I am not sure about others, but I noticed with the Group3 Ferrari and also at Brands with the 911, the car is easier to control on used rear Softs than used mediums. With the 911 as long as the fronts are decent and I don't get understeer, the slight oversteer is easy to correct.

Probably I can do more than 7 laps, but I use the 6M-1H-7S strategy for this week's daily and it worked pretty well(not counting my tendency to plow the fields because I am pushing a bit too hard).

Do you guys recommend I should not qualify so I can start from the back and work my way up the field with careful overtaking and such to get a feel for battling for position? Because I am much inclined to do that, it sounds like a lot of fun and I am not one to care for rankings in competitive games. I was recently gifted a Mustang Gr.4 yesterday from the Daily Workout so I guess I'll use it in Monza.

Got hit and pushed during all first lap, then i got so pissed that I started obliterating everybody.
Why? Why would you do that? Why do people who just wanna race have to suffer because some other guy hit you?
I don't understand that...
If you're pissed, just quit the bloody race and let others enjoy the game..
You're just as bad as the guy who hit you... You've just made sport mode a little worse than it already was...
Unless you specifically targeted those who hit you, I really don't think that's the way to go...

I have been having a great time there.
I qualified on hards... Started p19 with door number 14. Took one lap on hards (might need to do 3 or 4 next time) ten laps on medium and 3 laps on soft. Finished p8, SR Still at 99, DR up 800.
Edit: Porsche, BB at -2, TCS 0.
I also qualified on hards, ran 1H/RS 'til they were stuffed (about L9 from memory)/RM to finish, P18 of 19 > P5 (courtesy of four 20 second penalties) for about +800 DR points. Subaru WRX BB+1

Edit: Gr.4 WRX sucks at Monza, too slow on the long straights.

Had a good outing in Daily Race C.

Started from P6 but because I managed to be consistent enough and getting the right tire strat for my starting position, I managed to get P3 which to me that's more than enough.

Got a little nervous going in to the race because of the tire compound I used in my first stint but it paid off.

Why do you get a 20 second penalty at Brands Hatch? Are you seriously required to use all 3 tire compounds in a 14 lap sprint with tire wear that isn't jacked up to the maximum? I managed to win anyway starting from the back (no quali) since the guy in second started going off the track and managed to get about a 30 second gap but jeeeeeesus that is a ridiculous ruleset...

And Monza is full of donkheads, that's all I have to say. Got pushed off thrice in the same race and I still managed to get a fifth place position starting from the back and a clean race bonus. That race was anything but clean, and filled with FFs (I was in a Mustang). Thought I'd get some cool battles but all I got after an overtake was a slam in the rear, keep seeing people go off track, sideswipes... a mess

Yes, you have to use all three tires for at least one lap at Brands this week. :)

I think I was not clear enough, I targeted only the punters, pushers and bumpers, which where probably 10 out of 16 in the lobby. The race in Monza is a complete mayhem from start to finish, and not because people can't control their cars.

Fact is that GT Sport is now, more than ever, purely an arcade game. I raced three times at Brands Hatch yesterday, in the three races the winner was the same, a guy that punted everybody out. Lots of pissed players (including me) with him in the lobbies, but it is what it is.

Clean races now are exception and the BoP is absolutely ridiculous.

Monza is unplayable, guys try to overtake everywhere, push, bump, sidesweep, and you get a 7 second penalty if you scape a Ram. With that said, you always have great chances of finishing in a decent place, since everybody fights and crash.

I second this. It may depend on the lobby, but the rules of clean driving don't apply to this race. But I've been having a tonne of fun with it on my backup account.

What really makes this race bizarre is the penalties. I've gotten some clean race bonuses after sending some dirty drivers to the realm. But then I'll have some clean hard races with other people that get ruined when one of us gets a penalty for some minor side contact.

That being said, racing from the back with the WRX has been great fun. I'm averaging 8 places gained in that race. Punt or be punted!

PD comin up with these combos

BMB is gonna be epic with the Oval BoP! :D
You've received a PENALTY 7 SECONDS for this post.

Nah. We just did this combo in the ARL Wednesday night league. It was some of the most fun racing I've had.
You fail to account for the average daily race driver. Last time this combo came up it was an FIA race and I was shoved head-on into the pit barrier, T-boned at turn 1, and received roughly 600 years in penalties from the "rubbin-is-racing" mentality that comes with it.

I'll be treating Race B like it has covid-19 next week.

And I'm not the only one...

Oval racing is not a for everyone lol. I love it in the Gr 3 cars. You just have to be prepared for the punt in turn 1.

Are you sure?

They may be lurking around!
Pretty sure. It's been a long time since I've received an SR down for getting rear-ended.
Here's what I'm talking about. This was last November.

The 3 SR downs he gave me in the span of about 12 seconds is the reason he got smacked.
I don't believe those penalties would happen with the current system.

At least with the penalty system now, you won't lose SR for punting.... only receiving. :banghead:

Race C:

Which corners are safe overtaking spots here?
Besides the hairpin everything else just calls for trouble, doesn't it?
Several times I had a run on them into Westfield, but they just don't care.
Even if I'm almost ahead on the inside, they just turn in.

How to defend into Surtees?
For obvious reasons, I enter rather wide, aiming for a late apex,
but this seems to look like an invitation to many B/S guys.
