A lot of racing tonight. I had a few ok races. I even got a better qualifying lap. 1:17.7xx. (Toyota 86)

I noticed myself that I was getting tired. In one race I started 3rd but somehow messed up the big right hand turn. I hit the brake as normal but my car didn’t wanna turn. I fell all the way to last.

I fought myself to play one more race...

I still can't get under 1.18 at willow. I don't know why but like i keep saying, i am off pace in the race cars. I should be at least .5 faster judging by my friends list..... tried the lambo and am about to try the tt, stupid fwd.....

The NSX is a nice compromise between the two. It handles well. Believe it or not, the Viper actually isn't too bad at Willow.

I returned to the scene of last nights' crimes & did some more qualifying. I've been thinking about the Viper all day & gave it a try. It really isn't that bad, but on cold tires in a race on the first lap, all bets are off. I qualified in the Viper with a 18.2xx. I feel like my Corvette would be a tad faster. But, I got locked out because maintenance was 15 minutes away. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Ok... so, the kart only works for me with TCS all the way to 5. I can get as low as 56.2 this way. With TCS on 3, I can get to 56.7-ish. And with 0? Welp, 56.9 :dunce::dunce::dunce:.

So I swallowed my pride and ran a couple this way. Managed to get a win plus two 2nd place finishes (would be three wins if some dude hadn't pushed me and I didn't messed it up in the last try).

Missed yesterdays music discussion. I've got a little something for all my fellow GTP metalheads. If this don't get your blood pumping and make you want to put the pedal to the metal I don't know what will. Without further ado,

I ran my first daily races in a very long time, and I had a good time. Qualifying means so much at Willow, so you can't get stuck in the midfield mess. I'm at a 1:17.2, and hopefully I can get into the 16s at some point this week. Great combo.

Like you I was away from GTS for a long time until recently. Always liked Big Willow and just managed a 17.1 right before maintenance. Looking forward to racing there this week. I see you're a Florida fan, Go Gators. :D

Couple of interesting points in todays update:

4. Sport Mode
 - 'Time Trial' has been added to 'Sport' mode. Various events will be hosted within the Time Trial section.

- A penalty reason message will now be displayed when receiving penalties.

Very interested in both of these 👍 Particularly the penalty reason message.

"You were dive bombed but the other car crashed off the track so you get the penalty alright?"

Reason: Because we feel like it.

Probably will say Collision or Off-Track like we didnt already know that lol.

If anyone can help me take turn 4 (the tight right hander) like I know what I'm doing I'd greatly appreciate it.

Watched videos and still can't get it. I reckon I'm losing a full second on that corner alone.

Had a few podiums last night too - if I could get this corner right it'd make all the difference.

The only hint I can give you is you have to be coming up the hill well, break about the light pole on the right (whatever that big black tower thing is) and I have to time it based on my speed and traffic level, but there is a spot there where you simply turn blind and accelerate and you get a perfect line and launch. Get it reasonable most laps but you have to be super careful about breaking in a fairly straight line and off the brake when turning to nail it quickly. Then again I've still got at least a half a second or more to catch on my average laps, still sitting at an 18.6 in the WRX. Drives so stable and comfortable I can't be bothered chasing the extra speed since I keep passing lots of explorers heading off in the california desert in the faster but less stable cars.

Ooooo... checking it out right now.

There is:
Porsche 930 at Nordschleife (super lap)

Civic Type R at Willow Springs: Streets of Willow (super lap, tuning ALLOWED)

It's also you vs. The world.

I look forward to making videos on these. :)

Thanks dude, I'll give it a shot!

I'm far from doing well here, but focusing on the inner ripple strip (right hand side) it's almost a jagged point near the end where the radius tightens right up.
Since I started aiming at that apex point I'm finding consistency at least, if not speed.

Thank you all who jumped on and watched my stream. Not the week for competitive dailies by the looks of things. Daily C, as I had my strategy down, I streaked away in the Audi with little competition, which is a bit of a shame as I love GR1 races. So I went hunting for some fun in Daily B, which I took the Viper out and won a race! Unexpected but happy to bring the Viper home in first at Willow

Bah, forgot about the update although the banner was annoying me all evening yesterday  So copying GTS instead of getting a few morning races in sigh. So slow.

Time trial added to sport mode, hmm, more reason for people to stay away from actually racing. I guess I'll do a few laps on the Nord but will quickly get bored of it. I can do time trials any time and seeing how crap I am against the best in the world doesn't make it any more exciting  I suppose you still can't do the sport mode time trials in VR? That would have made it better.

As for reason for penalty: DR.B driver rolled a 12 sided dice, DR.A driver rolled a 6 sided dice and lost, then rolled a 5 sided dice, 3 sec penalty.

I wonder if it's going to say it for every SR Down as well, advantage gained? Blocking a faster car with your rear bumper? You look bad?

So much fun. Great format. 👍

A brief summary on how it worked - I chose DT Seaside/Gr.4. It was best of 7. I won race 1 thanks to the Chicane of Death. Lost 3 in a row. But somehow came back to tie it after switching to grid w/ false starts. Final race came down to the final turn. I went for it but made too much contact. Final score 4-3. @Pigems with the victory.

It's different. It's fun. It feels like a 1 v 1 street race. Someone please challenge @Pigems next. You won't regret it.

I'll do it. It will give us an excuse to do something we've discussed before. He's faster that I am. Could he beat me in a GR4 car while I used a GR 3 car? However, I've improved since that discussion.

I think it be good for me to race him 1 v 1. @Pigems what say you?

I’m down to try whatever! Will you be on tonight?
