So what's the meta car for next week's daily on dragon trail gr3? I'm thinking the supra is looking good and the lambo!

If the physics have changed again it could be any car, but it’s a power track so the faster top end cars should still be good there.

The physics changes made the Lambo become way easier to drive than before, so it might be a good guess.

I was surprised to see that the ferrari also became way nicer to drive, way more stable when trailbraking and accelerating out of turns.

I would not be surprised if some other cars show up in the top ten quali for brands hatch Race B

So, it kinda sounds like the MR cars got an upgrade then eh? I wonder how my Honda does now?

Wow, just noticed we have 2 chicanes of death next week :eek: We just need Tokyo South Outer for the unholy trinity of chicanes :lol:

Monza is worse and more deserving of a trinity spot, I think.

I noticed that you can go off to the grass without loosing significant momentum on many parts of the track.

Another thing to consider is that it will be a wear race so going off onto the grass isn't going to make tyres happy.

I was having fun (but bad results) with the mclaren 650S, yesterday after the update in one of the highspeed corners on brands hatch the rear flied out without any advice, this never happened before, race was gone. if that car was not enough difficult already

Did the car number system change? Cause I just did a race where I placed lower than my car number (the whole field was DR B and above so iirc it should display the numbers properly), but I gained around 500 DR. Not complaining though :lol:

Weird one. All my fastest laps, were on my initial first lap(2 laps for each car).
I hit the chicane on my second lap(Atenza), which the time reflects at the bottom. Ran the other cars and went again in the Atenza last.
The BUgatti optimal lap would match the Huracan, but I caught some grass on the inside of the last corners.

Lancer felt good, however, the time doesn't look it. WRX felt safe. GT-R felt fast.

Now, the Huracan. That car has the least power and similar weight to the Atenza and Evo. I can see why players choose it. The gearing is 4.890! That more than compensates for lack of power. I was up those gears with a quickness and it has a high top speed. Still, I ain't jumping on the bandwagon.
Evo has nearly 4.7 gears. So, I also see how the 5-speed keeps up.

Well, next to check how tyre wear is at 11x.

What still could increase your DR is that you have finished higher then a couple of players who already have/had higher DR than you.

Aaaand, the housemate confirms that the internet is back up and running.

Now, do I race at Autopolis/Brands? Or, do I focus a bit more on learning how to "get gud" at Goodwood? At the very least, I need to drop my Q time at Brands below 1:24. That's been bugging me all week . .

Last night I smashed my quali time on Race C in the RB Jnr, over a second quicker than my previous best! Was a bit confused where the speed came from then looking in car settings to see if they changed anything I see they upped the front downforce. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but on Monday it was 450 at the front last night it was 650!

I'm guessing they did when they updated and it has made a big difference I've found, I went from a 1:59.5 to a 1:58.7 and my optimal was a 1:59.3 which dropped to a 1:58.5.

Yup, I'm aware of that. Maybe I'm just outdated but the last time I read upon this topic, car numbers are assigned to the players' DR corresponding to the field which left me baffled haha

Door number is bugged, it's on (revers) alphabetical order, so 8 DR comes before 75,000 DR.

I did a few tests a while back and it was all still working as found out earlier

For example one daily A race with all the changes
A (3) 7191 -> 7961
B (9) 11874 -> 12389
C (2) 7326 -> 7774
D (10) 10238 -> 10469
E (5) 5530 -> 5696
F (1) 8279 -> 8231
G (8) 13352 -> 13043
H (7) 13463 -> 12993
I (6) 15089 -> 14428
J (4) 6198 -> 5556

Total before 98,540
Total after 98,540

Zero sum game with point exchange between the players. It depends on your DR and everyone else's how high you have to finish to gain DR.

In this example E loses DR while G gains some

A (1) 49656 -> 49811
B (2) 28445 -> 28806
C (7) 19684 -> 20060
D (9) 14639 -> 14960
E (3) 28202 -> 28089
F (5) 26664 -> 26425
G (9) 1669 -> 1753
H (4) 292 -> 241
I (8) 17390 -> 16859
J (6) 1

Total before: 186,642
Total after: 187,005 +363

With DR.1 in the mix it's not always a zero sum game as J still gives out points to others (which he doesn't have)

I added the door number in (). When there are people below 10k in the room, it's all mixed up.

Is that since the update? When I used TCS a while back, I found TCS 1 made almost no difference from 0.
I can't say if it's the most recent update that changed it. I haven't tried anything less than TCS 2 for Gr.3 cars in a long time, because the rear tires would spin too much, since I use the X button for throttle.. I just lowered it to 1 yesterday when I was trying to find something to make my qualifying faster, and to my surprise, I didn't have to go easy on the throttle anymore. The rear tires just grip way better now. It's getting a little loose exiting the turn 2 hairpin, but that's it. 👍

*Also, I reset myself last night to see if I can go from B/S to D/E to B/S in less than a day. Just mixing things up for fun. :lol:

Rest of the night went a bit better. 2 more wins (forgot to take a picture of one, oops) and a hard fought 2nd with some great racing with MATE_agustinlop. Replay uploading. Hopefully my DR recovered after that first mess...

Here's video from the final race last night. Great battle ensued for the lead. Turn 1 for everyone was super clean, surprised me. After that not so much as you will see. :p

I had time for a couple races this morning and saw @astrarobotica on the track breathing down my neck a couple times. Good racing! I managed a victory in the Beetle and WRX. This is my list so far since the update

1:23.813 (1:24.078) Audi R8
1:23.929 (1:24.711) Lexus RC F 16
1:24.142 (1:24.614) Subaru WRX
1:24.314 (1:24.735) BMW M3 Power
1:24.359 (1:25.052) Toyota GR Supra
1:24.629 (1:24.965) Porsche 911
1:24.704 (1:24.905) Hyundai Genesis
1:24.740 (1:24.883) Volkswagen GTI VGT
1:24.751 (1:24.972) Mercedes SLS AMG
1:24.884 (1:24.891) Honda NSX
1:24.884 (1:25.698) BMW Z4
1:24.914 (1:25.395) Chevrolet Corvette C7
1:24.925 (1:25.175) Volkswagen Beetle
1:25.099 (1:24.505) Ford GT LM Spec II
1:25.562 (1:25.337) Citroen GT
1:25.983 (1:25.073) McLaren BMW

The Lexus gain looks huge but I was stuck in traffic with the '16, did a 1:24.460 with the '17 version, still 0.5 sec faster now. Take it all with a grain of salt, since I first drove the WRX after the update (From the back in traffic). So the 0.5 faster with clear road is just not being stuck behind traffic. I didn't drive the M3, Ford GT, Corvette, WRX and Huracan until Thursday, so no real comparison for those, just the difference between traffic and clear roads. I had some good slipstream with the Ford GT racing from the back, without it's 0.4 sec slower.

Anyway I'm glad my favorite, Lexus, is faster as well now :)

I’m tempted to start qualifying with bumper cam. I prefer racing with cockpit for both immersion and spatial awareness, but I’m sure I’m losing ultimate quali time with it.

I don't check downforce settings etc but I also found more than a second on my time whereas I've been slower in other cars so I guess that's why I improved so much

Here's my lap

Did 1 Race B yesterday and 1 today for Daily Mileage.

QT 1:25.516 (so slow/need to get faster). Got me 2nd last spot in front of non-qualifiers. Finished up 1 spot and up 2 spots but lost DR despite all DR B and above grids.

I never use TCS. Not because I think it's faster but because I don't want fiddle with settings then forget about it. But started using TCS +1 on the 911 RSR this week after reading @sturk0167 post. Lap times are about the same. But it helps me stay on the track. 👍

I started behind you in a race, yesterday. I thought it was you, but wasn't sure exactly what your new name was. I made sure not to bump you, just in case. I believe I avoided contact with you, but other than that, didn't do too well.

What I love about the 911 is that it doesn’t get bothered much if you touch the grass a lil, so it’s easier to push harder. Especially turn 3 where I see a lot of cars struggle with grip in the run off. Not the 911, it’s solid.

Hey, are you still not allowing friend requests? I tried to add you a few months ago, and it said that your settings won't allow it.
I didn't even know about the setting until someone told me a few weeks ago. Please send me one. I would but don't know which PSN.

Anyone else too, if you need someone on your qualifying times list to make you feel better about yours, I'm your guy. :cool:

Try the WRX, it doesn't care about a bit of grass or kerb either and I'm 0.5 sec faster in it than the 911.
Audi is still faster but it hates grass :lol:
