Anybody in Asia had a go at Race C? Looking to do some @Sven Jurgens style drive from the back races, but without his raw speed. How nasty/clean or empty are they? Sitting at low A SR so looking to cruise and learn track from the back while taking advantage of the spinners and rage quitters.
Oh, damn I'm at work, but I would definitely do that with you. I gotta learn your racing schedule.

This is my first race in EMEA.

I'm up 20 SR points from two races.

ETA. I need to find about 2 seconds a lap but hopefully that will come through the week.

Remember that the FIA races are just run by a very small percentage of the online racers.

I mean according to KudosPrime, roughly 81% of players haven’t done a Sport Mode race. I suppose that could say something. Also, when KudosPrime says I’m in the top 3%, that’s counting the literal millions of player who haven’t finished a Sport Mode race, right?

But I think it still makes sense that PD focuses on the groups that appear the most often in the FIAGTCs since those championships are meant to be in the spotlight as far as GT Sport goes. Basically, I see the FIAGTCs as being fancy adverts for GT Sport (and/or its successor) as being an eSports platform, ideally attracting more entities who would organize championships with notable prizes involved, like with the GR Supra Cup. Hopefully it’ll be so that those two championships, like from Alonso and Playstation Italy, wouldn’t need to use the lobbies, and/or could have a better infrastructure in general. Like an ability to create your own championship and scoring system - stuff like that. Maybe that - and many other features - are being worked on as we speak for the next GT game.

It can be a bit mysterious. You don’t know how PD is managing their resources, so it very well could be that stuff that’d really benefit GTS is being worked on for the next title, while GTS has a much leaner portion of PD’s staff assigned to it at the moment.

It still feels as if GTS is like a “super-demo,” where it’s clearly not a demo as we know it, but perhaps more like a concept car than a test drive of a production model. Still very interesting overall, and an admirable effort to get GT to break into eSports if I ever saw it.

So would I. I do mostly shift work so allover the place. Might get a couple morning races in at the end of the week when I have a couple of night shifts but we shall see. Those would be around your afternoon. Can't remember where you are, eastern Canada, Ontario or West coast

I see how it is. I did a couple races at noon and suddenly there's a whole bunch of A+/S drivers and rest A/S drivers filling the daily B room showing off there 2:08 and 2:09 qualifying times. Too chicken to race in the rain, now all present for a 6 minute parade under perfect conditions. Suits me, I'm learning the track from the back while having plenty time between races to catch up on all the stuff I ignored last week! I'm cycling through all my cars as well to change them all back to dry tires since the game lets me start on heavy wets now.

So far I went from needing the mini map to see where I was going and a best lap of 2:25 to catching up on a few people with a best lap of 2:12. However the front all still goes 2:09. PD shouldn't post the races in advance :)

Not a bad track, it's dry though. I miss the rain.
To be fair, I was spending all week trying to improve my time there haha. Please forgive me! :(

I'd be cool with that.

I've been saying for a long time that I'd love to have a race D, where you never know the track or car until you enter. Everyone gets to watch the roulette wheel spin, once the sign-up countdown ends.

You wouldn't see too many A+ guys at that race, either.
If you're A+ and are not in it (for the memes), then you're definitely not invited to the party.

Hop laps is here!

I hope you don't mind towing me along. You're too fast!!!

If I can just figure out the 1st hairpin I think I’ve got it, the car keeps coming to a stop on me right around the apex lol.

@Mistah_MCA What BB are you using? I started on +2 but I’m currently at 0.
I was at +2. That first turn is tricky as heck. I brought the car in to the apex and tried to be smooth with the turning, braking, acceleration. If done right, yhe car will glide through that turn and still have enough grip to get a good exit.

It is also critical that you use the BRZ and not the 86, you traitor.

Next Fuji race, I'm running from the back, with zero practice, in the 908.

For anyone on the American servers, avoid Y_Dyn_Barfog like the plague, for the first lap...
I was surprised to see 5 people rage quit in our race. Like holy heck, man!!!

It would be tough to coordinate, I guess. I usually work 50-55 hours a week, so on days I work, there's not a lot of time for racing before or after work. I don't work on Thursdays or Fridays, so I mostly race then.
I'm in California.

Whoops, missed that one, all over the place today. Not sure when I next have mornings free to race at the start of the week but will check and see if you're on next time. Need to get my SR up to have a hope of geting in a lobby near your rank anyway right now:scared:.

This reminds me of how nice it’s be to have a favoriting feature for replays

It could be perfect if they made 1 of the following alterations. One, put a heart or a separate category for those videos. I have so few wins that I am not ready to delete any of them.

So I bought a 55 inch LED 4K UHD TV yesterday and i gotta say GT looks goddamn amazing.

I've had one for 5 years & can tell you that GT 5 & 6 don't look too shabby either. I had a mad thought to buy a new 8K TV knowing that the PS5 will be here next year. :mischievous:

My wife specifically told me don't buy anything, because she wants me to wait for PS5 and get the highest "K" tv for it. ;)

And what about the GT-R LM Nismo? I wonder why people say it's so bad in GTS when it doesn't have to deal with the real-life drivetrain issues that it had?
Because it was bad in reality too. It qualified 20 seconds behind the 919, and one of the cars was actually out qualified by an LMP2 car. It's slooooooooow.

But wasn’t that just because of a mechanical issue with the drivetrain? Why would a car in GT have the same mechanical issues? Shouldn’t the GT-R LM Nismo be performing as Nissan intended when it comes to its portrayal in GTS?

I think 8K will be around for some time. Samsung has already released new 8K models for over a year & a half. And that's not to mention that no consumer video camera can do 8K videos & the pro cameras that can cost more than most cars.

Just by looking at the miles driven each day, you can pinpoint the exact moment/day I got insanely frustrated with getting good lap times.

Hint: look at today's miles.

TRUST. My Wife is all over the cost. :)

Me, waiting 8 minutes for the next race after you just finished one in 6.

Wonderful night of racing. This St. Croix track is such a joy to drive on; especially with all its S P A C E. Getting the line right just flows soooo well.
Set a really good quali time for me thanks in large part to @Mistah_MCA 's ghost that I chased, so thanks for staying in the top 10 today!

First race out I snagged pole and ended up collecting the holy trinity for my first time.

Next race the matchmaking bumped me up into an A/A+ lobby with some of the top 10 NA drivers. Started 7th and was doing well until a Supra spun out going onto the bridge and collided with me before ghosting which slapped me with a 3s penalty and dropped me to 12th. Managed to work my way back to 10th, but ended with a red SR :/

Third and last race of the night put me back into the B lobby and at pole again. 2nd place held on really well for a lap and a half but then I nailed my entrance to the bridge and the downward right hander afterwards which put a nice gap to 2nd. Finished with another holy trinity and my 2nd victory of the night.

So I had thekie25 racing from the back in Fuji today. Only reason I won is because he started second to last and went for a no stopper lol.
I'm having trouble with fuel with Toyota. I end up saving way too much ending the race with +1 laps or fuel to spare hahaha

Race(ing) Room

My first race was in the Ford GT. Had some back and forth with that GT-R below. He/she quickly found out I race fair, clean and don't block. Things got tight all race and the GT-R gave room and was patient. I finished a couple spaces ahead in 6th.

The second race below(with video) was awesome. I was fortunate to have a few courteous players. Check the finish time. Also, the video shows me ahead, but the places swapped after we crossed the line. Maybe finish was awarded alphabetically?

In all testing, qualifying and the race the Nissan was the slowest LMP1 by a huge margin. If by "mechanical issues" you mean a fundamentally flawed design with half baked execution, then yes.

The car only ever raced at Le Mans and only once. Two of the cars retired, one crossed the line. The one that did cross the line not classified as it had sat in the pits so long it didn't complete the required distance to be classified.

Why should GT rewrite history by making the car compete with the Audis, Porsche, Toyotas etc.

First run on the Vampire Circuit last night (see if the Canadians can figure that one out :p). Put in a fairly ordinary qualy with the M3 and found myself starting P8/15 on a mixed grid of DR/C and D. I put the midfield start down to Monday. The same time tonight will probably be somewhere in the last 4 positions.

Race wasn't too bad, has it's up and downs ... the ups being the first couple of laps and the downs being the last lap . I started P8, and worked my way up to P4. On the last lap I had managed a 2s gap, nailed the corner coming off the bridge. P4 was *mine*! No it wasn't :banghead:. Yeh, ya know the next corner.. the one that leads on to the fastest section of the track, one of the most crucial corners of the race? I put my foot down just that little bit too early, hit the Armco, slewed across to the other side of the track and continued on, having bled many seconds of time trying to get going again. I wanted to cry. As i slowly came back up to racing speed I was passed by 3 cars. The 3rd I was right behind. He had picked up a penalty, so I finished ahead of him. P6 with no penalties at least.

SR blue, DR went up about 270. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

I completed two C races today. One was a 1-stop on Softs, and the other was a no-stop on Mediums.

After thorough experimenting in the name of science, I have concluded that if you do the no stop on mediums:
-your name starts with Turismo, TRL, CAR, LZR, etc. (your race pace is crazy)

OR

- you are a blithering idiot.

Tires die out at the end, and those who pit on softs are easily on you.

I love Fuji, but this race was wack.

I ran on Softs all race. However, a player with so many Ss in its name, driving a pink & white 919, just smashed me off and a Peugeot I was racing. It smashed me off at T1 and then smashed the Peugeot off after the 130R.

I was comfortably in the top 10 and it just ruined my tyres with that punt. Had to change my strategy from one stop to two. Sucka Emcee, booooy. I tell you!

I'd be cool with that.

Great idea!

I didn't have much time last night so only got a few laps on Croix trying to learn it. Started with Lancer and Beetle just because they are stable, moved to Vantage because I love it, tried Renault (which was slow but absolutely great fun on that track), tried McLaren 650 (meh), NSX (great if you are going for drift points) and finished with GT-R (because). It was an interesting night, going from not knowing the track at all and doing a 2:28 lap only to keep knocking seconds off until I moved to a new car. Finished the evening on a 2:11:1(?) with plenty still to learn. I'm looking forward to racing this track, the flow of it is just great. Even if racing turns out to be super poop I just may set up a start at the back custom endurance race in the Renault just for the fun of it.

Fantastic Beast. Yes... Fantastic Beast.

I said handling can beat speed at this track. That GT-R and Vantage were holding me up everywhere. The lead Atenza was able to dispatch them both, but I had to use more patience. Moved up one place by passing the Vantage. Atenza can really close the gap or extend it, at the Bidet right-hander, after the bridge.

Yeh, that's the corner that cost me P4 last night. The M3 does a fairly reasonable job but that corner needs patience. Other cars in GT lounge I've been able to take it 2 gears higher than recommended, but I had to drop to 3rd :odd:.

Edit: I figured that if I tried hard I could get another second out of the M3 qualifying. First lap out with the Supra I beat the M3 time by nearly 1.5s . A few laps later experimenting, but still not getting the full capability I dropped that by another second . Cornering with the same patience needed with the M3 in 3rd I can take that corner in 4th 👍.

NBN came today, so we'll see if there's any connection issues later tonight when I race :scared:.
