Lmao.

Why continue to play sport mode anymore? I mean they love shoving Japanese tracks down our throats.

Do they even listen to us? I’m sure I’m not alone to say we are getting tired of playing these tracks over and over and over and over and....

I wonder what their motive is? Are they trying to force people into FIA/Manufacturers? (Which I cant do or care for it)

I’m sure there are less people playing Sport mode now.

I'm kind of speechless. Runs away.

Boycott, anyone??

@NosOsH So what I'm seeing wasnt necessarily dirty from you. I think he might've been a little upset for sure.

That having been said, I can't say I think battling like you did with him did either of you any favors. When it's early in the race, lay back and just bide your time, focus on getting good laps in and get away from the pack. This needs to be your strategy if you're 5th or higher. Battling in the top 5 early only hurts everyone and cements your positions, thus rendering the rest of the laps a matter of procession to the finish.

The leader was in both of your's grasp but as soon as you passed him it forced you both to take slower lines, the tow was broken and the Leader disappeared into the horizon. Congrats on the 2nd, but judging by his form under pressure, you could've had a victory had you waited to battle until the 3rd or 4th lap.

Always best to get a gap between you and the rest of the pack and help obe another out and then start fighting at the end.

Off the topic of giving out crap (justifiably) about next week's races...and back to the topic of giving out crap about the Penalty System. Sorry! Has the issuing of red SR sectors and the dropping of SR points changed in the last two weeks? I didn't play for a couple of weeks. Did about 6 or 7 Daily A races this week only and dropped from 99 to 69 points. I've had fun, clean but at times paint swapping close races but still...fun, clean and close. It seems PD want to punish us for racing though. Daily A is not long enough to claw back dropped SR either so 2 or 3 foul sectors and that's the points gone. The strange thing is that we had a Gr4 Scirocco Daily A Race at Lago Maggiore a few weeks back, similar length race, FWD Gr4 car, same close & fun races but none of the red SR stuff.

EDITED: Some waffle removed!

@Snaeper: Since the video show that he passed while the other car was ghosted and running off a penalty I don't think he's guilty of "battling". However I totally agree that in general (not in this vid) players don't know how to just sit behind a car that is faster or of equal speed and enjoy lapping consistently with each other. I'd gladly sit behind a driver of similar speed and allow us both to pull away from a pack. I also let faster cars pass (particularly if I see that they have been off and are just coming back through the pack) and then try to let them help me build a gap from the next car. There were times I'd flash the car ahead hoping they would realise I was telling them to relax and just drive without fear of me dive bombing but I think most drivers misread that as me trying to be aggressive and distract by flashing lights at them.

That's exactly how I interpret people flashing me from behind.... it's happened twice and it's super off-putting! First time it happened I thought 🤬 you and blocked - until I got punted off! Second time it happened I just pulled away in the bends, it was only getting close on the straights.

I tend to read the flashing of the lights depending on the quality of the driver (are they aggressively weaving and getting ready to plunge or are they racing smooth and on a clean line)...but also totally racist I judge it by the flag beside their name.:D

Apologies by the way, I edited out that part of my comment above...I'll try put a comment back in for reference so you don't look like your are talking to yourself.:gtpflag:

@Snaeper
Ya I totally see where you are coming from especially in something like a race C and I agree completely.
But his qualy laps are in the 45's and this is a sprint race. I thought we were having a good battle there for a bit, part of the reason I play this game. I didnt dive bomb him at that first corner just threatened to and he lost time driving from his rear view mirror too much. Same thing a couple corners later he could have stayed on the outside and neither of us would have even touched. Sure I could have let off a bit and allowed him to stay ahead where he thinks he deserves to be but why...

@6BK
I always just interpret the flashing as
"hey im faster get out of my way i shouldnt have to work and prove that tho"
and I say Pfff

I defended this weeks daily race choice. I'll be doing no such thing about next weeks races. FFS PD I'm the first to defend you but you're not helping me with those repetitions.

The last two weeks have been very enjoyable, especially the reverse layouts of Lake Maggiore (with Gr.3 and the Audi TT Cup, been very competitive). I wish the reverse layouts were in the rotation more often to change things up a bit.

Very decent of you to do that - but I'm of an age where I don't really mind if people think I'm talking to myself (sometimes I am:lol: )

What the hell is this crap. I have been playing the game for a month now. You think they could be able to not have the same crap repeating in that time.

So its taken me a while to figure out how to drive at Catalunya. Was just starting to enjoy racing there and had what I thought was a good one, but then get called out as trash by a racer I see often enough. So any ways I made my first video as I was investigating myself. What do you guys think? Im feeling like he's used to winning and saw red mist after he made some mistakes under pressure.

Thas was monday after a bunch of practice and probably 7 or 8 races. Been on a steady Dr decline and almost reached Dr B, stabilising around 37k now. But I just do not like the porsche that much, love the car hate the gearing. I did discover the Atenza tho!! Never tried the gr3 version and am loving it! :dunce:

:gtpflag:

Perfectly fine pass, you left plenty room, he couldn't hold his line or maliciously steered back into you. This weaving / bump blocking mid corner is exactly why I have to go to such extremes to get clean races. Corner exit is at the outside of the corner, not the inside.

did i do anything wrong in this sequence?

Nope, except getting lucky not getting a penalty! You get bumped off track, the bumper tries to capitalize on his mistake, the next driver tries to take advantage of both of you. Good driving to keep your car steady under that barrage.

That looks exactly like a April fools prank someone here would come up with.

Is GTS Pole Position II?

But unfortunately it's not a prank. I'm starting to feel like a lab rat in an experiment in trolling. :irked:

I dont know I feel like he has a tendency to want to reach back towards the apex to try and shut the door even after missing it instead of just staying on his line and racing. I feel like I left him plenty of space and I dont feel like I pushed him at all I think he drove into the side of my car in all honesty.

Either way we bumped into each other, it didnt ruin or even really even affect either one of us. This guy is one of the faster people in the rooms Im in, should I have really just given him the corner and not tried to capitalise on his error in case we bumped?
It looked cleaner than any passes I've seen at Fuji.

Next week's daily races are now up:

Race A: Tsukuba Circuit N100 6 laps
Race B: Tokyo Expressway - Central Outer Loop GR.4 6 laps
Race C: Suzuka Circuit GR.2 10 laps

I'm kind of speechless. Runs away.

The what  Doesn't PD know their largest user base is in Europe, Brand's hatch, Sainte-Croix haven't seen those for over 6 months now.
Why GR.4 again, can't even mix up the car class on Tokyo :banghead:

On a better note, mission accomplished. This is what 80 clean races on Catalunya looks like
yUfdSnD.gif

Driving in extreme avoidance mode to remain absolutely contact free dropped me from 26K to 1 DR. About 290 DR loss per race. (after the two 1500 DR deductions from leveling down) Average finish position was 11th, 3.6 positions up per race. Best finish 5th place and only one fastest lap in all that when I had a gap for an entire lap to stretch my legs.

Instead of it getting easier to avoid contact, it got a lot harder at lower DR. I did all races without qualifying and the lower my DR dropped the more unpredictable and unsteady the competition became. There were many people that somehow manage to turn one corner into three corners as if there were a bunch of cones on the track they had to snake through. I have found new respect for those trying to get out of DR.D. Racing there is tough even when driving 6 seconds above your pace.

Next I'll see how long can hold on after qualifying. Back to real (clean) racing without immediately pulling over when a car gets too close to give that clean race ending tap from behind. It will have to wait a bit, I'm behind on life after 80 races in 4 days

That was a good move. He panicked and went tight to block and couldn’t maintain momentum.
Orange arrow because of cars track position in relation to standard racing line setting up for tight left hander.
Sr downs have a lot to do with the cars relative positions and orientation to the yellow race line the game provides.
People will disagree with that statement but I’ve seen it time and again.

🤬

Another race at Catalunya while I had a spare half hour, today. Race no 3 on my wheel.

Started 13th (again) finished 11th. 1 was a legitimate overtake. The other was someone elses misfortune. Best lap was 1:48.1xx. Clean race bonus to boot.

I could get used to this new found consistency . .

Dear Daily Race B,

I wasted what feels like the entire day, trying to perfect you; only for you to dangle my prize right before my eyes and laugh in my face. Well who's laughing now 🤬.

Even though this won't last, seeing my name on the Top 10 Stars is an amazing feeling. I had my doubts that I would ever get a time on the board and I started to believe my doubts after it took about 6 hours (yesterday and today) and then it happened. I was gutted to be .006 off of Top 10 for almost 2 hours :banghead:. But somehow I did enough in the first two sectors to not significantly hurt my time after blowing the last 4 corners. There is still time to gain and I'll try my best to improve the next time I'm on GT Sport. Video below but I seriously need a capture card because the quality is absolutely disgusting.

I have no idea how you can jump on the throttle that fast coming out of the corners without TCS on and not go sideways... If I even think about hitting the throttle that hard my car is facing the walls. I also didn't know you could cut the corners and chicanes that much on this track, I may have to give it another try.

Make sure your wheels are unwinding and you should be able to start adding throttle fairly quickly.

Much time to be gained in the complex of turns around the chicane. For me too. The second curb can be cut more than the first.
