I'm at 55.666 now for Race A, so a lot of people are going to see this ahead of them

Flipping heck that's a tough lobby. And my qualy time is three tenths off yours. I'd cry if ended up in that one.

I'm close to tears! i've just gone from 15th to 9th (with #16 on my car) and constant low 01:17s against a predominantly A+/S lobby and got 194 DR for it. I kind of get why people drop SR to get DR now because you're damn sure i'll lose 1000DR for coming last at some point. To be fair the racing has been top class and i've enjoyed the experience... i just wish i got rewarded better for it.

Just wait, it only gets worse as your DR increases. Once you cross over 50k it gets pretty bad. But the times that I've been above 60k it's just ridiculous. I've won races before that only gained me 50DR, and lost several hundred for coming 3rd. Very few A+ drivers participate in daily races, so the game expects you to win almost every time. Once I had 2 disconnects in a row and lost 3000DR on each one.

You never know, they might fix the calculation in tomorrow’s update. Ha. Hahah. Hahahhahaha.

I jest... I do love this game, warts and all!

@O604 That was awesome man!! Came right down to the final corner of Race 7 to decide it too. Well done man, that was a lot of fun!
So much fun. Great format. 👍

A brief summary on how it worked - I chose DT Seaside/Gr.4. It was best of 7. I won race 1 thanks to the Chicane of Death. Lost 3 in a row. But somehow came back to tie it after switching to grid w/ false starts. Final race came down to the final turn. I went for it but made too much contact. Final score 4-3. @Pigems with the victory.

It's different. It's fun. It feels like a 1 v 1 street race. Someone please challenge @Pigems next. You won't regret it.

Nah, going from X/O to L2/R2 is really simple, and a lot more comfortable for long races. Thrown in motion control for steering and it's a breeze.

Definitely more braking and acceleration control with L2/R2.
The degree of difficulty is increased when L2 & R2 is what you've been using for shifting, so the fingers and thumbs both need reprogramming.

I'd like to try this, it sounds fun. Maybe best of 5 though. If any of you guys see me online later this week (starting tomorrow) call me out and let's do this 1v1 stuff.

edit: another fun way to do it would be to switch tracks and maybe even cars every time, letting the loser choose the combo. Or agree upon car types ahead of time, and switch tracks each race.

I’m in! I should be on tomorrow night, it was definitely a ton of fun. Here’s what we did, we each did one hot lap in the beginning to decide who had pole for race 1, from there it was alternating pole using grid starts with false start check, 1 lap races, best of 7. I can’t wait to do the next one already. :)

Sounds good. Unless my plans change drastically, I should be playing starting tomorrow late-afternoon/evening ish and will be racing well into the night.

Really enjoying this group of Races, if only because Sardegna isn't one of the tracks. Managed a podium placing on my first attempt at Race C, admittedly it was partly to do with the amount of drivers rammed off the track in front of me from drivers behind me. There seems to be a lot of drivers, specifically those with no driver rating, deliberately ramming others off the track. I've noticed this over the last month or so, and I think PD needs to work on the matchmaking system so that those who have been playing the game properly aren't lumped in with these idiots.

First attempt!

Race B has been a bit more of a challenge. I do like Willow Springs, but I do struggle to be competitive on this circuit. It certainly doesn't help how unforgiving the dust is when you go even slightly off the circuit. Managed a 3rd placing with the McLaren 650, but have switched over to the Jag. The circuit seems to suit rear driven vehicles and straight up power.

Putting a billboard that reads "Balloon Rides Next Right" next to a race track was probably not a good idea...

Had some great dogfights in one particular race, against both greendog and another racer in a 458. Things came to a head on the Sweeper, heading to the final corner, on both occasions both drivers continually blocked me all the way down from the Balcony. I managed to get around on the right side, only for both drivers to then veer right into my car as if unaware I had pulled alongside them. Both bounced off like ping pong balls into a high speed cloud of dust. I ended up with a 5 second penalty from one incident, but only lost one place given the gap between drivers.

Hey, uhhh, about that 1v1, wanna do it with the 2019 Supra instead of Gr. 4 cars?
I am definitely not good with the 2019 supra... :D

Did we also agree to a day when we can do the 1v1? I already forgot...:ouch:

I think we said on the weekend sometime? I can’t remember now either lol. But I’m usually on most nights. :)

As for the combo, I’m down for whatever. 👍

Edit: How about Supra at Kyoto Yamagiwa?

Do you race them?
I tell ya I’m old and something way more tame than those is hell of a workout for me after 2-3 laps.
130 cc air cooled no gears...Easy to spin on hard slicks if you don’t watch it...
Actually in game on nice pedals the kart seems to love throttle to me I actually haven’t tried tcs at all or adjusted bb at all.
To me it feels ‘karty’ but I don’t race karts.
Just goof around. They beat me up too much.

I drove some 125ccm-Rotax karts without gears but I had no problems with wheelspin. Even with slicks on wet surface.

Haven't had the time to read all the messages here, first time on this forum (should have been here earlier) and so good to see the really active discussions.

Finally got around to get PS+ last week and I have to say I am massively hooked on the online races right away (finding it really hard not to think about it during work hours)

Really enjoyed the Nurburgring and Sardegna last week, was feeling particularly good in discovering a good line to tackle the last corner at Sardegna. I had a goal of learning how to race properly (aside from just driving fast) from the very beginning so I was more focused on having clean races compared to really going for gaps aggressively.

However I have encountered some racers that seemed to have focused on the latter, and got bumped off a few times with penalties on me. I eventually for demoted to SR C and it became even more difficult, as the system seem to pair drivers with similar DR and SR levels in races (completely logical). Despite having perfected the lap as much as I can (starting regularly in the top 5 and even front row half of those times), there seems to be always someone from behind who were unwilling to slow down for corners and used me to get around the corner. Often the time that I need to recover back to the track from gravel are far greater than what the penalties that cost them.

Finally got back to SR B with the kart race this week with several consecutive clean races, and really enjoyed the good clean racing. I have found the karts no less challenging than the cars as it seems to have amplified most inputs, from steering angles to throttle. I was really happy to nail the qualifying time down to 56.1 and loving Tsukuba more and more with each lap

I'm down to do it on Sunday. :D

I like the added commentary/tips in your kart video. "Don't ask me how many times I spun out".:lol::lol:
 I lost count how many times I spun out. I was going super tryhard to get that 55 second time haha.

Of all the cars to drive, the first one I break into the 1:17's with is the GT-R. Hate that car and it took 3 tries to get a clean race bonus in it as well. First of all it hates the final turn, got to brake quite a bit not to go off, plus the left in the middle needs quite some braking as well which makes you an easy tap from behind SR Down target. It is stupid fast on the straights though, just hates corners.

7th place is my best so far from the back, SR still unchallenged although I frequently finish with all red ratings around me. It's Mad Max alright, watch out here comes another 86 driver trying to get back to the front.
