Jump the chicane and punt the other player to get on the podium, not a problem for this dude..

New here in the forum.

I'm finding race 2 borderline unplayable. If you are on the outside and someone barely touches you, you get a 2 sec penalty, outside car always gets the penalty. If you get rammed, you get the penalty. But if you ram someone, no problem lol

Got some 5 seconds phantom penalties too. I do not see this in race 3.

Pretty clean racing for the most part aside from one guy in the last race who thought I gave him a penalty and decided to attempt to run me into the wall coming up the line on the last lap.

noob. Had he been a pro, he would have come up the inside on the first corner and pushed you wide. You go off the track and you’d take the penalty, haha.

Edit: oh last lap, haha. Yup I should read.

Two races C, +1200 DR, above 20k again:) In the second race I should be 6th but italian guy tried to push off the track french guy who passed him cleanly, that was final turn... Italian guy missed and ended in the sand, KARMA, for me 5th place and lot of laughs

You can see them if you go to the Gran Turismo website and log in to your PSN. It's under Sporting History on your Profile there.
Thank you! I gonna check this, Im curious myself, but not tonight, tonight is semifinal of coppa italia and my favorite Juventus is playing, so... I post it tommorow(like someone even care);)

Heading back into race B, tryna grab the last 800 or so DR bucks I need to get back in B rank.

First race was chaotic, went from 4th to 8th, just seemed to be in the wrong place when everything got sticky. Supras are erratic, to say the least.

I've improved my quali by a couple of tenths, got a nice 35.2 now which is very competitive down here in C rank.

Hoping for one good result to end the punishment my WiFi brought upon me, and return to my rightful place as a B rank midfielder.

EDIT: Got it done in one race, started P3 with my slightly improved 35.1 Q lap. Russian Supra on pole had a 1:33.x - two seconds faster than P2. I took second place at the top of the esses, guess the Supra ahead had to lift.

The Russian was pulling away easily, but imagine my face when he span coming out of T1 on lap 2. Got my head down, put in the laps, and came home 3.5s ahead of anyone.

Love this car.

Hey folks

Anyone else having very weird lobbies for the daily races?

Im D/S and in the past 24 hours I have variously been in races with A+ to E. Also races were the S split was between S and C. Time differentials are also very wide apart. Race C has had me in races where pole was 6 seconds per lap faster. My most recent race (10 mins ago) had me as the fastest D/S but in 13th position. 14th to 20th comprised the remaining D/S. 12th (1.5 seconds faster than me) upward comprised various higher ranks between C to A+ on pole.

If anyone has the “ear” of someone at PD could they please ask them to at least look into this. I have noticed that a lot of D rated drivers are quitting before the end of lap 1, assuming they took the grid in the first place.

My top 3 raced as gtp_dvddjd, are:

Interlagos - 108 - A lowly 7 wins, 22 Top 5 finishes and 5 poles
Dragon Trail Seaside - 100 - A lowly 3 wins, 38 Top 5 finishes and 1 poles
Brands Hatch GP - 84 - A lowly 1 win, 23 Top 5 finishes and 0 poles

Dragon Trail is where I have won most races, followed by Blue Moon Bay Speedway.

The stats do not seem to be correct though as it says I've only raced at Spa 4 times, and I'm sure I've done more than that.

Must try and do more than 3 races a day though. That's all the time I get during the week, and I'm too 'scared' to race of a weekend, when more of the Numpties come out to play!

Looking through my stats on the GT Sport website, I see that the track I've raced at the most is LeMans.
278 total, and 103 of those are at the no-chicane version. Where the heck has that been (13 months since last one)?
I definitely want to do more races there. I guess it's my favorite. 👍

If you guys haven't looked at your Sporting History on the GT website, it's an interesting read.
I didn't realize how many tracks are in the game that I've done 1 or 0 races at.
sarth with chicane 274 races, 91wins, 230 top 5 safe to say my favorite

I had forgot about the track stats, here are my best:

1 Circuit de la Sarthe - 284 races - 142 wins - 266 top 5
2 Blue Moon Bay Speedway - 246 races - 114 wins - 213 top 5
3 Fuji International Speedway - 235 races - 70 wins - 174 top 5
4 Suzuki Circuit - 214 races - 63 wins - 136 top 5
5 Nurburgring 24h - 193 races - 66 wins - 165 top 5

Most Races without a win: Kyoto - Miyabi (14 races), Tsukuba is second on 9 but only because I'm too scared to race there.

It would be cool if you could sort the table on the site by columns.

First race back in B rank (race B):

Started 5th with one bar connection. Tryna chaos dodge through the crazy chicane got me on the outside at the hairpin. Four cars crowding the road. Inevitable I'd be pushed wide.

The push slowed me down, someone hit me in the back very slightly as I came back on the track, watched him consciously decide to eat some wall on the second chicane exit. 2 second pen. Someone doored me on the way through the final turn, another second as he went wide on exit.

3 seconds penalty on lap 1. Serve it, drop to 10th, lag going crazy, taking more contact.

Disconnected on the way down the hill on lap 2. Dropped to SR A (76).

Good to be back?

Despite my love of NGP I am bailing on race 3 as the tyre wear sucks all the joy out of it for me. I have enough inherent controller understeer, i don't need more from tyres that are toast after 1.5 laps.

Switched to Yamigawa, I am still being owned by SRS and DRA lobbies but my race speed is better than my qualy speed and I can at least race. Likely my last night at DRA as i will fall below 30K tonight.

The Supra feels great around Yamigawa, turns in well, lots of power etc. But I run the Merc and boom, I am faster. Reason is kerbs, the TC doesn't kick in so aggressively so on curbs I can get on the gas hard and not be held back.
I tried a few different cars there before settling on the Merc. It's so consistent and just goes in the direction you ask it to with very little drama. In fact, I kind of love it on almost every track.

do we know how much exactly do you lose in terms of DR/SR when you (rage) quit? because i'm seeing a lot of people quitting instead of finishing last
As someone who's been disconnected from a lot of lobbies recently, I can tell you it's a lot.

Peep my KP stats in my signature. The recent big DR drop you can see is from a string of disconnections. Tanked me from B to D very quickly.

Dood! Have you mistaken GTS for Initial D? after 1.5 laps the tyres are only just getting warmed up! I'm also on a controller and I don't find the tyre wear noticeable until the last 2 laps, and with some cars I don't notice it at all .

There are a lot of factors that effect the grid lineup. One of which is time of day. There are times when there are too few players to have a proper match. Generally it matches by SR first, so if there arn't enough DR/As or Bs for a full grid, you find them invading yours. When your SR gets into the 90s you generally tend to have slightly better matches. The exception is Race C. Depending on the car track combination you will sometimes find DR/Ds are too timid to enter say Gr3 at N24 or Gr1 at most tracks. I was often finding I was only one of maybe 3 DR/Ds with the rest being DR/Bs and As. DR/C tends to have closer to full grids.

Your SR loss depends on how many laps you have done and how many green sectors you completed in those laps. DR loss is what ever is it for coming last on that grid. Rage quitting is a bad practice, unless you like staying in a lower rank than your driving ability for easy hollow victories... then you might as well be in a race by yourself ......:O

-5 SR, and DR is the same as finishing last. It's really not that bad.

Did a Race C last night and today. For pitting practice and whatnot. Good for practice. Not enjoyable racing though.

Basically comes to down to identifying the out of control cars and avoiding them.
They can't dive bomb you if you're behind them. 💡 And 9 times out of 10 when you follow them into a turn they'll over shoot it.

Top 5 tracks:

#1 Interlagos - 31 races, 12 wins
#2 Bathurst - 29 races, 7 wins
#3 Maggiore GP - 26 races, 16 wins
#4 Maggiore GP II - 19 races, 13 wins
#5 Sarthe No Chicane - 18 races, 11 wins

I don't have that many races on my main. Since I keep it to FIA the overwhelming majority of the time, my alt actually recently overtook it in terms of races

Yes, it's still my main, because it's the one I take seriously. :P

Impressive!
1 Circuit de la Sarthe - 284 races - 142 wins - 266 top 5 50% win ratio and less than 20 races out of top 5!
5 Nurburgring 24h - 193 races - 66 wins - 165 top 5 That is a lot of races
