I hate when you cover the inside, and the guy dives up the inside anyways, happened again to me last night at Catalunya. I said something to buddy after the race and his response was “there was a gap, that was a great pass”, even though he had to bounce off me to make the pass, and then blocked my exit. :lol:

Yeap, I´ve had that kind of situation too and it made feel mad for some time. It was a couple of weeks ago, when RBR was on Gr3 daily B. Exiting the hairpin he was faster, so I run to the right side to force him to attack on the left. Probably braked a little earlier knowing that it was going to be harder to make the turn properly on that line. The guy behind me decides to stick to the inside, braking with 2 wheels on the grass... makes lateral contact with me and goes straight to the gravel trap. The game awards me with +5 seconds for "taking another car off the track" when I actually was the one being hit.

I think he doesn't have time to keep up with it, regularly. There are big periods of time with missing data. Sven knows more about it.

Edit: I ran one Qt, started p16, Pitted on lap 1 as p9. The race was absolute carnage while I was in it, so I got into pit asap!

Edit 2: the 12 laps spent in pit got me SR down from lap one. No collision, no excursion. I might have been in someone's way through the Chikane.... From SR A to B without racing.... But CRB and up 4 positions by others quitting.

I did wonder where you went. That was my first Race C. Absolute chaos for the first four laps. I hope someone from PD can actually watch live races to see what a nonsense they are.

OK. So SR is really tough to gain this week. I'm still bleeding.

Didn't realise we'd met!

Just my rubbish line probably, no wonder I'm so slow round Spa - I must brake too early as well, as I get rammed up the backside quite regularly.....

Had 3 races this afternoon, 2 white SRs, 1 blue SR, my SR rating has gone up by 1 point!

This is what we refer to as "dive bombing", correct?
 
And that's the big difference between the top split drivers I was used to and these lower split drivers I was thrown in with. Top split I'll basically let you through mid race if I'm one stopping and you're two stopping. We're not in each others race - I'll do it where I AND you lose the least time and I'll steal you slipstream as you head off up the road. Furthermore if you Lightning and gaining on me at 1-2sec per lap, realistically were also not racing, he's gone off and is moving back up through the field. Also, of course, the faster folks know *where* passing is possible and ok. Usually only two places per lap.

But the lower drivers treat every corner, every car as THE RACE. And you don't know they're like that in these mixed races until you're up and amongst them. I learnt this after the second pile up and tried to stay in between the group of 3 ahead and the four behind. Of course the three ahead are going super slow because they are battling every single inch of track and the four behind just come canon balling into me in one big lump. Result - ANOTHER 5 sec penalty etc.

And that's my point, you don't know how they're going race until it's too late and then boom, DR reset. It's nasty, frankly.

Yes, literally, at Pouhon. You were a bit early on the brakes and wide, so I thought you were leaving the gap but then you didn't, so I nudged you wide.
 
Had my PS4 Pro for 10 days now, and I'm really impressed with GT Sport, it was the right choice over iRacing for me. I have learnt the hard way about DR SR and dive bombing morons and now I am making progress. 50% of my race results are top 5 and I am rated C A at present. Looking forward to seeing some of you in the Daily Races, especially the Brits.

Daily C no stopper is a real test. I'm trying to pace it, with mixed success. Punting means my tyres have taken a pasting during the last two races. I think I'm going to one stop so I can defend myself a bit better.

What tires are you using for a no stop? Try Meds if the front and Hards in the back, that’s what I was doing yesterday.

Is there a pit lane "exploit". I've just followed someone through the final chicane. They pitted, I didn't, and came out of the pit lane 0.5 seconds behind, with fresh rubber, as shown by a sub 1:28 lap time. WTF?!

Like an idiot I've let my replay bank fill up so I couldn't save it. I will share the race though, if only for the most stupid penalty I've had yet, right on the start line!

Not that I know of, but I’ve only done a hand full of races so far. It’s not a long pit stop for just tires though, maybe 10/11 seconds I think?

I hate when the replay bank fills up, for the longest time I couldn’t figure out why clearing mine out didn’t give me all my space back, but then I realized I had a tons of replays on my Alt account that was taking up space. All your accounts work off the same storage bank. :)

I'm sure everyone who had to enter a race with Pastor Moldanado felt the same

But seriously, in the real life versions of gr4 and gr3, and even gr1 the field is populated by real drivers and then drivers that have the money to pay to be there. These are the "gentlemen racers". I guarantee that the pro drivers are not pleased to have them on the grid, no to mention that real pro drivers had to earn their spot.

In this game, as has been pointed out many times, there is a mix of participants from those folks who are doing this in addition to real life racing/lapping all the way down to kids who have no idea how to drive an actual car. All we have is the rating system to sort that mess out. This is why there is so much uproar around the penalties. IF the penalties don't work, then the ratings don't work.

In short, someone who is a B can be a better racer than someone at A+ who gamed the system.

B/ End of lap 9. Car in front pits with a 4.4 second gap. Exits the pits with fresh tyres within 0.2 secs behind. So that's sub 5 seconds for the pit stop? WTF?

Clearly it was your fault for having a decent start and going in the right direction!

Stops in the FIA at Suzuka a while back in the SF cars were costing around 3s! Since they shortened the pit stops it helps create strategy variation in a lot of circumstances but some stops - like Suzuka and Barcelona where the pit lane is almost as long as the S/F in cars like the Super Formula which get up to speed very quickly - are just ridiculous now. In the races where having harder tyres is mandatory there's no reason to have such a short stop in my opinion, they should have it how it used to be

I sort of wonder if the process of designing the Daily Races is automated? I think that would be something PD is capable of doing, and in doing so, that would potentially free up man-hours as PD focuses working on the next GT game. It'd be a logical explanation of why the Daily Races seem so boring, like how some courses don't seem to appear much. Or, why the only sorts of car regulations are either one-make races, or permitting all cars within a class, with the only exception being the very rare race that only permits FF Gr.4 cars. (I can't say I can confidently count the races where you pick between the Corolla-Levin and Sprinter-Trueno, or the 86 and BR-Z, either. Speaking of which, it's baffling that they never seem to permit both SF19 variants in the same race.) You could have fun if PD had more custom settings that are assigned to provided cars, too. Like if you had an N800 Toyota Supra, or an N600 Ferrari LaFerrari. And didn't the beta have races that featured both provided cars and garage cars?

I mean, even if they reserved doing more interesting stuff like that for the various championship races, I'd be more interested in racing online. But it all just seems to blur together. At least I can look forward to the possibility of more interesting race settings and/or QoL stuff being added in updates.

Just got handed a 20s penalty for not using Hard tyres when I clearly had them in the first stint...
Worst part... I had won the race...

I am fuming right now, I'm going to sleep and I'm going to ignore this games existance for at least a few days...

Edit: before I go, is there something I could've done to prevent it?
I had the hybrid set up, Hards in back and mediums in front... I had completed 1 previous race with the exact same setup and didn't get penalized...

Did you use full Hards or mixed? Did you save the replay?

Both hard and mediums... Which I had used in the previous race and didn't get a penalty... And I did save the replay, should I upload a shorten version of it?

That's what happened me last weekend too! I didn't know to save a replay so I had no evidence. But now I'm glad there are others who had the same issue (not that it's fun but to show I wasn't lying :b )

I was robbed of the race win in manu race and ended up 5th.

Kie had a clip of this happening to someone in one of his races a few weeks ago as well. The driver ran the last stint on full hards and still got the penalty. Since we are getting replays up here is one of my typical first laps. Although me driving onto the grass at the right hand turn wasn't normal.
 
Not seen this before. Having just been punted off a few times, I come up to the last sequence of bends and someone parks on the outside kerb. I clumsily drive into them, having expected them to move and not wanting to drive into the gravel, the parker quits (why they parked), I get a penalty. Good job.

I didn't knock them off by the way.
