Just finished Race B. For those of you who like to whine about mismatching, spare a thought for a guy/girl going by the name of FTUL. This poor soul is an S/S, and he/she must have done something *really* bad in a past life, because he got matched up with us! The starting grid comprised of FTUL in pole, then a couple of A/S, and the rest D/S. Someone must have traded paint with them during the race because they finished 4th and someone else in the post race comments apologised to them 4 or 5 times.

Ouch!

In fairness, you only tend to get matched downwards when you are not 99 SR so FTUL and the As must have lost some SR in previous races. That's the risks and, as I said, I had this over the weekend too... should be motivation to avoid dropping for them. Tough finished 4th though!

As for me, I'm not interested in whatever the "beta" car happens to be, I roll in whatever I feel like at the time. This time it was the rexy. Couldn't go out in public in canary yellow, so I had to murder it out first. Qualified 12th, finished 11th. I got a surprise when I suddenly found myself bearing down on 8th, 9th and 10th. Sadly I put on the power too early coming out of a corner and ended up in the kitty litter and was re-spawned *just* as I was about to get back on track.

What's the 'rexy'?
 
A off day to me. No qualify and race paces at all. 3s off top stars. Raced race b once. Started at 9 and finished at 8 (Dr -77). Poor:indiff: Tmr may be a better day.
 
I finally managed to earn the 65 poles trophy today :dopey:

How in tarnation are guys hitting low 2.02s on Nurby GP? I'm not the quickest around there, currently at 2.03.9xx, with some room for improvement to maybe get me to mid 2.03s, but I cannot see how it is possible to go any quicker....

Have you watched some replays of the top 10 guys?

I have indeed and I can't see a discernable difference! The lines are largely the same as mine which is really frustrating! They must be carrying more speed with the same line, while my tyres are screeching as it is!

I hate that... maybe it's gears... higher gear = less wheelspin out of corners?

@xxxman1 the guy at number 1 is 0.5 ahead of 2nd ffs!

Are all using the M4?

Mostly Atenzas...

I'm using the M4 and seem to be the second best M4 behind that Japanese guy at the moment. The Atenzas are killing m4 at the exits of the tighter Corners...

But i don't like nurb gp and the atenza that much, so i have no intentions to try it...

I'm currently 45th in region and 80th on the world leaderboard with a 2.03.9xx, the cut off for top 25 is around 2.03.6xx at the moment so I could get back in fairly easily - the top 10 however are a cut above on this combo and I have no hope today!

Someone needs to throw a cat amongst the pigeons... I like that over the weekend Oscaro_Slent (I think something like that) used the Genesis in group 3 and 4 races :)

Interesting that EU is Atenzas whereas the Asia board has M4, Impreza, WRX as well.

Haha I strive to reach top 10 during the second half of the day. I can get on there during the first half, but I won't be happy until I'm in contention in the evening! I will likely never be happy as I'm self critical by nature, but I do enjoy trying to get there :D may never happen though!

@Robben i just wonder if anyone like to watch the replays for fun. I always do it.:D
watching high rank races are enjoyable especially F1 is off till this Sunday.:cheers:

I usually watch the replays to check out my liveries! haha - but to also see what happened during an incident in the race. I've learned enough by reading the forums here that I shouldn't retaliate because it might be something else beyond the other player's control.....and probably 7 times out of 10, it usually is! Like I wondered why this guy was hard breaking at the beginning of two turns in Interlagos, but when I watched the replay I saw there was a guy in front of him just either lagging or driving all over the place.
 
Not really an eventful race, but for me it was very intense because of the steady pressure from kie25 behind me. You can also see where the Atenza has the upper hand on the M4 on this track:

 
One question, I just managed to become DRS and yesterday in Suzuka I was in a room with 14 other S/S and 6 A/S drivers. I made until now almost 300 races but the hardest room I joined until now was 1/3 DRS and others DRA. Is this expecting me from now on just because I entered DRS? Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of anyone, I love it to race against the top guys. But why I'm asking is, I'm thinking I need to adjust my qualifying time-philosophy maybe. Until now my aim was to get at least 1 sec close to the p10 of the final-evening leaderbord to get a well startplace, but maybe this will not be enough anymore. Yesterday I had a 2.08.6xx and the end of top ten was I think 2.07.6xx, and in that room I described I started only from p11.
