Hey thanks! I saw a Viper no qual in the pre race...I kinda figured it was you! It was nice to share the track with you!
Nice fastest lap, and what ten overtakes lol!
Did you run a race with that Q time? If yes where were you with it on the grid?
ThxSorry, haven't been on here since monday. I ran my first and only race today, and it placed me at 10th. Top of my grid was a DR B with 1:48.1xx so I think I can def. get up to 5th place or so if I have the time to do more qualis.
Anyway, I went with the Atenza for said race and tried a no-stop. Stuff goes well on 1st lap and hit 6-7th place until the tight chicane at the the end where I lightly bump a car at the front due to a crowded track. 3s penalty. Drop to 13th.
I manage to make my way back up to 7th until I get punted off track by some idiot. Back to 13th. I get back up to and finish at 10th.
I think I'm flat on DR gain/loss after all that so I'm totally ok with it.
I accidentally bumped a French driver in a Citroen GT twice yesterday. First a British driver parked on apex in turn 1 and blocked me so I went p4 to p8, then on my way back up I was behind the Frenchman into t1 and he does the same. I tapped him and he revenge tapped me right back when I slowed to let him pass. Then again in T5 he parked on apex and the same thing happened. I apologise after race and he says "lazaruskie we will meet again!!".
Ready to be seen as a bad driver.
My epiphany was working out that I have to learn corners as a set, not individually. Often, the fast way through a set involves going what seems quite slowly through a corner early in the set to set up the optimum entry/exit in a later corner....But I'm not A rated yet, not in my view. Too often other racers can disappear in a couple corners, too often I lose the line and get out of shape. It just feels to me that there's a corner or two on any given track that I just don't "get" and everybody else does....
The race before I was in p4 and the guy in p3 stopped on the way to start so the whole field from 3 to 15 was standing still until the countdown was finished. Then he proceeded to ram every one who passed him. Fortunately he ran himself off in the back straight of lap 1 ,I wonder if its the same guy I had 'fun' with a couple of days ago... Autopolis, Lap 4...
For me he parked it in the middle of the track through T8. I had no real intention or expectation to make a pass but ended up having to make a really late move up the inside, if it was premeditated it would be borderline divebomby, but he left the door open and in the end it was the only place I could actually go! If he'd hit the apex and flowed through as normal then we'd both have been fine. But he almost came to a full stop! I guess he realised he'd got it wrong, was going to run way wide and just slammed on all the anchors!
In the end it was actually a nice pass! I slid through with minimal contact - I mean, considering my options were that or punt him to the shadow realm as SuperGT refers to it, I chose the better option for us both.
He took exception and tapped me on the entry through pretty much all the last corners!
Oh and the squabble if you will, was over P10. I didn't really care. I was just bringing the car home!

Edit: Preaching to the converted of course![]()
The 3 frontrunners where 6 seconds ahead. That one sounds like a Autodrive fail to me. (supposedly fixed in the most recent update!) Not sure he would have had much control over the stopping and backing everyone up issue.
The ramming afterwards however...
The only problem with the autodrive failure was that the 3 frontrunners where 6 seconds ahead.
@JoeyLeonine, @RacingGrandpa I encountered the same failure(?) a few weeks ago (Daily, Interlagos GR3). The guy stucked on the grid three times in a row. For everyone behind him the race was over before it started. Too much time loss. After the glitch(?) he raced clean though.
The next race I tried it (Maybe its a connection thing then.
I don't know. When you're in Autodrive awaiting the countdown you have no control, do you?
Or so I assume, so I've never tried. Unless anyone else knows of any nefarious ways to game that area in anyway, gotta assume it's a glitch somewhere!?
Had one of those first race of the week at Autopolis, whole field sat in rolling start formation until the end of the countdown with no movement, caught half the field by surprise. Gained four places on that start, more by good luck than good management.I mean, that is a sucky one. At least with the 'total carnage' failures everyone is affected....
If running a manual gearbox and setting it in neutral this could happen?I mean, that is a sucky one. At least with the 'total carnage' failures everyone is affected.
(I look forward to @Pigems regailing the time he passed @TRL LIGHTNING once more!)

Just ran two race B, mix of Dr/D and C. Everybody made room for each other and the occasional scrape was accidentally. But that's daytime. Night time is Cutthroat Island without the pretty sight of Geena to soften the blow.Unmercilessly we will take you to your slumber, but only if you can recite Avagadro's number.... The inmates have been running the asylum this week. It's been a string of epic fails on the part of race fixing this week for Race C. Combined with limited success in my quest to find a car that I could actually A) keep in the track, and B) finish the race with. Closest I came was the Vantage. I'd had enough. I'd been haemorrhaging DR all week and splashed to the four winds on more than one occasion by DR/Bs who feel it's their birthright to drive through "lesser" track occupants like they arn't there. No race reports 'cause the whole experience was far too depressing. Life? don't talk to me about life....
Anyhoo, I started a new quest. To find my peeps. They seem to shy away from Race Cs, so I figured I'd find them lurking in race B. I did some tentative laps with the M4, entered, and found them! No mass of explosives or trophys... just the one. My less than spectacular time had me starting P10/15 on a grid of DR/Ds with a few Cs thrown in.
The race was hectic. I got into it with a few people on some of the corners, but things were kept clean. Any scrapping was obviously accidental. I obviously wasn't being brave enough in a few places, because I suddenly found myself passed by a train of 3 cars. I managed to get some sort of rhythm together and gain some places. The final nail in the coffin of the race was the guy in front getting a penalty on the final lap after the penalty box. That gained me an extra position. I had enough of a gap that the guy who was at one stage side by side with me, missed out and finished after Mr Penalty. P7 with a clean race bonus 👍.
SR still on 99, DR went up a couple of hundred. Another day above DR 1.
