Ok I’m excited for tonight with race C. Rain plus Spa with GR3 count me in. Low grip is when I do my best work lol. Partly because the advantage vs DS4 users is huge with a wheel and low grip IMO.

So pleased it’s Spa because I’ve been practicing there in VR for a league race so I’m acclimated.

I'm honestly shocked at the quality of racing on Daily Race C. I thought it would be even worse than the last two weeks, but it's the only clean racing I've experienced all month. Maybe the idiots are just afraid of the rain, or maybe the threshold for error is so low that they inevitably **** up before they get a chance to ram everyone else. Had a couple dirty moves against me, but no more than it used to be before they broke SR. First race was on pole, won the second race (thanks, @Voodoovaj), and made a couple major mistakes in the other two, but my lap times were generally still competitive.

Some of these qualifying times at spa are hilarious for this first race for me. Multiple starters over 3 minutes, haha. Not that my time is that much better. I think a good goal for me this week will be around a 2:38 ish.

Manage a win this morning on Race A. Easy stuff, I was on second position for most of the race and lost a place at the begining of the last lap. Now we are three bunch up together. The first two of the same country starts to bang each other and I'm just waiting with a bag of popcorn. Then came the last corner of the last lap where they took each other out. Easy win really.

2 week ago at Fuji whit Gr2 i was getting a 10 sec penalty for being missiled and send on a other planet by a lower DR driver while he had a 2 sec penalty . And you guys want this penalty system back ? It was the worst penalty system i ever saw also got totally wreck on the straight line and again 10 sec and the guy who wreck me nothing lolll . I did my 460th win at suzuka this week and the only problem i can see is that some dirty drivers have been able to be SR S but now i don't get stupid penalty 4 no reasons

Exactly, penality system off is not the issue. I'm pretty happy without it, I don't get stupid penality and I don't give stupid penality. They just have to make the SR system work.

ever heard about some dutch guy in F1 that does that pretty much all the time?

Or Hamilton each time he had to overtake Rosberg in 2016, he push him wide every single time.

I am still face palming over that one. It honestly never occurred to me to check my fuel usage :(

But, ya, the racing is good.

On a related note, the rain revealed the ABS bug in a BIG way. We've all noticed something off lately but we couldn't quite say with certainty what they issue was. Well, I tried a second race just after lunch and when I hit the brakes at the top of the hill (Spa BTW), just before the chicane, the car pulled SEVERELY to the right. When I say severe, I mean it's like the car was steering itself off track. I had to steer it back onto the racing line. I should have saved the replay. From that point forward, the car was uncontrollable whenever I touched the brakes so I quit the race.

I wonder if anyone else will experience this.

Wait WHAT. I haven't noticed anything this week yet, but I swear at Suzuka last week it felt like my brakes would randomly lock up sometimes going into Turn 1, as well as Degna 1. I thought I was going crazy. It was like the tyres were dirty or cold, but it was wildly inconsistent. That's a new bug??

Any tips to save tire wear at spa in the 911? I keep lighting up the rears and by the end of both dailys I ran I spin out at the final chicane. I like the brake balance as it is but i may have to put it forwards a bit.

You ran out of fuel? I was running the R.S.01, and still had heaps left while banging off the red line. I didn't think fuel was the issue with this race, but tyre wear?

I was having issues with the car just not turning at all on certain corners, particularly the first lap on a few tracks lately. I found that this seemed to stop if I did the warmup.

I saw someone recommend the Evo for one of this week's races, I'm guessing it's not race C because it goes through fuel like a pintman through...well, pints. I floundered around at the back and didn't even finish with a best lap of 2:42, which the 911 easily bested when I tried it afterwards.

Well had time for one race only and had no issues with tires with the Mazda, but midrace realized that fuel needed to be managed as I was one lap off the target. So it seems to be a factor for this race, but I don't have the time to see which would be faster with proper management or pitting.

Think I saw you in a couple of races, there was certainly an Evo in one of my races this evening!

I ran the RCZ, easy on tyres and fuel - I was shortshifting, but guess I didn't really need to as I finished with 3 laps of fuel left.....

Best finishes 3rd and 4th - guy in the last race finished 7th running on Intermediates!

I had something similar on the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca a few weeks back. I thought it was a brake bias thing, when I started adjusting the BB it went away.

No real racing tonight. I just has the chance to do some Q-Laps for A and C and then my wife said to me in the most lovely manner you can imagine „Are you done yet driving in circles? Turn it off now, we‘ll have Dinner now!“:odd:

For A: the key to success seems to be to find out when to switch gears into which gear at what speed. I wonder how many cylinder heads would blow at the end of the backstretch if that would be a real race. My best currently is a 1:02.2 but I think there‘s still something to gain.

For C: the leaders in the EMEA-Region get 2:33. My best attempt with the Porsche and heavywets and TC+3 (I usually never use it except for LMP-1 cars) was 2:42. Comparing the deltas of track length and lap time to the Norschleife I come to the conclusion that I‘m way to slow even for DR-C. Maybe I‘ll give this one a try on my alt account.

btw. for race C: can somebody give me a hint about the tires and/or the track conditions? Is this supposed to be „wet“ or „really wet“? Also, I don‘t recognize any difference in traction and stability between Intermediates and Rain-Tires...

Ha! That's almost the exact same thing my wife said to me when I started playing GTS! Whenever I played a game with any sort of story (GTA & Valkyria Chronicles come to mind) she would sometimes sit and watch and talk to me about the story and characters. With GTS she's all like, "It's no fun just watching you drive in circles!"

Real wet! If your time is from time trials it's way slower in race. I am DR C, around 2:43-44 and move up in races. I run the Porsche, AT, tcs-2 and FM-2. No-stopper. And I set my fastest lap in FM-2. Any more power seems to just make fishtails and wheelspin, I could always hold a better radius.
Stay off the curbs.....

I should remember to save replays more often and figure out how to get the videos from my PlayStation to YouTube. I had a few that would make y’all laugh today.

My personal favorite was hitting Eau Rouge about as well as I can, then slowly losing the back end until it snapped back around and hitting the wall hard. Since I was clearly trying to gain an advantage, I also took a 5 second penalty. I can’t seem to buy a reset these days either.

Other than that, I had a good time racing in the rain. I haven’t put a complete lap together yet, but my current optimal is in the 39s. I think I’ll be able to do it before the week is up.

I also ran Race A a couple times. That first turn is rough...the track/car combo is fun, but the T1 punt is impossible to catch up from.

Thanks! Porsche is also my allrounder of choice. Didn‘t expect fuel to be an issue since for the last weeks I thought PD would‘ve given up on challenging players.

I love this little Toyota, it’s way better than the Old Fiat. :)

Gonna try a few races from the back to build up Rays account. :)

Edit: My PSN just ran out in between races!

Edit 2: I’m an idiot, it was just a one week reminder for next week.

Back up and Running, I wonder if that guy will be in the next race? He tries to run me I to the pits and then gets upset that I bump passed him in the next corner.
