Have really enjoyed racing at Goodwood this week. My choice of car has been the NSX mainly for how good it is on fuel, lacks some speed on the straights but its great through the corners. Have no stopped every race and managed 10 wins so far, best race time of 19:21

Ok. The RC is a BEAST at Goodwood. Dropped my time slightly to 1:14.459 with ease. Right now my optimal is 1:13.8xx and I know I’ve got a 1:13.9 in me. Sitting at #11 for now.

In the race it’s also amazing. The straight line power means you can take a little extra caution on entry knowing you have power to compensate. Really stable but also darty for the chicane.

Two races, pole for both. First race won by 18sec, next race by 7 with ease. This car can sit at 1:15 flat all day long which forces other drivers to push harder.

I’ve also noticed a lot of people are wayyyy too aggressive with the last part of St Mary’s. Sure if you pull it off it’s fast, but the room for error is tiny. Same with turn 1, everyone tries to do a record setting lap in T1 and most laps it costs them. Coast into T1 until the bump in the road then floor it and slightly lift if necessary. Consistency is key at Goodwood.

What are you guys getting for tire wear? After 10 laps I’ve used maybe a tenth of my tires.

19:21 is quick! I’m hovering in the 19:18-23 range with a stop. Curious to try the NSX, what fuel trim?

I just tried a few Group 2 Laps on Alsace II.

Well, bumpy track, tight twisty turns (most of them cambered) combined with zillions of Newtons of torque... - there‘s no weather in GTS but this is racing on ice.

By the same time of day in seven days we will all be down to E/E.

I‘ll wait which setup PD is going to provide but I think I‘ll skip Sportsmode entirely next week.

Not sure you'd get the signs past the PD decal police... In fact I rather hope you wouldn't :p
You're probably right. I would definitely throw away my race to hit someone with that decal on their car.

Thanks for not lapping me in that last one. It was close.

Fuel map 1 for most of the race just short shifting from the start. I change up to map 2 or 3 during the corners for a few laps, helps save that bit more.

That's what i forgot to mention about the RC F. That thing wags the tail out of the chicane! Had to tip toe on entry, but was still having a snap oversteer on exit. Not even much throttle input.

Going to try the Megane again and first time with the Scirocco at GW. Deciding if I'll start a new game and switch to VW or Renault for the FIA races. The Gr.4 events are at Interlagos, Kyoto, St.Croix and another fast track. It'll suit those two FF cars over my current Atenza. Not too worried about Gr.3 in either the RS01 or Golf(did the Sheepeople Beetle once before).

Alsace in Gr.2 sounds hilarious.

Dragon Trail in Gr.3 is strange this week. I tried a Supra for a few laps and the brakes seem a lot different to me compared to the people I've been driving against.
Alsace? Is that a new track???

@Deadpool we raced last night, right? You were insane with the Cayman, well done! :]

I'll pitch in my info with the RC F. That thing is fast, but it chews up the tires, specifically the front left tire. It's decent on the fuel; no stopping is possible, but you sacrifice a ton of speed... and when the car is showing weakness in the turns, you're a sitting duck.

You'd probably need new tires, as going the whole way brings the tires to 50 - 55% wear at the end of the race.

Back to good ol' Goodwood, I used the Lexus with a 1:15.5 QT which gave me P6 on the grid in a DR A and B lobby. I was the only Lexus there. I like her a lot but sadly, the front left tyre becomes too worn after halfway so I decided to change tyres at lap 9. The nice thing is you can go 9 laps flat out on FM1 where in other cars I've tried, 8 is the max.

There wasn't much to report so no text wall except on the last lap. I was behind someone who switched his babyrage on and rammed two drivers off in front. I caught up and I could see him positioning himself to punt me off too so I backed off. I figured let's stay behind him, give him his rattle and he'll likely drive himself off. To my surprise, he slowed right down at St. Mary's and let me pass. Maybe he began reflecting on what he did? *shrugs*

Not quite podium but my overall best this week.

I’m really liking the minis on race A this week. Everything happens so slowly that there’s time to think about tactics. Tonight I had a race where I was in a very close second place but just couldn’t get past down the straight. so I decided not to go past and ease off and follow him, really close, down the straight and through turn one. I did this for three or four laps. It was easy to see a big gap that I could squeeze though as he was going wider than me on the way into turn two. The closer I got the more sketchy he got into turn two. I didn’t manage to get past in the end but I nearly did and it was serious fun trying.
Note: if you are going to play this sort of game you better be good on the brakes and/or apologising. As you may screw up more than just your race.
.....but it’s a risk I’m willing to take :D

Work got busy out of nowhere so been like solid 10hr days there and bathroom reno at home. The little gaming time i have had has gone to rdronline and dirt 2.0 due to the lack of races i was interested in being on offer. Still keeping one eye on you guys though lol

Bathroom should be done this weekend and then i just need to paint the kitchen before i am allowed to do the basement (build a replica of pigems set up) the whole room needs to be redone to accommodate a permanent rig

I enjoy seaside but apparently nobody knows how to brake on that track. Ive been divebombed so many times that i want to go full nuclear and take no prisoners in my next race but then i end up just racing more assholes..

Why use your brakes when the guy in front already has his on?
I hate it when that happens, sometimes it’s just an error. Sometimes it just the guy behind being a dick.

A lot of fun at Goodwood, in this race was so plenty that change tires to make fast lap as in F1, hopefully earn points hahaha
PS: I love Alsace

I just had an though, what if PD gave us an in Race “Ghost” button? As in having the ability to assign a button that can ghost your own car on command for a second or two in the event of something crazy happening in front of or behind you that you don’t want to get caught up in. Think that would solve more problems than it would cause? You could in theory ghost out on a dive bomber, or do it when the guy in front of you wrecks/spins out and becomes an unavoidable wall. :)

I’m glad I didn’t too, the ghosts always mess me up. Almost every time I’m catching one in the chicane and it blinds you.

Def gotta watch out for the NSX doing a no stopper now lol.

Thanks you too, had some fun races once the rooms stopped being a crash fest.

I haven’t tested out tire strategy yet. Maybe tonight I’ll see if I can do a no stop. At 9 laps my tires are almost perfect, my line/style is very easy on tires. Just gotta see how much time I lose per lap after lap 9. If I can keep it under 1:16’s with a no stop it might work.

Yeah never happen, say I want to pass @Pigems cause he out qualified me, boom! I am behind you and you are nervous and make a mistake, ghost through you...winning!

You can kind of use the start button like that I think.

Not sure I like the idea. Ghosting avoids the problem but the problem is still there.

In my experience I'd say that 50% of dive bombs are accidental. ie misjudged slipstream or car hit by another, hitting you, etc...

My guess is a large part of the remaining 50% think it's part of racing. The game basically allows dive bombing in 1 player mode and isn't really clear that you shouldn't do it in Sports Mode beyond a vague "don't do things that make you look bad" suggestion.

Also it's not a hard thing to identify. A car bumps another off the tarmac and gains position. Pretty easy to trigger a DQ when that happens. Not sure why they let it happen to be honest.

Interesting idea. but what happens when everyone ghosts T1 Monza and unghosts at the same time. Half the grid would get shoved off the track.
