I honestly think, that PD, just simply doesn't care.

The only thing, IMO that may change their minds about this, is if during a FIA Sanctioned World Final and someone wins because of an out of the blue BS Penalty in front of everyone.

Unfortunately, though -- the live events have real human beings dishing out penalties, not the software. It'd be interesting to see it the other way, though.

I don't get it, not only are the instructions on the Daily Races crap about what the special rules are. But I started on Soft Tires and changed to Hard Tires and still got a 20 second penalty. Wtf.
Trust in GTPlanet:
Things are a little more complex in Race C. Again, you’ll be picking up whatever Gr.3 car floats your particular boat, and heading to an old-school F1 venue in the shape of Brands Hatch. However, this 14-lap race has strategy as a major factor, due to mandatory tire requirements. Players must use all three of the available tire grades — Racing Soft, Medium, and Hard — during the race. Those who don’t will face a 20-second post-race penalty.
The week's Daily Race article is almost always published within an hour of the races starting for the week, and is always posted to this thread.

2 pit stops in a 14 lap race turns me off though. Cars with 3 different tire compounds running around on a hard to pass track, a horrible pit exit, some start on soft, some end on soft, whatever can go wrong. Some call it strategy, I would say it's more luck depending on what tires the car ahead of you has on and in which state while you are either drafting to gain time or held up because you can't pass the car or worn or cold tires struggling in the corners. It's the same as the FIA race but with fewer laps.

Race A is whoever gets the chicane right, with lots of collision chances I bet.

Race B is turning into a one make, which is actually cleaning it up a bit lol.

Does anyone know the time for a pitstop? It might be worth the 20 seconds to run three stints on soft...

I did a no stop in FIA and only got one 20 sec penalty. Of course I also got bumped off a dozen times by impatient drivers with fresh softs and didn't make it to the finish in time  You can leave a gap for people to pass, doesn't matter, the art of overtaking has disappeared along with the penalty system.

What’s the favourite car for Race C this week? I like the RS01 for Q, but it tries to eject me from the track after about 4 laps on the softs - I’ve no idea how to control it in a tire wear race!

I definitely have an issue with not being competitive at Gr3 compared to the other racing classes so need to focus on 1 car and master that for a while. Any suggestions?
The WRX was pretty good to me in the last FIA Nations race at Brands.

I haven't had time to run any dailies yet this week, just some Q laps on A. It could be a fun race. Race reports on Monza are scary, but I'll probably give that a go too. Race C ..... I just did a Nations FIA race and accidentally started on hards without realising, resulted in me running the whole race on hards, makes me wary of running a race that requires all three compounds to be used. If RL permits I'll give it a try, but it's not high on the priority list.

I qualified well in Race A last night...(normal human being well, I should say, haha -- 2:01.xxx) and started P4/P5 in a DRA/DRB room. I got pushed into the wall at the chicane, took a 5 second penalty, and finished P10 because someone took a 5 second penalty on the last lap, and another guy was aiming to see how much penalty time he could get by hitting walls (almost 60 seconds. I was impressed). Down like 400 DR at the end.

I may not race the dailies much this week. I didn't like the feel of the RCZ at Monza, and BH isn't my favorite either. Since I think I'll do well at FIA Manu this week, I don't want to risk SR or DR.

Though I'm still pleased to be able to maintain a mostly high SR score, I've given up caring about DR & SR. My goal is clean, fun racing :D
Then be very vary of Monza.... I went from 98 to 61 SR in two consecutive races. Then went from 61 to 99 in two consecutive race C. They're not much cleaner but there is a more spread player base so YouCan drive around the dirtiest.

This week (so far) seems not so dirty in my region (Asia / Ociania). Most of the race reports from this region mention clean racing.

When the racing is clean and fun, my DR and SR usually rise, haha. I also admit I have a little bit of vanity with both DR/SR in FIA because the races are worth more points when those are both higher, haha.

Yeah, I might just need to go actually learn to drive BH. Might as well since it's the new Autopolis of daily races haha. Or is it the new nurb? Speaking of...we are overdue for a Nurb 24 race. Anyone want odds that we'll have it next week?

You're in a higher split than me. I'm satisfied with just staying on the track and finishing before the cutoff.

Once you take the time, you'll find it really worthwhile. I love this track, it flows really well when you get in the groove, even if you're off the pace of the faster drivers.

Quick question for you guys that do lots of dailies, do they affect your DR as well as you SR?
Yes. You (usually) gain DR from every driver you finish in front of and (usually) lose DR to every driver you finish behind. The unusual cases are very rare, they involve being in races with drivers who have DR scores more than 40,000 points higher or lower than you.
Edit: Note that it doesn't matter how many places you gain in the race, only the relative score of the drivers ahead of and behind you at race end.

I had almost given up hope for gaming my K' Speed Score with this week's race A, stuck in the mid 59s. I took a break, and ate some chocolate. Was about to move onto trying Gr.4 Monza, but decided to try a bit more at race A. This time I was down to a mid 58 almost straight away! Ozzy said "Wine is fine but whisky's quicker", it would have been interesting to know his opinion on whether chocolate is even quicker.

I'm a D right now. In order to move up I have to finish in front of Cs and Bs is what I'm understanding?

Nah. Keep racing well at D, and you'll eventually move up. I raced in exclusively DR B rooms at Big Willow last week, and gained about 7500 DR without ever winning a race.

You'll know you're getting close when you start seeing Cs in the room, and yeah, when you're ready to bump up, you'll probably start beating some of them.

Finish in front of anyone to gain DR. You get more points for finishing in front of higher scored players (and they lose more), but you'll gain points from everyone behind unless they're more than 40K behind. At your level that's not possible, so everyone behind is a gain.
On the other hand, everyone in front of you at the finish is a DR loss, but the higher their score the less you lose. In the rare case that they have more than 40,000 points more than you (high A or A+), you may actually gain from a driver in front of you.

Nice Lap !
I noticed some of the top ten are scraping the wall to slow down on the tight U-turn.
I tried a few laps with ABS Weak & Off, seems like it might be possible to outbreak the wall-scraping method.

I'm usually a podium driver in my lobbies. But I don't race a lot of dailies so that's probably why my DR hasn't moved in a long time. I'm sure getting frustrated and backing out when I get punted into next week doesn't help either. Since I've been a top 5 qualifier in my lobbies lately that hasn't been a problem.

Thanks. Was just on a lap where I was a few hundredths up on my best, so totally went for it through the chicane and hit it pretty nicely. Had to record a screenshot of this one. No wall scraping, ABS default.
