I have the import(JP) version of the game and the learning curve is up there. It's not something I'd consider pickup and play like NFS or even TXR: Drift. The game is more technical as the pro cars(at least) are set for drifting, making one rethink their way of driving. My brother and I battled each when I got the game and he was talkin bout he knows how to drift and whatnot and I beat him, but we were both kinda horrible. It was hilarious watching him run off the track and smack the wall on the FIRST turn of Tsukuba. The car damage is a nice little plus(finally!) and the Tsuchiya Trials help you on learning car control(which has examples for each test). The car customization is limited to rim choice, paint, and wing removal(there's only one preset wing for each car), and of course you suspension and final gear settings. There's no difficulty setting in the game, it's either you know/learn how to drift or get someone to beat it for you lol. The Survival Mode I tried out and I need some serious practice before doing that again, as your battling every driver in the game it seems. I'm liking the game more and more as I get the hang of drifting in this game and look forward to getting the U.S. release also(I don't understand any Japanese).

It's been pushed back to July 18th. Ok so it's one week more. No biggie.

Yeah but this is how it starts.......one week turns to one month turns to one year, etc.......Just like SRS, F&F, and TXR: Drift. I REALLY hope this doesn't happen to D1GP :nervous:

It's about time we get a dedicated drifting game on our shores (No, TXR Drift does not count)... For those of you that have played the Japanese version, how are the physics? Are they on the sim side (akin to a GT game), or more of a PGR feel, or somewhere in between?... I bought TXR Drift, and boy was I dissapointed. It's not so much a "drifting" game, as it is a "sliding on ice" game. Not realistic in any way shape or form...

;)

TXR Drift was fun for about 2 weeks. I never thought of it as a drifting game. To me, it was a touge game. I tried drifting sometimes, but I never dedicated my time to it.

If you liked drifting in GT3, then you'll love this game. You're right TXRD wasn't all that great. I think the only good games for drifting are GT3, Enthusia, and this D1 game. The only thing is, to really enjoy the D1 game, you should get a driving force pro wheel. It's really a bore to play it without it. Heres a vid I made of the 2005 game. I can't wait for the U.S. version to come out too.

It's not a bore when you get 16 people together and play through a season in one night though, haha.

Chers,
Matt.

yea i love tkrd, because i always wanted a touge game.

but how much are the dfp's now, how cheap do yall think i can get one off ebay.

and tksxe that vid was straight hotness more please.

Word of advice, don't expect it's going to be an easy game. There's no easy mode, and you should a while in the Tsuchiya trial before you jump into the tournamen mode.. That is unless you were good in GT3 drifting, which it becomes a synch to adapt to.

Then I got it made lol.

I am a GT3 drifting PRO! I can't do near as good in GT4.....nobody can because GT4 is unrealistic when it comes to drifting.

And yeah, I love racing in TXRD, but the physics are just wack. They remind me of GT4 with more grip. Wheelspin all you want, it won't help you drifting......atleast the e-brake works though.

I can't wait for this game......

On a side note......does the DFP work in 900 mode properly with this game??

lol i feel ya rsmith, when it comes to gt3 it was easy took me a while but i got it. but gt4, wtf. lol

going to check ebay now for a dfp

ok just checked and prices are decent now.

120 dollars for buy it now and alot of auctions for like 50 dollars to 200 dollars.

once d1 gp drops i will buy one, I might buy one before to play with txrd tho.

It will be a breeze for GT3 drifters if you play this game with the controller. If you're playing this with the DFP, you'll have to get used to 900 degrees mode. And that is the best way to play it.

At first I sucked at 900 degrees, but I saw an in-car video of Katsuhiro Ueo drifting Tsukuba, and I copied his style, and it really works!

Here are my settings for best angle with full control.

Full Tuned Cars
(-1 means move 1 block to the left, +1 to the right.)

F spring -2
R Spring +2
F Shock -2
R Shock +2
F Stabilzer -2
R Stabilzer +2
F Camber +2
R Camber +1
F Tire - leave it alone
R Tire +2
Engine Power +3

Being stiffer in the rear, makes the car oversteer easier.

If you guys need anymore pointers, just ask.

July 25th on EB games...

I have a question for you guys. Is this game coming out in Canada? or just the united states? I would want to try this out it looks good:)
