We'll see how funny it is when people start losing interest in their product.
It's been 20 years so far, and people are still buying into the PD way...

That's fantastic. However, players can use their lack of reasoning to not participate. We'll see how funny it is when people start losing interest in their product.

Side note: Hey @Pigems remember when we were talking about going way up high on the final turn at Fuji? I just finished second there, and the first place guy said to me afterwards "ever heard of track limits". Well, every time I went up there, I gained time on the guy in front of me and the guy behind me. I feel like if the game will allow it, and it's faster, why not use it.

Track limits trigger me. Pd is being lazy. If you are gonna use fuji every week at least fix it first? I get why people do it until its fixed because one guy always does it so then other drivers want the quicker line too. I personally dont do it even if its faster because i think it makes you look like a major jabroni. Luckily for me i havent done a fuji combo since the last gr4 weekly there. Which was fun aside from the jabronis taking the extra wide line.

PD doesn't have to have a reason

Indeed. But as I said earlier, if I cared about someones feedback telling me my customers were sick of something that can be fixed easily (and it is an easy fix), I wouldn't be serving up the exact same thing they said they were sick of months later.

But not enough that PD still release their sales figures.

The next events will be the fifth after our interview (and the first was literally the next day), and a single month after that interview.

If we assume they're planned up to eight weeks in advance (which they used to be), we won't likely see a change in tack, if there is one, until the end of the second month - so early to mid-May.

I don't see the need to get worked up about it until then. We told Yamauchi about the player concern, he said he'd pass the feedback on and possibly look at increased staffing in that department too.

Few games companies and publishers release sales figures now (also is that sales or sold-through?), as it's all about player numbers these days.

Penalties are the track limits.

Penalties are very different depending on DR, and therefore track limits are very different depending on DR
Mixed rooms are always interesting!

Player numbers aren't great, 22K daily active players on last estimate. No clue whether better race selections will draw in more people but at least it will chase fewer away!

Extra staffing to select a list of races?

It's about urgency. He could order that a change gets forced through to be implemented a week after being told, but it's evident he does not find it to be a priority. I would argue that it should be.

Back on the track. Started on pole, close race then in the final chicane the Lexus behind me dove in and bumped me out of the way to take the win. He didn't get a penalty, luckily I didn't get SR Down. Clean race 86, Lexus reported. Sure he said sorry afterwards, doesn't mean anything if you punt and run.

Next, on pole again. RCZ starting behind me. He went on the inside to out brake me in T1, sure go ahead. Track limits are very wide in DR.C (penalty wise). I got a good run on him at the start of lap 4 so went on his inside there and stayed ahead for the rest of the lap. With his draft I improved my best lap to 1:47.229, another triple star victory. I should be back to DR.B soon at this pace.

3rd race, disconnected at matchmaking. Perhaps for the better. The punter from the first race was starting behind me again. Elite Dangerous time.

Three more laps of qualifying before two more races at Catalunya (would be more, but work in the morning).

They went pretty well. Particularly happy with the first one.

I improved my best lap time to 1:47.094, so close to a 1:46. I'm back to DR.B, not starting on pole anymore (last race), a solid second place it is. I stayed within range of the leader and his best lap was only 0.060 faster, just enough to stay ahead. Back to 13.2K DR, and now at 90 clean races. Enough for today. Clean Friday delivered again!

Man I’ve put in a couple sessions trying to break 47 and it’s tough!. I STILL have no idea how people get time outta the 911 and R8.
I suck with those cars. For me they are crash specials!
I do love battling them though!
Bring that cheese to the straight...lol.

@Pigems got to witness first hand as my Top 5 streak in Daily Race C came to an end with... A 6th. Got beat by the same guy that stole my 2nd from the race before. Good races both, though.

Good race man! There’s been some good rooms tonight so far, I wasn’t sure if you knew it was me or not. I wanted to keep up with Turismo_Del so badly in that one!! But I pushed too hard and made mistakes, I had a good battle with that guy for 3rd place for a couple laps but another mistake put me back to 4th we’re I finished, it was a fun race though. :)

I skipped the next one but I’ll be back for the one after that. Nice to see you out on the track man, hope to race with you again soon.

Yeah the next one was... Well... I lost my cool and Im SR A now...

EDIT: So I had been back in 7th and racing with 6th and we were just behind 4th and 5th who were banging doors. I had raced with one of the two guys the race before and knew he was a good and clean racer (S/S) so I figured the orange car was getting up to some junk.

Sure enough their battle slowed them both enough for 6th and I to become 4th and 5th cutting between the both of them. Then on the first turn of the next lap, the orange car dived on me hard and basically ruined my race with 4th and allowing him and the S/S driver to get back past.

So the next lap I dived him back. *whistles innocently* Managed to recover to 5th despite the penalties, but my SR ranking tanked.

FYI, for my friends within PS4, I did an ID change from DPWolf to Gibson_Washburn. I'd do the same on this site but it looks like that won't be possible to match the two. I'm trying to consolidate but this is proving difficult.

Got bumped into the lower lobbies and got my very first win! Hell yeah.

Was also my first time in pole. Raced an excellent race with a Brazilian and Argentinian the whole way. Played some strategy at the end and broke the tow while getting them to fight each other. Awesome race for my first win.

AAAAAARRRRRGHH!!!! Race C just now, started 3rd on grid, shunted off in first corner by 4th place fool in a Citroen GT, then 2 corners later again bumped off, SR downgraded every time. Running in 10th before the penalty line on 1st lap. RAGE QUIT!!

Sorry :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Nnnnnnno... You did read the interview, right?
“The settings for the Daily Races are done by the Operations Team within Polyphony Digital,” explains Yamauchi. “They are the ones that come up with the events, so I will give that feedback to them!”

It’s not their only role however. “The guys that are actually working behind the screens of the operations side of this event are actually people from the operations team,” continues Yamauchi, “and they are also the ones that are thinking up the race combos for the competitions as well. I think their work load is maybe overflowing, so maybe we need to increase our capacity on that team!”

Is it? All we know is that it doesn't appear - from our point of view - like there's been that much of a change yet. There may be logistical reasons for it that we're simply unaware of. It's a bit early to start jumping to conclusions about who cares how much about what.

I don't really see what's productive about getting cross about it right now.

Seeing 3 Japanese tracks for the 3 daily races next week is a sick joke. I don't see any incentive to play this game if the same tracks keep getting recycled WEEK AFTER WEEK. We really need to have more races running each week, or races that change more frequently. As in, having them change DAILY? Wouldn't that be an excellent idea!
