Here is my best lap so far in the Toyota TS050. (1:23.551)

Thought I'd post it as it's the race car of choice this week for Race C and currently there are no times still in the top ten (EMEA) using it, although there was earlier so this is not the quickest you can go in this car. Maybe this will be useful to someone who just wants to qualify and race the same car. :)

Anyone else tried the RCZ at race B? It's a sporty little sucker on that St. Croix track. It goes through that left-right-left section near the end, really quickly. 👍

What a ****ing joyous grind the Hybrid Gr.1 Porsche and Audi are. Same old nonsense of running out of hybrid after a hot lap with no means of changing to a harvesting mode to charge the thing up again. Hot lap>Restart>Hot Lap>Restart>**** off.

Try to drive while also applying a bit of brake pressure, that can at least fill up the Toyota‘s battery, dunno about the Audi

I am starting to feel like i know what i am doing for race A. No time for races but i got comfortable with the combo and managed a decent qt. Looking forward to racing this combo, small ish car on a relitivly wide track....

You can recharge the R18 in the same way. You just need to ride the brakes for a couple of corners and then off you go again. It is arguably quicker to restart after a hotlap but you can absolutely harvest the hybrid system to charge it up.

I've tried riding the brake, moving brake bias, lift and coast, different shifting strategies etc and I cannot recharge it.

Do we have to map a button for the LMP's to use the Kers or Hybrid system for the Fuji event? Starting to realize why I'm always slow in these things haha.. I have never set a boost button :P

The newer R18 charges its hybrid under heavy braking from the rear tires. So rear brake bias is best for recharging. However, some tracks are just made in a way that allows it to run out before the end of the lap with no way to fully recharge it without slowing down too much. If there are several successive corners without any heavy braking zones, your hybrid will be gone. For qualifying, it's usually best to restart after each lap or your ghost will pass you with more juice.

As 250Cal said, it deploys itself. But you will need to map a boost button for other cars, like the Super Formula, F1, Red Bulls, Tomohawk, and a few others. Don't get left in the dust!

I think this is all I got for Fuji... Very satisfied with this lap. My previous one had been knocked out of the top 10, so I got back on to improve. After posting a 23.037, I knew a sub-23 was possible, and less than half an hour later I ended up with a 22.980. Currently sitting in P7 in EMEA. :gtpflag:

It's not a track guide like @Mistah_MCA's, but it's good enough :P

Edit: Vid was just uploaded, so rendering in 720p may take a few more minutes :O

I see how it is. I did a couple races at noon and suddenly there's a whole bunch of A+/S drivers and rest A/S drivers filling the daily B room showing off there 2:08 and 2:09 qualifying times. Too chicken to race in the rain, now all present for a 6 minute parade under perfect conditions. Suits me, I'm learning the track from the back while having plenty time between races to catch up on all the stuff I ignored last week! I'm cycling through all my cars as well to change them all back to dry tires since the game lets me start on heavy wets now.

So far I went from needing the mini map to see where I was going and a best lap of 2:25 to catching up on a few people with a best lap of 2:12. However the front all still goes 2:09. PD shouldn't post the races in advance :)

Not a bad track, it's dry though. I miss the rain.

@Sven Jurgens Race in Race C (aka TS050 one make race) at Fuji instead, I know Fuji isn't the greatest of tracks and the car is easy to spin but the chaos you'll come across starting from the back will make some great videos for here and likely the penalty thread.

From the little I saw earlier (I set a Q time), the penalty system seemed to let all sorts go, well apart from minor corner cuts. Well I got penalties, some others seemed to drive off the track with no issues.

Damn, no wonder my lap times were so slow. Missed out on this proper entry strategy to the Esses.

That entire race was off the wall (no pun intended). The final clip coming down the Conrod to the left was pure panic trying not to give back the position to the Megane. That will be one replay I'll never delete.

Satire, right?

That's why I tend to be a bit more conservative through Skyline.

Being less conservative through Skyline is how I got that awesome line into the esses.

I think I spotted 6" of wall that you haven't hit yet.... :p

Oh no, there is much more than 6" of the wall that I haven't painted with my car.

In that case, you will probably enjoy B, as well. It's a really wide track, so I'm sure nobody will be bumping into any of the other cars.

Requisite for kamakaze driving: turn 1, lap 1.

This reminds me of how nice it’s be to have a favoriting feature for replays

Normally I'm all over GR.1, except when the Nordschleife is on (largely missed it on Sarthe since race B was on the Nord) and when it's Poohji. I've grown to hate that track with a passion. All blind corners with asphalt everywhere, made worse by the low viewpoint of GR.1 bumper cam. The layout is no fun either, it doesn't flow. Not for me anyway. Plus it's always chaos with that many run offs due to cars re-entering the track from all sides with total disregard of who is actually on the track  Yep it does make some great videos for bad driving.

Meanwhile race B is turning into a Nissan GT-R onemake, a car I hate about as much as Fuji  I hope it's an early fad that will change. I'm still swapping tires one race at a time, almost got all the blue colored cars done

@RacingGrandpa Ah, you're racing in the low DR lobbies in Europe. Here in the top lobbies in NA it's all parade style, not much going on. P3 sits at 2:09 lol. Learning the track purely in sport mode races has cost me 9K DR bucks so far, down to 31.8K. Giving back to the community :dopey:

My 2:13 is about 2 sec slower than pole in the lower Dr. Does the lower Dr in NA really run 4 seconds faster than me? I need to up my game I think...

It was pretty amazing how much the EMEA #1 ghost for race A qualifying just helped me. I did about 10 laps on my own first, and got down to 2:12.1. I knew it didn't feel anywhere near perfect, but that was the best I managed. Then I turned the #1 ghost on, and did 5 more laps. My best lap was 2:11.2 and my worst was 2:12.0, i.e. following the ghost improved my driving so much that even my worst lap was 0.2 quicker than my best lap without the ghost. I honestly couldn't tell you what it was exactly about following the ghost that made me so much quicker! 0.4 ahead of Dairyworker, but Mistah_MCA is on another level for this one at 2:10.2.
