As I said a few posts back, there was one in a couple of my lobbies who stormed through the pack - finished 8th and 7th in both races I saw him.

Though it's a bit late to talk about tyre/fuel conservation, I remember @Tidgney saying in one of his videos that heavy braking can also make tyres wear out faster. Can't remember which one (maybe from his 2019 FIA Manufacturers run - Tidge, could you remind us, please?), but learning about this compelled me to practice and build strategies around gentler throttle and brake inputs. On a controller, motion steering and analog triggers (L2 + R2) are my default inputs, and with good reason - the steering feels smoother and more natural than on the left stick, while I can gauge acceleration and braking forces much better than when I used to jam the right stick up and down in GT4-GT6.

Don't forget this (honestly, what was Grosjean thinking?):

I've said it in many livestreams :)! It'll be in the driving school video as well regarding this but you're right, less braking means less tyre wear :).

It’s been a while since I did this but....

How do I find my saved screenshots and video clips?

I know it goes to “Gallery” but don’t remember how to get there!

Thanks

It should be in the same bar as where you start the game from. If you haven't used it in a while it will be all the way to the right. Looks like this

The schools are out, I'm back in SR.A. That backfield is rough in the late afternoon. I'm retrying all the cars I stopped with early in the week to make a no stop best lap comparison. Then the ones again I did a no stop with since I didn't write the lap times down. Excuse to race even more!

Anyway I'm not that fast. Porsche and Citroen so far have gotten me the fastest laps. Mid 2:22 while evenly spreading fuel around.

People braking (and brake checking) through Eau Rouge and Radillon. People who can do 2:28 laps blocking when you try to overtake after you've gone off in the aftermath of their accidents. Just lost 21 SR in one race down to two people just out to wreck people in races. Back to a low SR B. The one downside of Spa this week is the difficulty in retaining and building SR. I've died on that hill this week.

ETA. And now my DR is reset by someone trying to push me off and then driving off the circuit. Nothing to lose now.

The Huracan might be fast, but if you get punted into several slides the first lap, the tires won't last for the last 2 laps.

Abnormally the Genesis has too much fuel and no top speed. It's like you're not moving on the straights. So far only the BMW M6 was slower for me since it barely makes it in FM2 while shifting right as the bar shows and drafting from the back.

Second attempt with the Huracan went much bettert, no slides in the first laps. 4th place finish, no CRB cause of a bumper tapper SR Down. The front runners for me so far

2:22.553 Citroen GT
2:22.557 Huracan
2:22.986 Corvette C7 FM2
2:23.082 Mustang FM2 partly
2:23.185 SLS AMG

No stop from the back. The Porsche will be up there as well once I get to it again. Maybe the Ferrari too.

Meanwhile all CRB achieved on Spa :)

At some point I switched from pit stops to no stops when I was comfortable enough with the track and traffic to turn the radar off and keep an eye on fuel.

They are all fun to drive on Spa!!!

Can you make it to Pigems' lobby races tonight? :)

It's faster to lift. Going flat means the car wobbles a bit and brushes off speed, a slight lift both on the way in (left) and in the middle (right) stabalises the car for full throttle out (left) and that has yielded my best times and my higher speed at the penalty line as a marker point. If i get it right i hit 252 or 253 in the Merc as i hit the yellow markers.
Awesome! Thanks. With lifting I was at about 142-145 mph, so not far off from you. To e for some more qualies!

I wish I could give this more than one like!

I think I might've just committed my dumbest mistake so far in this game.
I was having one of my best races of the week, started P7, secured P4 after the first 3-ish laps, slowly gaining on the TOP 3 who were basically within half a second of eachother, then I go into the pits, completely forget to click "stop refueling" and lose like eight extra seconds for literally no reason.:banghead:

Fortunately I was able to gain back a couple of places and finish 6th but it's still incredibly frustrating to know how much better I could've done if I just paid a little bit of attention to the game during the pit stop. :indiff:

The only way I can have fighting chance with the M6 is FM1 all the way and Brake bias +2. No lifting at Eau Rouge otherwise not enough power to overcome the loss of momentum.

Glad you gave it a shot!

A couple of days ago I clicked "Do not refuel" by mistake, had to do a second stop :banghead: :dopey:

I seriously do not get what to do in Race C. I do a pit stop and finish horribly, I try to no stop and I finish down. What even is the right strategy?

It went very well actually, I finished 5th or maybe 4th (can't check right now). It got in the B/S to D/S. My best lap in FM2 with short shifting was only 2:24.458, mostly 2:25s. It handles very smoothly on Spa and it's about the only car I can take Eau Rouge in without lifting, a

@Sven Jurgens I 2nd this notion! You should come early though, the room’s been filling up really quickly lately. :)

Sorry, it's movie night for us tonight. We're watching the Mule in a couple minutes. PS4 is off. Have fun!
