i am so pissed off. this bull **** stuff happens to me every race and I've had enough of it. The biggest joke of all was the only penalty i received was when SOMEONE ELSE bumped me off the track. pretty much done with anything but my usual gt3 lobby unless something changes. re entering the track and serving penalties is basic racing. check out these sick overtakes. if you dont like it then tough taters. btw this all happened in the first 2 laps of my only sport race today. tired of wasting my time.

just wtf

agaiiiin 3 corners later. just stay left to serve penalties and unghost ffs.

I got 5 seconds at ascari because of this dude. Enjoy the beach vacation.

if you dont like it dont @ me because i dont care

Not judging you at all.

The last one was borderline. The black car jumps right in front in the braking zone. The worst move I just hate.

Looks like a natural reaction, by the Pug, with nowhere to go. You're on its side and the car in front of it, has taken away the brake marker/reference/distance.
You've got a better sight to the corner. If the black car stayed on the inside, may have been a different outcome.

i also saw that guy in 2 races the other day and didnt punt him..so yeah not exactly just based on this alone. him and the trump car can kick rocks.

really all that happened was his penalty essentially transferred to me by him swerving over and causing me to take out the car he would have hit if he stayed in his lane. Sport Racing has gotten so toxic and clearly i am no help to the situation. just cant stand it anymore.

I get it that there could be more to the story. I feel you.

Same with the toxicity. I got punted twice today. The last race B I was in, I walked away during the warm up and the game booted me. That's how let down I was. Played GTAV until that Race C and then did the FIA Manu race.

i said this the other day, saved the replay but never posted a clip so here it is now
just ran the 458 and its just like you said except me and the car in front got punted by 2 cars at the first chicane lap 2. watching the replay they both braked after 150....

and they are both in the next race.

Look familiar?

Ahahahahahhahahhaha...

I was in a really dirty lobby now, with 4-5 people wiping out each other without any respect for all the others. Two of them, a Russian and a Turkish player I know them for a long time as being dirty players and they took out at least 3 cars each. I got a 2s penalty for being on the outside of a divebomb + another one by being hit by one that lost control of his car. Result - I am the only one with a red SR at the end of the race.

This game is a joke now...

Well, at least I wasn't really having dirty lobbies. Was thinking of 1 or 2 goes at race C then fool around on the alt. Provided I didnt screw up races.

So first race I start 8th, work up to 4th with a semi decent gap come lap 7, pit on mediums and put on . . . Mediums :banghead::banghead::dunce::banghead:. Pit again for hards, then softs. End up 10th, but oh what could have been.
Race 2, p9 at start, get barged off, get 4 sec for it. Fight back to 7th and then have s fed squiggle bits on my own, get a 0.5 penalty and fall to p12.
Race 3, bin it 3 times on my own. No one else's fault, just my mistakes. Due to cars near me when I lose it i end up with over 14 sec of penalties and twice i don't get reset when sitting off track facing the wrong way. :banghead:
Basically a race not to finish last.

Seriously wondering what is wrong with me.
Chug a beer. Settle down.
Race 4. Do well or BS. Start p7, work my way up to p5 but have some wobbles and get caught by a pack. Manage to settle down and get smooth, saved by someone wiping out all the cones. Finish p5. Happy, done. Ready to play with the high down force package of disaster looming tomorrow.

Only hoping I take advantage of others' mistakes and don't make them myself like tonight.

Not just now.
To be precise, it is a joke as a serious online racing something. (Despite of any shiny 'tour' and 'championship' and all those live bling-blings.) On the other hand, seems to be a popular game for kids. And also serving well for some driving amusement offline, or with known, behaving, adult friends in lobbies.

I’m also interested into that, so if someone from the more experienced members could help it will be really great.
Unfortunately, the only way we find out (same goes with the Daily Race A car) is when the new races go live. Since Racing Hard tires are the only available tires, and since it's a grid start w/ False Start Check, some people have been thinking that the Gr. X car will be one of the Red Bull cars.

E - typing on phone, sorry for any typos.

When I first started, I think it was 6 months ago, it was a lot cleaner because of the decent penalty system and SR negative points being given a lot more often. I still had the odd unfair penalty now and then, but because of the SR point change, the usual dirty players were not in SR S.

Even for me it was pretty hard to stay in SR S, because being a beginner made a lot of mistakes - and I did not race in daily C at that time.

This was what got me hooked with GT Sport as I usually don't play racing games on Playstation and hate to play online. Next steps were getting a G29 and start playing a lot more. Still enjoy the game a lot, but with more negative feelings and with less close clean racing.

These long races with lots of strategy options helps when you are knocked down to the last spot after 3 corners. As always it's really about driving until you see the flag.

You may not win but there is something about putting in good laps in the mid race and ending up far up the field.

I even met a fast and clean driver and had a fantastic fight with him over the last few laps..

Thank you! It makes sense.

My guess will be then it’s going to be the Competition edition since the Junior is too slow for 10 laps and Standard is too fast.

For Race A I think it will be the N100 Fiat that was introduced with the latest update.

Is there any way to identify which Gr.X car will be used for next week's Daily race C on Spa? Or can we make an educated guess?

I’m also interested into that, so if someone from the more experienced members could help it will be really great.

There is no way of knowing for certain but PD like to match events to ongoing real world races so gr1 at lemans at lemans weekend, gr3 bathurst during bathurst 24h weekend.

So going by that and fact f1 season starts next week I'm going for an f1 based guess and that the car will be the f1500t which is a mid 80's f1 car. Its laptimes put it in the ideal 20 minute window PD like for race C as well.

Finally the week is over . I was hoping for some good racing at Monza (foolish I know). Most races have had me shooting my self in the foot or mor often, rear ended at the second chicane. Tonight I came across the first genuinely dirty driver I have seen for a long time. When I was alongside him twice he pulled across away from me so he could get a good run up to side swipe me. He also took out some cars in front, as well as himself... that seemed to be his modus operandi. I think this may be the first time i have reported anyone... I don't think he realised that leaving as soon as the race was over stops people from doing that :dunce:.

SR for me still 99, DR has a net drop over the week of 2.5k :odd:. Not long now to DR/D .

I hope you’re right, the F1500 at Brands a while back was an awesome week of racing! :)

Hope so. That would make sense and given they did the F1500 with brands last year it’s a good match up and has history.
However, I saw they updated the X2019 endurance rounds in the last update which includes Spa so I’m guessing it will be the 5m credit red bulls.

Yep, despite none of the A/S races in FIA last night being clean, I still had some good finishes (from last). I would usually end up 5th or 6th in the first lap just avoiding the wreckage then already get bumped off at the right turn after the second chicane, in Ascari or Parabolica with a penalty for good measure. So back to the back on lap 2 and the penalty zone. And then slowly gaining positions again, mostly from others fighting each other. Even starting at the back had no guarantees of getting through T1 unscathed. I let go of the gas brake real early, just casually follow the last cars only to get bumped off by cars spawning behind me, going solid in the chicane and either leaving me in the sand or with a 7 second penalty :banghead:

It's Monza with twitchy cars on a laggy server, it's a **** show the first 2 laps. But lap 3 you can start to breath again and still have 12 laps of actual racing to look forward to. There were still plenty people ready to barge pass, dive bomb or hump your bumper, but also those with which I had awesome close contact free racing, fully synchronized around the track trading positions a few times. It is possible to go around the track with only a few feet between the cars at all times, but too many people think that sticking a nose in gets them there faster instead of waiting for a moment where you can make a pass stick. Too many times I got up to two cars hindering each other, then one of them falls back. I pass him and want to get on to close in on the second one, only for the one I just passed forcing me to go defensive so we both slow down and the other gets away. By the time I shake the hindering car, the other has already had time to get back into hot lapping mode and has increased the gap beyond draft range. In contrast, while I was glued to another car while swapping positions on the straight, we made up time to the next car and both profited in the end. The dirty driving is not the most annoying anymore, it's the constant contesting every corner even when there is no possible chance of making a clean pass. Yet let them go ahead, they can't keep it together while in front :banghead: more time lost.

8 laps at BMB? It was 10 laps last time. It's good to see it back but that's a pretty short race. I looked at previous leaderboards with Gr.3 and top 500 was in the 42.5 - 42.9s range so overall... 5.6 - 6 mins. Potentially less given the changes since 2018 with BoP differences etc.

I was hoping for a bit longer seeing how Monza is an 8 min race and that trend isn't set to continue. 9 min waiting windows are back again. Sad face.

I've only had to time to squeeze in 5 races this whole week, and in 2 of them this happened:

I know I made a mistake here, but I really don't think that guy should've tried to go up the inside... And the penalty was just the fly on top of the turd...

Another little mistake that cost me a position, but here I don't understand why would the game decide to give me a penalty... No-one went off track, it was pretty clean, just a little contact..

And that's why i've stopped racing. Even on an alt. account. What's the point?

I was going through my folder of clips and I came across some GT Sport clips from my second week of playing the game all the way back in 2018...
They're from the last time I raced Gr.4 cars at Monza back when daily races were actually daily:
Starting with this.. I'll never forget this one:

I then drove at my qualifying pace and won the race.. This has only happened to me once.. Has it happened to anyone else?

I remember I used to feel so pressured whenever I was in 1st place and this one time, after leading the race from the start, I did this right before the last corner:

I still don't understand exactly what was going on with me... I remember I was fine, there was nothing distracting me, I just messed up alone...

This was back when the penalty system mostly worked, but we didn't have penalty serving zones, so whenever this dude wasn't in pole, he'd just ram 1st place at the first corner, get the penalty and serve it at the end... I witnessed him doing it 3 times

This is why players with 1 Red Bar should be IMMEDIATELY GHOSTED:

This guy could've easily collected a couple of innocent bystanders.. Not sure if it has changed now has I haven't seen it happen again since then, but I don't think it has changed

Another little mistake that cost me a position, but here I don't understand why would the game decide to give me a penalty... No-one went off track, it was pretty clean, just a little contact..

In so far as we can infer the intended rules of racing from the penalty system, the rule you violated is that you are not permitted to make contact with a car that is overtaking you. We might say that this is not a rule in real racing, but it's a rule in GTS as it stands today. I think it actually wouldn't be a terrible rule IF it took into account whether or not the car being overtaken left a car's width of space on the inside. No space left = the car being overtaken is at fault = penalty for the car being overtaken. Space left but still contact = lunge / outbraked themselves on the part of the overtaking car = penalty for the overtaking car.

And that's why i've stopped racing. Even on an alt. account. What's the point?
The thing is, for me at least, there are no games I enjoy more... I don't have any other hobbies I'd rather be doing.. And I'm not a fan of private lobbies for various reasons...

I genuinely hate this penalty system, but every now and then I find myself having a sweet battle with a clean guy and it's all just so worth it...

What you said made a lot of sense, but what I don't get is: how did the game determined that it was my fault?
How am I the one to blame for all of it?
If you look at the radar, you can see I was clearly ahead of him, I braked later and left him a car's width, but given the fact that he was in the car with much better rotation, he was able to carry more speed... One might even say he hit me...
I don't get why there's a penalty, I don't get why I was the one penalized..
(btw, I'm not challenging you or anything, I really just wanna understand the system, maybe it'll be less frustrating if I know what not to do)

Just completed my first week of online racing in GTsport and wow what a **** show.

We all make mistakes and I made plenty this week but at least I acknowledged my mistake and hung back or let them pass.

The morning sessions were good to fair in terms of clean racing but by 3/4 oclock in the afternoon it was a clown parade.

I thought I was playing wreckfest with the way my follow "racers" were acting.

I think I had maybe one good race out of five or six.

Made me wonder what the point is and what the future holds for the next GT.

If this continues in the next chapter of the game would you guys still bother or look for something else?

Not interested in the single player because the AI SUCKS!!!!! so all I can do is hope and pray that the laughable penalty system is fixed somehow.

Keep it clean everyone.

Shaun

Jumped onto race C last night and had 3 of the best races I’ve had in awhile. And I didn’t win any of them lol. 3rd/3rd/2nd

Each race 3 of us gapped the field and traded positions back and forth battling while still doing low 23’s despite fighting. But it was smart battling, not dive bombing and compromising our speed vs the rest of the pack. I gotta go back through the replays because there were some great moments.

First two races I lost time due to pit strategy. We all started on softs, but I would run till lap 7/8 then mediums till 13. The guy who won all 3 races I realized would go to 6/7 grab Hards then immediately pit again for mediums which gave him the edge at the end. It also messed with my head because I didn’t realize he did that and though I had a healthy gap.......so I slowed my pace to control the gap not realizing he was done with the pits.

Forget the exact name but it was udi_yammi! Or something like that. Well played sir well played.

3rd race I realized what he was doing so I hatched my own plan. I would stay out 1 extra lap knowing he would be on Hards vs my used softs, then I would do Hards and back in for mediums. If we were bumper to bumper like previous races, this would allow me to jump him in the pits.

Race started like the others and I was all over him till he made a small mistake on the exit of Sheenes and I got him on Dingle. I held him for next few laps with a 1-2sec gap but then messed up on entry to Dingle and he got me on the exit. Bumper to bumper till he pit. I pushed hard for my in lap ......anddddd I idiotically selected mediums instead of Hards and destroyed my plan. Insert facepalm.

At that moment I knew I had to push hard on mediums and try to build a gap. But we were matching sector times. I came out of the pits on lap 14 just as he went past. I’m on Hards vs his Mediums. No chance, so I just brought it home.

Each race we were finishing in the 19:46-56 range. Great fun, still kicking myself for that last race lol.

It's not looking at anything like that, it's as simple as you got overtaken, and there was contact, that gets you a penalty.
