spinning out, into the front of my BMW, causing me Full engine and wheel damage. This was apparently him 'pulling into the pits', without any awareness of other cars. I then had to reverse a good 50m of the straight to ebter the pits as soon as possible. Although I did not see any other parts of the crash (to my recall) l believe that this spin took out up to 8 drivers, as the pits were completely packed as I was leaving them.

I will watch the replay of race 1 tomorrow, and I have pics of race 2 to put up here tomorrow morning. JDM will of course not be re-competing.

Like I said.. Why was he there in the first place?

NO idea Jimmy, the worst thing is that if the scores were to be kept, he would hhave had no loss in points, as he is not in the championship!

See the funny thing is if you all remember when we was in the room and some guy JDM knew came to the room and he was chatting saying that guy couldn't join and stuff then look what happened!?

I think we could of saw a good battle in race 1 as well! 2 bmw's 2 mx's and 2 honda's battling it out.

mcgloney

I should have been in those battles!!! :/

I watched the replay again from kamy's view and I was going flat out and following the racing line. JDM was in-between me and Knight and i really don't no why he rammed me off the road.

Just checked the schedule and next track is Nurburgring GP/F. ;)
Me likes it.👍

Yeah it's not a bad track done a few laps rounds there.
Might see some good battles.

In those pictures it looks like mcglone was ahead of me... weird...

EDIT: Yeh why are we doing nurb again, can't we do something different?

It's the longer version.

BTCC is all about short track though.

Ok guys been reading through the comments. JDM was there as he asked if he could join. I knew he wasn't the best racer out there but dint see any harm in it. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

On reflection I am happy to re-run that round, I will put it to vote later today.

So if we do a re run, Will we start in the positions from the qualify?

Yes. I'm not sure how some people will feel about a restart though as obviously the winners will have to start again. Il put it to vote later

I say No. Lol. All in all a good result for the championship. ;)
If we re-do every race when some one gets taken out we would be in a never ending cicle. lol

.....Noo i have been taken out other races and have complained i haven't said oh let's do a re-race. Someone joined the race who wasn't in the championship. He continues to race and ruins everyone else's? Come on seriously?

Which race are we re-running, only race 1?
And i know it's the longer one, but it's pretty much the same track...

Yeah only race 1. That's if most people vote to re-run.

Yeah i know, but i doubt they will skip or do a different track.

well race 1 was problem race which effects race 2 therefore both will be run..

If we're re running race 2 aswell Ima vote no...

I think it's a strange thing to re-run an event. Imagine Ricciardo doing something like this in his debut on Hispania... Would FIA decide to run that race again?? No they would do something about Ricciardo and the results would be the same.
This is my opinion, but I wasn't one of the most affected by JDM's mistakes.

This isn't FIA. You obviously don't want to start again because you finished well. How can you penalize someone if they only just joined. It's to the point where the takes out are becoming pretty stupid.

I do understand what you are saying but you have to look at other peoples view's of this.

as a compromise, how about this: the people directly affected by the incident in race 1 run another 6/7 lap sprint race (can't remember how many it was), and their fiinal race times get slotted into the original results. I know the obvious problem with that is that there won't be as many cars on track, so they might have a slightly easier time of it, just an idea though.

That's not a bad idea mr cakestand. I will work out if it's doable tomorrow.

But then surely the people who aren't racing won't have a chance to defend their positions?

I have no preference over keeping these results or re-running the race(s), but I don't think the halfway house would work fairly.

Times would be pretty inaccurate, as battling for your place plays a big part in the race, and will often slow times. I call to run race 1 again, with reverse positions from race#2 (So me starting last), this would be effectively replacing race 1 with race 2, basically cancelling out the first race.
