@Underthewhip Yes, I´m in DR B.

Sure, you should give Tsubuka a try, especially in the beginning of the week you will be more than competitive with a 1.01! Good luck!

Thanks! It went well :) Did two races on Tsukuba tonight. Started 4th and 3rd and gained a pos both times plus two clean races in a row. I felt I was the only car not driving with squealing tires. Best part is that now I'm back to SR S and for the first time ever DR B!
Cannot be arsed to get game screenshots here but at least K' looks the part:

Special tune for daily race B . Easy under minute car. Still a lot of room. Top drivers can go under 59 for sure with this car.
Important , shift between 6500 & 7000 rpm.

I think this reflects the tuning situation. I've just tried that setup on DS4 and it's awful for me. Doesn't stop, doesn't turn and yet not much more stable. The car generally feels like driving on ice with hard plastic tyres. I won't be anywhere near 58s.

@250Cal . First , i did a top 5 with this car. I'm not skilled to be a top 5 driver , so the car is a big part of this for sure.
I've written "top drivers can go under the 59." Perhaps you and me are not part of this group and you'll have to deal with this or make some progress to be in. The car perhaps can't do all the job.
A good solution is to do your own setting that will stick to the ground like a f1 car and well balanced like a swiss watch.
Good luck.

PC2’s system is exactly the same way with sliders for almost everything.

Not to mention, every GT game has been the exact same as well.

Not exactly, we have always had performance parts in past GT games. You had options on how to tune your car, turbo/supercharge/NA, ignitions, different suspensions, brake upgrades, light weight flywheels and drive shafts, different stages of weight reduction, etc. Now it’s just slight the power up, weight down, no options on how you want to make that power or reduce the weight. The tuning is so diluted now that it sucks. Even Forza lets you swap out engines at least as far as I know.

I do miss the Nitrous in old GTs. Psssht...pssssht....ran out. :(

I was referring to the sliders for adjusting settings. I’m already aware there’s no clutch, engine, and turbo addons. Even then, most of the race cars in GT5/6 don’t have any upgrades aside from turbo/engine ones, and still, the adjusting in settings is the exact same as GTS.

Just drove Autopolis with the SR S and DR B fellas. I was a punching bag. Some dude dive bombed me 3 times and two of those crashed me out. Then one more crash bomb from a beetle. I can't believe this is SR S...

Went for another go. Duchebag from first race now starting just ahead me and quickly making it to first place where he can't ruin anybody else's race. I got to hairpin before rammed out first time. On lap 3 I get crashed into rom behind in the S's some how, hit the wall and game crashes. Beautiful to be back in SR S. Maybe I should go find that guy and ruin his race until I'm back to SR B where people aspire to climb in SR rank.

Highs and lows.

To be fair, who wouldn't pick Ferrari?

s7fragurruu21.jpg

I picked Ferrari for Exhibition Season 1 and really really wanted to fall in love with the car. Unfortunately I had to basically give up on the season and focus on Nations as I couldn't keep the gr.3 Ferrari on the track. As soon as any element of tyre wear became a factor not spinning became my sole focus, and one that I failed at.

Just so I'm clear, I don't blame the car. Its my own lack of ability to extract the performance from the Ferrari and I have a great deal of respect for those that are competitive with it!

Such a shame though. Would have loved to use Ferrari in the next proper season.

Hyundai this season. Don't love it or hate it. It's strongest point is not trying to kill you at every corner but no other real redeeming factors. Possibly Jaguar next season.

Funny because i tried praiano setup on my DS4 and it was even better than TRL_ADAM18 tune, thanks to both of you

I think you've misunderstood my point and then got all emotional about it.

My point was, if you can't get a handle on the car, the setup won't make that much of a difference. People saying that this would be all about the tune so wouldn't be worth taking part. The tune will get you some additional time, but getting accustomed to the car is what will primarily determine the time.

<raises hand> Me! Never used one in the dailies. Never going to. Same with the Lambos and McLarens. The only roach I'm prepared to drive in public is the NSX :p.
Ha. It was a rhetorical question/trap. If you factor in car depreciation and the Ferrari name one would be a fool not to choose it. :p;)

I ran the stock car first, then the tuned car. The tuning was worth .5 overall for me.

Emotional ?? Why ? ... Anyway , if you mean that tuning don't make any difference , that's not true.
My cars are mostly base tune for anybody start with to adapt the car's behaviors to his own driving style. This way you don't have to to adapt you to anything against your skills and style. When you can skip this barriers , then you're faster having more fun playing. That's the best thing about tuning in my opinion.

I don't know why. Read your post.

And, No, I didn't say it didn't make a difference.

@praiano63 does not seem emotional to me. Sometimes people don't know how to interpret others who use English as a second or third language. These types of misunderstandings happen all the time. I wouldn't take it too personal. He's just saying what he thinks and how he feels in a direct way that may come across different to a native English speaker.

Haha , that's it . I speak , read and write 100% french and portuguese.
English , only at school from 74 to 78 , then the rolling stones , david bowie , and finally gtplanet school since 2011 i think.

I've read many of your posts and used many of your tunes over the past couple years. I've also raced with you in NA top split and other Sport Mode races many times....I always appreciate your input and your racing. I have a lot of work experience overseas in different countries with many different cultures, so maybe I am a little more forgiving and experienced with language barriers. Your English is much much better than my Portuguese and French, so you won't hear any criticism from me! Cheers friend.

I think that the tunes makes a world of difference. But I run one, and that tune will make another guy go slower, while his will make me slower. They are so very dependent on drive style. Me, I always brake in a straight line (almost) no trail braking so the tune I run is adapted to that, while others trail brake and their tune is adapted to that.
I brake in a straight line, hug the curb and power off asap. (Drift-style, point the car right and spin away, tcs1)
I am DR C since last race and SR S since the last two, so basically a D/A driver. And the tune makes me go around in 1:01:5. I would never be this high on my friends list in an untuned car.

Man, that T1 at Autopolis is killing me! Still trying to find my groove there.

QT down to 1:47.26

Autopolis feels like Interlagos on steroids

I went to Race B after catching my left rear over the curb at T1 and spinning 3 straight attempts, haha. The margin between mediocre and fast there seems to be really tight compared to other tracks.

I brake early for turn 1 in fear of destroying my race like I've done many times in the past. Autopolis is so tricky.

All that being said I've enjoyed racing from the back. Probably won't set a qualifying time for that reason. Earlier I gained 10 positions on the first lap; many cars helped me out by beaching themselves in turn one.

Yeah, turn 1 there is just about the most deadly of the lot. I found I have to brake slightly earlier than I think and turn in blind. Key there is to be able to cut hard on the apex letting you floor it hard on the way out. Almost like the poster child.of slow in fast out.

I am finding the qualifying for race A super frustrating. That twitchy little minx of an 86 likes to.lull you to sleep. The trouble is if I.make it through the esses I tank one of the chicane bits. It feels like I have to point it through the chicane at what I think is the right line and hope I keep just on the curbs to avoid a track limit penalty. Got my time down to a 1.58.4 or .2, server is down so I can't check. But the frustrating thing is getting the limit penalty and then writing off 2 laps. I have had to resort to just restarting as I get grumpy. Definitely a challenge. Think I am going to have to watch some replays to sort it. Anyone got extra tips on keeping that thing stable? I seem to end up skating worse than at autopolis.
