Am I the only one here that uses the regular Directional pad to play the game? I've tried the analog sticks but the car over steers, and the steering wheel, well I spent over $50 for it and never use it.

I use the PS1 pad. The real old one, the one that doesnt even have sticks.

Yeah, I use the D pad on the PS1 pad, I cant stand the sticks

I'm analog-analog, baby. I don't like the ON-off-ON effect of the pads and buttons. It's too hard for me to steer that way. I realize there are supposedly 256 grades to the buttons, but c'mon, who's got that kind of touch?

Pardon me.

If you are offended you could just say so instead of labelling me based on one "joke."

How many incidences have we had?

Of course giving me a chance would not make you look like a hypocrite, something which you managed to achieve with your post about me.

And you look far worse than me with that post of yours.

I will edit the comment out.

I cant stand the D-pad. This is my first GT game and I feel far more comfortable with the analog-buttons (for steering). For braking and accelerating, I use the D-pad.

I'm old-skool, I've been using a D-Pad for so long I could never adjust fully to using the analog sticks. Granted my hands will probably be severely arthritic by the time I'm 35 because of this, but nobody said that racing was easy.

Steering wheel.

I remember reading an interview with the game's author where he said that the game was designed primarily for the wheel and the D-pad, and that he didn't recommend using the joysticks.

I always use the analogue stick for steering, buttons for accelerator and brake. And while I'd never be able to find all 256 different degrees of sensitivity for the buttons, I can certainly find a few with helps a lot, especially with high power cars that tend to wheel spin coming out of the corners.

Why on earth not? I understand designing it for a wheel (duh), but it seems to me that the analog sticks are as close to a wheel as you can get. The D-pads would seem a distant third in terms of feel.
