Decided to get back in the "dailies" after a few months of lobby racing. I learned two things.

1. The Scirocco kills it's tyres.

2. I'm no longer terrible at Interlagos.

Please tell me the player in 19th is NOT a gtp member.

I've had that player in plenty races and some FIA races. I just got smashed by it, into, thru and out of the Senna esses.

I was up in 2nd, battling an 86 and this Mustang just barrels through both of us. I serve it back. We go off, I recovered longer with no penalty.
I'm catching up to it and a different Slophy, goes to pass it and punts the Mustang.

Why DNF after causing the havoc? What did Sam Jackson say in Jurrasic Park? "I hate that hacker crap!".

Do you still loose SR if you quit the race? I'm thinking mine didn't move when I got punted repeatedly, and retaliated, then quit in disgust the other day. I had gotten maybe 5 seconds in penalties. I think it was only the second time I ever quit.

I believe so. I kept quitting a couple weeks ago, to drop my ratings down. Actually, I kept reversing after the starts and I believe that dropped the SR.

I don't know about GTP member but I had them in a couple of races over the last week and they have been involved in plenty of ugly incidents. Both on the giving and receiving ends of it. Chaos breeds chaos with that one. Having to race a lot of people like that in my habitat mid pack is why I have decided to take a break. Surprised that they are still S after the garbage I have seen them involved in through the week.

Over the long term I have had more issues with p11 though. Don't know why but something always seems to go wrong when they are near me even if they aren't the cause of it in any way. Like the 2 of us getting near on track will cause an incident to happen.

It's funny(or mot so funny) how that works.

I only recognised P6, P10 and P19. Everyone else looked new to me.

That dude's been around from the start and although he's traditionally a fair bit faster than me I can't say I've ever noticed anything untoward about him. In my experience he's usually pretty fast and legit. Haven't seen him much for a while now though.
I wouldn't say he's dirty, maybe a bit aggressive though?
I think @BjoBosUndies might have a bit of experience going toe to toe with him?

Anyway, only posting because I'm wondering how I can get a 1 sec penalty, red dot, and still get a CRB at the end of race?:odd:

So, with all the crap going on with having to move and having to help with getting the place I live in ready for sale, I have only just been in a position to get back to racing. Took me a while to learn to drive again . First race on Wednesday night. Qualified with a less than spectacular time in the Aston, so was a bit surprised to start P4.

So I see they have adopted a reverse LeMans style start (facing in the opposite direction):

After auto drive have spent some time reversing and going forward and generally all points on the compass, it eventually sorted itself out. By the time I actually started the race I was in P8. P7 starting lap 2 after driving through a Porsche that had just ghosted. Up to P6 exiting Senna. My nemesis, T4 gave me a 0.5s penalty for going wide, which I wasn't doing during qualifying. I picked up this penalty every second lap . I was a bit close to the Aussie in front of me in a beemer, who had strange braking habits. He went wide at T8 and I took the inside, which gave him the inside for the next corner. His strange braking came in again T10 (Bico de Pato) and I tapped him on the rear. He went off, so I pulled aside to wait for him to regain position, which put me in P10. Started lap 4 in P8, had a good side by side battle with a GT-R, and suddenly found I was in P6 entering Juncao. I stayed there for a while. Lap 6 i started noticing the handling was getting a bit squiffy and understeer was beginning to become an issue. I had to drop to a lower gear for cornering. I stuck to the WRX in P5 for a while, and had a few sniffs up the inside. Finally lap 6 heading into lap 7 I was able to get past him in the drag to the start/finish line and ahead into Senna. He stuck with me and we had a bit of side by side action. Sure enough, 0.5s penalty at T4 . That penalty doesn't seem to do much, except help brake for T4 the next time around . I was struggling with tyre wear at the fronts for the rest of the race, but somehow managed to fend off the WRX (and the Cayman that passed him) to finish P5.

SR blue, DR went up 400+

Next day I had a go with the Viper. Improved my qualy time, and again started P4. This time a normal start. I was struggling again with the fronts after about 6 laps. The guy I had knocked off in the race the night before (Sennas_Cat) was starting behind me, this time in a Lambo. This doesn't bode well... Lambo's always ram me off the track :scared:. Hope he doesn't hold a grudge :nervous:!

Made it through Senna unscathed and he had dropped back to P6 (I think he got bullied by another Lambo). Still nervous! Up to P3 and right in P2 coming up to Bico de Pato. The NSX behind me was a goldfish turd. Lap 4 he got me on the exit to Senna, I out braked him at T4, we were side by side coming out the other side. He pulled in front and I hung with him till lap 6. Someone pitted so I went up to P3, but my fronts weren't happy. The NSX started to inch away. Meanwhile the GT-R that had pitted had quietly been working his way back up through the field. Not sure how cleanly he did it, but lap 8 onward I was having to nurse the Viper around the corners. The GT-R was closing in . Lap 11 on the climb up the hill after Juncao he got along side me and slowly creeped ahead. There was nothing short of *realy* poor sportsmanship that I could do about it :grumpy:. P4 for me. I went to congratulate him on his drive, but he cleared off .

SR blue, DR went up 670. Surviving DR/C :dopey:.

I have tried a number of cars but so far haven't been able to match or beat the Viper. Most cars I'm 1 or 2 seconds off, with only a couple that have had my optimum anywhere near. I might finish off the week with the Trophy. I couldn't match my speed but its easy to get around with and in my races, there has been no clear META.

Well it is like I said in the post though, even if it isn't our fault something happens if I race close to them for more than a corner or 2. Sometimes racing incidents between us, but often enough it can be another driver causing it, just happens when we are near. Just a silly jinx type thing. Have had good clean races with them, also some more aggressive ones as well. Everyone has their days.:odd:

The driver @05XR8 pointed out was causing destruction in every race I saw them. Much easier to say that one is a nasty piece of work who definitely crosses the line to dirty on purpose.

As for CRB, not sure. Had a few dodgy ones myself lately. Had a laggy car teleport in front of me in one race in the middle of the braking zone resulting in them getting punted to Colombia. Still a CRB. Didnt get one in one race A after I got a slight tap exiting turn 4 and that being only time anything happened.

17 and 19 are the ones I recognise. The fact that I recognise them is a warning because I'm usually DR-C, occasionally DR-B and you're MUCH faster than that. We should almost never see the same drivers except in the wee hours when match making is struggling to fill rooms.

Anyway, only posting because I'm wondering how I can get a 1 sec penalty, red dot, and still get a CRB at the end of race?:odd:
I think under the current penalty scheme, some track limit breaches will give you a time penalty without an SR down. Certainly some bumps will give you an SR down without a time penalty. If I recall correctly, CRB is based on no lost SR, not on time penalties. If I'm wrong I'm happy to be corrected.

I think it seems to vary. In the past SR had nothing to do with CRB, it was all about track limits. You could have SR downs and penalties for SR downs but still finish with a CRB if you kept it on the black stuff. You didn't get a CRB if you went off track even a little, even if you didn't get a time penalty.

I'd be keen to see a sub 1:38 QT in the Mustang if you'd like to post it up.

Ok I’ll share it in game tho, title for 250 cal...It’ll be up in a minute, I think I ran 4 laps this morning so there will be not just the one, first couple have small errors...I also just posted up my last race, took third.

Edit qual plus race both up in game...
