Just lost a race because the leader and second came together in the chicane on the last lap. First place then stopped in the middle of the track to let second through and second swerved across the track to push me into the first placed player. Really grubby and stupid stuff.

Did the guy in P2 have a skull on his livery? :odd:

That sucks man. Kinda stuff that kills your will to play...

...while i'm here, intrigued by your avatar, and reverse image search doesn't wanna work, feel like i've seen it somewhere before, what is it?

Its from the back cover of the Destruction Derby 2 booklet

Did the guy in P2 have a skull on his livery? :odd:

Ill spin him around to have a closer look

There was definitely a difference before, it seems to be dwindling down as the updates go on though. :)
This may sound weird but I feel like there’s more grip online now.

I beat my quali time by .2 during a race, without any tow I should add. Can’t repeat that in quali.

Not exactly irrefutable evidence, I know.

I wonder the long gearing for the Megane helps fuel economy. I'm pressing hard full throttle. I pluck 6th after the penalty zone. Down to 5th after the kink, 4th and 3rd into St. Mary's. 6th down the back straight. It just sips fuel.

For 4 laps I harassed a 458. Didn't force a pass though, I went side by side and lifted at the final corner before the chicane. Don't know if the 458 was shortshifting or set the fuel. I changed tyres as well.

I was avoiding bumping cars ahead, due to offs and slow traffic during the first lap. I got hit from the rear but I stayed on the brakes so I didn't go flying forward. Starts are bogus, but quick car. Tempted to start a new game. Oh so tempted.

Race B qually in the Supra.

Struggling to get low 1.39s. All comes together on one lap and I get a 1:38.8.

Pretty sure I’ll need to be consistent in low 39s before racing tho.

The top drivers take the chicane of death at such a fast pace! Gonna take a while to get even remotely close to that.

Haven’t tried Goodwood yet, so heading there now. Think I’ll use the Toyota 86.

Your time won't be made at the chicane of death. The first sector and the esses are key. You can get away with 210 kkmh at the chicane of death and still get a good time if you nail what I mentioned earlier. Getting a good exit out of the final hairpin helps a lot too.

Some people just do dumb moves then do more damage trying to correct for it.
Unghhh, it's my biggest pet peeve in the game.
I get the whole being " honourable " thing, but I've both seen and been involved in so much carnage as a result of this behaviour, and furthermore I don't want or appreciate it.
If you take me out, regardless of if it's reckless, stupid, or a legitimate and honest mistake, I just chalk it up to a racing incident and move on as long as it wasn't malicious.
i hate getting "given" a spot and I'd rather try and race my way back and earn the spot legit.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve worked out how to carry a bit more speed and get on the power earlier out of the final corner.

I’m certainly struggling with being consistent and carrying speed thru the esses. When I get it about right, I then brake too late for following hairpin.

For the esses, there's a orange painted wall right before the cone. You want to do your breaking between these points.
Look for 175 at the exit from the first turn, attack the curbs VERY aggressively. Work your speed from there. For the the next hairpin. I got no advice. The best I could tell is breaking on the left curb, letting the car go at 100 or so and take the corner and being real good at getting traction at the exit.

Also, the right hander before the big break before the esses. You can cut it on the inside and without lifting. Just remember, then comes the slow right hander into the esses. Again, it's easier to get time hhere than killing yourself on the chicane.

I was trying to find if there was a previous Panorama race with Gr.4 but no results. All others have been using Gr.3. I might continue my tradition of only using the Mercedes. I watched the last Bathurst 12hr race (enjoyed it way more than I thought) and I've since only used the AMG there.

As for liveries, I barely notice other car liveries while racing. Maybe it's the camera angle I use or whatever but I'm so fixated on my own race and car. I use several pink liveries although I haven't triggered many people when using them, I don't think.

At first glance I thought the guy on the blue mower was holding a beer in his right hand.

Can't unsee now.

I’m running my brake balance at 3 (rear) on the RC btw. I also can’t recommend the Fanatec CSL Elite Brake pedals enough. I have my brakes setup VERY stiff for anything “race car” and it’s made trail braking so smooth.

I also just watched replays of my last two races to compare tire wear to other drivers/cars. The RC def eats the fronts a lot more than the rest. My tire wear was similar to other RC’s on track, but honestly I barely notice the tire wear. Laps 8-9 maybe a touch more understeer but otherwise lap times barely suffer. Curious to attempt a no stop and see how it drives. I’ll test this in a few and let you know.

One possible advantage. Let’s say I’m in a race and get stuck behind a fast driver matching my times. I can opt to trim fuel and switch to a no stop while trying to use his slip stream as long as possible. Catch him off guard. Or he puts a few seconds on me and controls the pace (takes it easy thinking he has it) not realizing I’m doing a no stop. It opens up strategic options.

Tried the Nissan for the daily c to get some manufacture practice. Wow its great at Goodwood. Managed a 1:14.9.

It can no stop and I think it would be faster, but out of 4 attempts I was pushed off the track everytime by other drivers on a 1 stop.

Yeah that’s my concern with trying a no stopper. Sure it could possibly be faster. BUT it makes you a sitting duck for slower/idiots. You would need to get lucky to not get stuck behind someone who is fast on the straight and slow in corners because they will cost you so much time.

If you can run a few laps at max fuel, then trim out once the race has settled, maybe it works out. It’s just such a risk at this track.

Are you referring to GTS races or real races? There has been Gr4 in the dailies before. Of my 4 Sport Mode wins, one was at Bathurst with the Veyron.

As for liveries, you might also want to check out the 6h race.

I do know what you mean, in the race proper I'm looking at the road and not the pretty details on someone elses machine. But I tend to watch the replays back and enjoy making videos and things so I see more than you otherwise would, and for me there's an immersive quality to the whole thing. Especially in the FIA events when at the start you get a look at the entire grid etc. so I appreciate it when someone has taken the time to put their original stamp on what they are driving (or take the time to download someone elses!) rather than using the same stock livery.

It feels more realistic. I've never been to or watched a racing event where every car looked the same, even if its a one make event/championship.

Having said that, at least the stock liveries for most of the cars are actual proper liveries. What I really hate is when a car doesn't actually race in the relative Group and so it gets a slap dash splattering of colour with no attention to detail. Or indeed when you get a certain Italian Super Car Manufacturer enter the scene and you're lucky to actually get a car full stop, let a lone a licensed colour scheme to boot.

I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're the kind of person who pootles around in a stock red Gr.3 458, we can't be friends...

Which cars did most people in the top10 use in Asia
Top 5 (and 7 of top 10) have been Supra all week with 2 R8s and a NSX in the bottom 5, but today some guy smashed a GT-R into 6th place.
Surprising result because the Nissan is one of the gr3s that is still a bit tail happy and didn't benefit as much as others with the physics update.

Edit: Then again that "some guy" was HeAvN and watching his replay I reckon he could still shave a fair bit of time off that lap.

What about white? I like the white 458.

GTS. I probably should had been more clear, there's been no Gr.4 races at Bathurst since the switch to weekly races.

Nope, never. I always make sure to dress up my cars before heading out to the track.

I might be mistaken but last gr4's at The Mountain were 30th/12th/2018 and 20th/9 th before that.
I have no idea how long it's been since the switch back to weekly though.

I think you're right, I searched Panorama and Gr.4 and didn't find anything but found the December race after searching Bathurst instead. Whoops. I'm pretty sure races were still weekly back then.

This sounds about right. I've only ever known weekly races (bought the game in August) and I've definitely raced Gr.4 at Bathurst. I seem to remember the Megane being the popular car.

Two races this morning on Goodwood, another no stop vs one stop.

Today the one stop was much faster over all, 17 sec faster. However the no-stop had me finish 6th with the clean race bonus, while the one stop was a 7th place finish without clean race bonus thanks to getting bumped from behind. The no-stop was a lot slower this time because I got stuck behind a 1 bar connection who was all over the place and braking in the wrong places, dragging my lap times down to 1:23 and 1:24. I tried to pass him yet he or his connection kept banging me until he had 6 sec in penalties so I could finally get by in the penalty zone. That did mean I had plenty fuel left to keep up in the second half but too much damage was done already.

Fastest lap of 1:18.2 in the no stop, 1:16.175 in the one stop. 20:17.2 race time in the no stop, 20:00.7 in the one stop. My best no stop time so far was 20:02, one stop is in the lead.
