@MIE1992 the cars in the top 10 are the fastest qualifying. That's not necessarily the same as the best racing car. Also, you might very well be faster in a slower car than you would be in the META, unless you really are an alien.

Totally agree! Last week at Brands the Megane Gr4 was just as fast as the Scirocco for me in quali but the Scirocco was hands down the best for the race. Neither the Megane Gr4 nor the Scirocco were the META cars of the day. I've used the Megane Gr4 this week in races (which is META this time) and tried the Jag F-Type on quali. I just can't get the Jag down the dipper confidently enough to race it. So yeh, top ten quali is one thing, your own preference, ability and actual race conditions are another.

Didn't someone here (@Pigems perhaps) suggest last week that if you use a car in a daily race then the qualification time that is used on the grid should be the time you got in that actual car? So, I may get a 2 min lap in car A and a 2 min 1 sec lap in car B. If I chose to race in car B then when the grid is being populated it's the 2 min 1 sec time that is used to place me.

When I was on DS4, I was using chase cam.

When I started using the wheel, and to this day... I am still on chase cam.

I’ve tried going back to chase cam with my wheel, I can still drive that way, but not nearly as well.

It wasn’t me but I wouldn’t be opposed to Q times being tied to the car they are set in. You could still have you PB be the one that counts on the leaderboard that way. :)

The mountain with the Huracan is a blast, but I'm spoiled by AWD and have lost my throttle finesse for RWD. Hot lapping in the Aston put my backward a few times. Granted- Panorama is a difficult circuit for RWD anyway, but I'd really like to master it.
I'm the opposite, I can get good times with the metas and things like the Hurrican, but I don't seem to be able to be consistent in anything other than the FR's

I guess you have no rear view mirror in 3rd person? I see them coming in the mirror first to start avoiding, then the radar to fine tune dodging. No clue why PD doesn't allow mirror in roof cam and 3rd person. You don't actually look at it, but any sudden suspect movement is easily caught from the corner of your eye. I would not want to drive without a mirror.
Which is why I use bumper cam. I was using roof cam when I first started playing GT games but finally got tired of being surprised by cars coming from behind. It took only a few days to get used to bumper.

Two races on B today, one CRB, one blue S. The first gained two places, would have been the same on the second but for some reason just plain forgot to brake until way too late going into Forest Elbow on the last lap.

I really struggle when it comes to descending that bloody mountain. So much so I eventually piped for a FF car just to see what would happen.

Well golly gosh. Finally a controlled descent!

I went Scirocco because I just hate that Megane on principle of its really really really boring stock livery and most people's laziness to make/download their own for it!

Got abused by a Vette between Forest and the Chase but c'est la vie! I still enjoyed racing in it.

Re: Penalty system - very lenient down under this week. Had a massive wreck of about 5-6 cars at Hell Corner. We all ended up in the sand/grass/escape lane. No one penalised. Though in fairness, it probably just couldn't work out who to blame. It was a mess.

@Supergtp You drive a McLaren in race B? What's your psn, I got passed very cleanly in the final left before the straight this morning by a Mclaren, the first one I have seen in Daily race B.

And I enjoy a car viewed as an underdog, so I might start using this one.

Not sure! What is your rank? I have two accounts, my main one (GTS_Super_GT) and one that I have reserved for GT Sport solely (Super-MP4). I was racing on my MP4 account on the McLaren.

Edit: adding more stuff. Would love to see a fellow 650S driver, it's a very good car. Just underrated because there's better MR options but IMO it's a good beginner's MR (for Gr.3). Neat little all rounder

even if 3rd person worked better I just don’t get it.

Preferences. I've used chase cam in driving games for as long as I remember so switching to another view would be a difficult change to make. I also like to see the car I'm driving as opposed to, well, nothing.

On a lesser note, I wouldn't be able to see the rear of my beautiful liveries, either.

You should be looking at the road/surroundings, not your car. ;)

No racing for the past couple of nights. Tried a few cars but just can't seem to get comfortable with the Mountain like I did with the GT-R. Came close with the 'vette, but struggling with Skyline. I usually end up fishtailing after the turn in. Get it right and I'm golden all the way to Conrod. Maybe tomorrow .

Not sure if I'll get more in before work today but that's ok.... cuse my three races to start the day were fantastic. Had a top ten guy on pole for each race and a field of trusted names behind me. Three podiums and a nice smile on my face to start the day. The races were not completely incident free, but when everyone is on the same page it makes those situations far less impactful on all involved, and even the rest of the pack. It was really nice after the amount of rough races i have been in this week to have some nice, hard, fair competition.

Turismo-drenzo, if your reading this, great racing this morning

And to the rest of y'all.... Happy friday:gtpflag::cheers:

That's what the replay is for.:D

Seriously though, if you are having trouble at Skyline in 4WD and RWD why not try the Megane, Scirocco or other FWD? I know some folks are "Anti META" or just don't like FWD cars but if it works why not use it? As I posted above, I am setting decent times in the F-Type, I love the sound of the Ferrari, I like the acceleration out of corners on the Lambo but over Skyline as you switch direction and the car lightens up (ground vanishes from under) where I was most likely to mess up the race nothing has come close the FWD.

RC-F is currently no.1 alien in Asia/Oceania for race B. Since it's long been my favourite but I've not driven it much in the last few weeks, I gave it a try. It works well at Mt Panorama :D but you need quick reflexes, the Gr.4 is twitchier than it used to be before the last physics change. Kinda odd, as the Gr.3 seems to be more of a boat since the last change.

My preferred cam is bumper. I used to do hood but I needed the mirror to see potential moves from people behind me. I could go back to it, just need to adjust.

I did do chase cam when I first started. I’m a GTAV racer as well. I thought it would be fine but never got the hang of it. I’m slower in chase cam

It’s truly astounding how readily the penalty system will let off an intentionally toxic driver while penalizing a driver doing their very best to run a clean race.

If PD had announced an improved penalty system to go alongside the Spec II release today they would’ve been lauded as gods among mortals.

I just spent about 15 minutes lapping St. Croix B to get reacquainted with the track before next week's races. What a nice track! It's plenty wide, and the scenery is nice, too. 👍 It's a pretty fast track, but has a couple of corners that are deceptive, as to how sharp they are.
I was using the AMG, with next week's settings, and I was @ 2:12. The problem is that the race is scheduled for 3 laps.
So, it's gonna be another 7 minute race B. smh

Yup, missing that bit of extra daily for the last 3 weeks I always feel as though things climaxed prematurely.:boggled:

Sometimes you're worse off when the penalty system actually works.

He still finished 2 places ahead of me despite being over a second slower per lap. That brake check cost me 15 seconds, while maybe the 10 sec he got in total, only costs you 4 seconds at the penalty zone.

Bring the DQ system back. Do something like that and disqualified, disconnected.

Here's another one. Friday's aren't nice anymore.

Penalty zones are a fail. They create dangerous situations and only give dirty drivers the rest of the lap to mess up your race when they get caught. Oh, he reported me for 'cheeting'

He had cooled down next race, said sorry, all good.

Then I got called a 🤬 by a Brazilian after I called him out for his dirty driving. Bumps me out of the way in the final turn to take the position (I get SR Down) then blocks my pass to the finish pushing me into the wall. (I get SR Down) It's every race now :( It was still a good race, he gave a good clean challenge, just couldn't accept the fact he was beat and had to perform a last turn barge pass.

I think just about everybody can relate to this. You're on pace to set your personal best lap time, and then on the last possible turn....... :banghead:

It wasn't gonna be a great time, in terms of the rankings, but whether you're fast or slow, it will happen to you too (some of us more than others).:lol::lol:

Nice job sending the cone into space. I think it may have crossed the line ahead of you.

Thinking of knocking crap over, I'm constantly losing time coming into Griffins because the 150, 100 & 50 markers have been taken out of it by rally cross drivers. I'm going to have to find braking points that are fixed in place.

I’m 1000% in favor of bringing in a DQ system for online races. It’s abhorrent that a driver can destroy everyone else’s experience with little to no actual repercussions.
