The blu-ray drive wont change anything. Or it shouldn't. If you bought a 40gb you need to swap out the HDD. You have the original Fat PS3 right?

Yeah both are fats, I was thinking since the CD Drive was faulty on the 40, if I replace it with the one from the 60 will the 40GB recognize it?

Yes you can export pictures from gt6 to ps3 then upload a file: your picture on gtp WS for videos I don't think so sadly I don't know how except for recording it with another eevice ..
