Changed up my strategy, mid race. The cars ahead weren't leaving me behind while was on RH. I was getting a bit slowed down, actually. I pit one lap later and switched to RMs. jumped two places after pitting. Caught 3rd(in a GT-R) and had a tense 3 lap battle. Think it wasn't using TCS, as it was all over the place.

Race B is done. It brings me no joy...

@Pigems Dope seein you out there again, nice finishes in those first 2. 9th from last is pretty decent in those rooms. They were pretty stacked Mostly A's couple B's & A+'s, lots of fast players but also alot of entitled players.

Players who when get passed, feel like you or anybody else nearby literally insulted their manhood and will punt you or do anything they can to anybody.

Then when we were in that race on your second (of 3?) account and once I passed mr putoo susio (whatever that means) he proceed to screw you and Kbonics race. Good recovery though!

@Winnie847 Ya wow sick Q time bud!
I got to a mid 148 but I cant see how I could get it into the 147's let alone low 147.
Well done! another half second and you're in martian territory... maybe even Europa or Enceladus Alien level

You too @Pigems
I think you got me beat this week

Okay, I went off at the chicane, at the start of the race. I get a Clean Race bonus?

D4gd7EEUwAEMqZK.jpg
Isn’t that depending on having contact with another car or going against a wall? Not sure tho. You went off the chicane but didn’t crashes against anything?

I couldn't keep quiet any longer. Everyone here has complained about dirty drivers. Many of us have raced from the back. I enjoy it, and it's a challenge. And yes, I have to deal with dirty drivers, and have been known to retaliate if they are especially dirty. I think the ones that bother me the most, though, are those that force their way through on the inside, even though there is really no passing oppertunity. If racing from the back, I understand that the first half of the pack I pass may not be dirty, but they will probably brake early, take bad lines and generally be erratic. I deal the best I can. I usually hold my toungue, but lately I've been seeing posts, complaining about dirty drivers, and then I watch the video and I see the complainer running into the back of slower cars, sticking a nose in on the inside, and even aggressivly blocking after a big error, or a penalty slowdown. Just because somebody is slower doesn't give the right to knock them out of the way or force your way past. I'm far from perfect, but some things I never do are block after I go off (or serve a penalty) and am dozens of MPH slower than I should be. I try not to get into the back of anyone, and I don't stick a nose in and push people wide. I will cover the inside and make you take the long way around, but I won't weave and block.

I started racing from the back because it's fun. I watched a couple of race replays where @Sven Jurgens was in my race, and starting at the back. I rode along and was amazed at how easy he made passing look, and how patient and clean he was. He raced from tye back, and made up double digit positions, yet got a clean race bonus in many (most even) of his races. I would say I was close to his absolute speed (best lap times) , but had nowhere near his racecraft. I've learned a lot since then about working traffic, in no small part to @Sven Jurgens (thanks!). I haven't had a lot of laps, or races this week, but all my races so far have been from the back at Suzuka. My Q lap is a 49.5 right now, but I don't think I've done better than a 51 in a race. I've had a race where my best lap was a 56. That's the price you pay when dealing with traffic.

I guess my point is, before complaining, look at yourself. If someone is repeatedly blocking, and you give them a nudge so they go wide, and go by, I understand. But if you slam into someone that's just slower, force your way by, or swerve in front of traffic after a penalty or error to mess up their race, or get a speed boost, you're the dirty driver. Nobody, no matter how fast, is entitled to a position on track. Earn it fair, and respect those that may be slower, but are just trying to do their best.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programing...

I think Suzuka usually brings worst in drivers, even tho or may seem like it has so many passing spots it only really has 2-3 spots where you can pass cleanly.

First time today I race with this new penalty system. It's awesome, I get punted from behind in esses by a guy trying to push thru from a mile away without using any steering since,I'd guess, the intention is to bounce off me into the right direction..
I get 3s penalty on lap 10, get rewarded with slowdown lane, he jiggles by and kicks off another one in Casio, no penalty.

Not sure what they're doing with this stuff, but tbh dailies were million times more fun before they started messing with penalties and weekly stuff:rolleyes:

Who is/are the target(s) of this post ? I have not seen any video in the last 10 pages that matches what you describe.

So I started to enjoy the race C. But I'm having issues with overtaking. It feels more difficult (and less fun) than with Gr.3 or Gr.4 cars. Maybe it's because there are fewer cars and they have very similar acceleration, braking and cornering ? (and because almost everyone is using the same car)

What are your favorite spots to overtake on Suzuka ?

Thanks man, it was a fun night, and it was great racing with you. I jumped onto my other account for that last race because I was hoping for more laps with you and Kbonics, and we were running well too until that guy decided to be a dink, oh well, it was still a fun race. I fell bad for Kbonics though, that wreck threw me right into him and I think he got the worst of it, I’ll upload the replay later, I haven’t seen it yet. Most excellent display of racing last night man!! You got 3rd in all 3 races didn’t you? Very well done man, they were definitely some quick rooms, one only had 2 B drivers, rest A’s or higher.,

Edit: This is what happened, guy bumped me into him and then hit him as well.

Damn! Race C is tough this week for me. I did have my best result of 5th though after hearing these this morning :) Time for work but at least i've left it on a slightly more positive note

Awesome man, glad to hear it! A little Power Metal usually gets the blood pumping pretty good, it makes for great warmup music. :D

Edit: I wonder if anyone makes air fresheners in the scent of gasoline and exhaust fumes? It would be perfect to hang on the rig for a little more realism.

Thanks bud! On that lap I was actually on pace for a 1:47.0 and totally blew it through Spoon and the Casio Triangle. Haven’t had much time to race with it, but I might try to improve that time tonight before jumping in a few more races. See you guys tonight if you’re still racing!

Suzuka's clean race bonus is iffy. For some reason I often don't get it while staying on the road the whole race without any contact. That last chicane is also a bit broken for track limits. Often a penalty doean't trigger when you get bumped into the green wobbly stuff as if that's still part of the track.

Or perhaps going off doesn't count if it happens before the first sector actually starts. I assume you never get SR up for crossing the start, so you can't lose it there either. You don't get SR up either for the final sector of the race, perhaps that also means that going wide in the last lap final sector might not count against the clean race bonus. No clue how it actually works, but if it simply depends on how many SR up arrows (out of the max possible) you collected, that would make sense.

What are your favorite spots to overtake on Suzuka ?

I've seen them on the track.

Favorite spots to overtake on Suzuka is out braking for the chicane after timing the overtake right after the slight left. Coming alongside before that is a bit too risky. The hairpin works good for overtaking, usually it's anough to come alongside on the right to trick the other driver into out braking you, then break early and hug the inside, undercutting them. On the main straight overtaking inside or outside both works. On the inside is a tad more risky, hug the inside and hope they don't ram you for a penalty. On the outside they'll usually be afraid of getting a penalty and leave you room.

And of course anywhere where someone messes up and you kept enough distance to go by safely. Never drive bumper to bumper as that takes all your options away. Faster exits and room to avoid slides and take advantage of them works much better. 0.3 sec gap is close enough.

What are your favorite spots to overtake on Suzuka ?

I’ve really been enjoying passing in T1 honestly, inside is easier but outside works too, but you’ve really gotta trust the guy if you’re going outside. But really in these cars there are all kinds of place to pass because there are so many mistakes made. Here’s a few, I’m working on some more clips now. :)

@Pigems So it was actually that Gtmx guy and not carlos...
Like I stated earlier though he has exceptional pace but I ended up passing him and he decides that anything goes to try and get positions back after he messes up too a couple corners back at degner 2?
Of course no penalty and perfect blue rating. It is suzuka tho pretty hard to get in the red.
They really gotta address rear enders and pushing out from behind. Brake checking be damned.

you are about to witness an execution for which i received no penalty. Race C.

So I made a mistake and fell to 10th from 7th, im catching 9th and im clearly faster but hes blocking me in a shady fashion. We are at the hair pin and he moves to the inside line but then he swerves in front of me at the braking point so he gets punted but he gave me no time to brake earlier. he catches me next lap because of my penalty and i went wide through degners. i take the inside at the hairpin and he blasts me off track as revenge i guess. he tries to swerve another guy off the track during his penalty who wasnt invovled and tries to get me too. so i pit on that lap (4) for an undercut. later when he pits he comes out right in front of me and drives slow in front of me so i executed him and didnt receive a penalty because he was moving slow on the race line i guess. The only clip i dont have is when i hit him the first time but again swerving in front of me bumper to bumper at the brake point is on him.

might just join a lobby. already done with this weeks overused combos.

Not proud but I enjoyed the karma in the finale :D

Been experimenting at Tsukuba with cockpit can, about 4 tenths to find on my best lap but I kinda like it.

Not confident enough to use that view for the race, finished second with a clean race bonus after some lap 1 hairpin action was a pleasant surprise;

Its cleared up...well stopped raining
I got a Ttime with the boys in and hour n a half.
might go practice some bunker shots.
a little later before dinner so like 6ish on ur side?

Next week's races are up

A: N100 (Provided) - Tokyo Expressway East Inner Loop - 2 laps - Strong Slipstream
B: Gr.3 - Red Bull Ring - 5 laps - Racing Medium
C: Brands Hatch GP - Gr.X One Make - 15 laps - Racing Medium/Hard - x3 fuel, x13 tyre wear (I'd say based on those settings it's probably the Super Formula cars)

I've gotten too caught up in the revenge games of SR B/C lately. i need to focus and get back to S. haven't seen it in a couple weeks. i quite enjoyed just being in the midfield-backfield of A/S lobbies.

Only one japanese track? How will we survive ?

@Sven Jurgens thanks for the tips and @Pigems thanks, the videos are pretty useful

Finally Brand's hatch. Something fast indeed, 15 laps in 20 minute races usually. What does 1:20 laps on Brand's. No fuel stops again, tire wear just as bad as this week.

Red bull ring, hmm hope PD fixed the track limits or no go.
