You guys make it sound rough out there. It'll get smoother during the week. 👍

It’s not bad, just got back from time out in Fuji. To 99.That’s one I might avoid...Really for fun dr is irrelevant sr is the thing gotta stay 99!
Kart...
My tip on the kart is don’t turn steering too tight, don’t power out unless you are opening up the steering. Use third in the slow turns...It’s pretty challenging to use the whole track for a good qual lap. The kart is fun but challenging. I’d run tcs 5 if you’re a bit nervous. The steering is so sensitive and it only takes a little bit.
In third go to half throttle on exit until you’re sure you can nail it. Don’t take curbs, use driving line if you don’t have the track really down. HOnestly imo it drives best abs and off tcs off, but in race so many people shoot sideways unexpectedly or run wide that I’d say turn it up! I’d say build up speed slowly. Run the line nice and smooth and slow and don’t push. Just ingrained the line over and over and get a controlled feel. Then start adding throttle more...It’s funny, the tracks I suck at I used no aids and just tried to go fast, the ones I’m good at I turned everything on and went slow a long time until I felt like I knew where I could go a bit faster...
Once you do a few you can run clean all day if you race sensibly. Jmo ymmv.

The pen system is good. I made some new friends at Fuji by just not being an idiot. If you imagine yourself in a real car and don’t try to run next to erratic people it doesn’t seem to ding you. To get back I literally had to stop on track a few times though unsure if people playing drift mode were going to unghost. Also got slammed into the wall on the last turn by someone and still got clean bonus.
It’s funny to see D drivers in gr2 without tcs on!

Anybody got tips on the kart race? I remember you were supposed to put TCS up or something? Going to have a play with that tonight. Struggled on Fuji with eating my tires, of course getting pushed off for daring to leave room doesnt help. That chicane on gardens is currently worse for me than the one on seaside. Need something else so looking to gamble heavy on some kart action.
I'm running TCS 3, BB 1 to the front. Only doing a 58.1x but it's stable.

Edit: 57.8 now

Jumped in a B race this morning after not racing in Sport Mode for about a month. Been having way more fun in lobbies without the stress of losing DR/SR because of random bad luck or a random idiot. Dragon Trail Gardens is one of my favorite tracks and it wasn't even 6am so why not? The rammers are still sleeping, right?

It was a mix of A+, A and B drivers. Used the Ferrari. I started 13th out of 15. Finished 9th. DR up 52 points. CRB. Noting really notable happened in this race. Everyone was driving pretty clean. Most of the drivers were using Meganes in this race... As most Gr4 races are full of them nowadays. Bums me out!

Dragon Trail Gardens is such a fun and realistic track with some tricky sections that just put a big smile on my face when I get them right. Wish PD would use it more in daily races.

After last night I think I’m just about done with this game.

Doing the race C GR2 race and my god.....can literally anyone take T1? In each of three races I ended up with about 8 seconds of penalties from the first and last corner dive bombs by others.

The last race I rage quit as enough was enough. T1 lap 1 and 3 seconds for literally nothing.

So now I’m down to DR A (used to be A+/S) with a SR of A. It’s hard enough to maintain A+ in Oceanic region. More often than not you’re the highest dr in a lobby with 51k points. So you have everything to lose and little to gain.

Man A race is a game of punt the leader get in a pack and beat yourselves to death.
Lol I’ve got a 4 race crb streak with a couple podiums but no idea how it’s get punted catch and pass and get punted again...
With tcs 3 it’s no problem but I’m sooo slow with it. At A these guys are animals!
I dunno I’m gonna wait till later maybe prime time will have better players...
They shouldn’t enable tcs on karts it makes it stupid. I’m glad to read about the upcoming update on the main page. Exciting stuff, maybe they will turn on more damage also...
A race on NA is totally dirty rn.

I wondered why you were in the slow group at the back end of the race near me last night. I got the side slam into the last turn as the wide open track there seems to invite that. There were most people through turn 1 lap 1 in my 2 races but after that first turn it became carnage. God help you if a car gets on the inside as they simply push you off on exit most of the time. The fresh tires vs worn battle in the last section doesnt help either. Saw many ghosted cars there. I love the race but do not do well there at all.

@benjoi84 will have a few random runs tonight and see which does what

Did a few more Race Cs, qualified 2nd (1:30.3 I think) an out of my 4 races, 4 of them I was murdered at Turn 1 and then dropped to 20th. Then after working my way up I'd be used as brakes for the chicane.
Just about had enough with this penalty system lol. Dropped me 5k DR and 13 SR today. Seems like Fuji will be a pass until I hit high A/S

You’ve gotta learn to see it coming and avoid it, it’s all we can do. Don’t hug the inside trying to defend a corner, it’s useless in most cases. Stay wide and brake deep into the corner, both turning in late and going for a late apex and watch them sail right by when you’re not there to bump into, it’s hilarious to see!

Quick in, slow out or slow in, quick out.... choose wisely.

That's exactly what I do lol, but regardless the car behind me will still think that my car is the apex of the corner... I'd guess Fuji is a big culprit for this due to it's very heavy and tricky braking zones (T1, T4, Dunlop, and the final 2 corners that are prime opportunities because of how wide you must approach them) which is basically half the track lol
And now I dropped to 24k after being at 29,900 yesterday, so going to get matched with dirtier drivers if this keeps up. Can't seem to get any speed on DTG (38.9 qual) so that doesn't seem like a good alternative :/
Anybody had similar experiences?

You definitely want ABS off for the Karts. 👍

Just don’t forget to turn it back on before driving anything else.

Does it make a difference if you don't use the brakes anyway

Karts are fun, karts plus 3 bar connections not fun. It's more like a Schrodingers cat experiment than racing with all these crappy connections on the NA server. I had some good races this morning, but keep at least 2 kart widths away. At least karts are small and while hop scotching back and forth have a relatively low chance of hitting you. Just don't use the brakes when someone's drafting behind you

Any suggestions on my racing in this video?

Nice lap! I’m not really familiar with the McLaren’s gearing, but I think you could be holding a higher gear in a couple of places. Try not dropping to 1st at the hairpin, try 2nd instead, same for the first chicane, stay in 3rd. You also really gotta strattle the red sausages to get the most out of it, you can get a much straighter line and a better exit that way, it’ll ruin every other lap when you get it wrong, but it’s the fastest line. :)

I entered my first B race with no qualifying or practice. I figured I'd just learn as I go. That's common for me on Mondays.
I wasn't doing very good or very bad. On the last lap I caught up to someone who crashed. I was careful not to run into him.
He decided to pull a dick move on the final straight.

Obviously he'll be learning a hard lesson, when I see him again. If any of you guys see him first, make sure to give him a 5 knuckle hello from me. :mischievous:

That sucks having your entire race ruined by asshats (and 30 hour contact penalties) but don't let him steal your joy...Does he need punched in his reproductives? Absolutely. But don't let hate consume you like Anakin Skywalker..There are other races to be won and you will need all of your limbs. Prost!

Understood. Thanks for the encouraging words. However, I am very much an eye for an eye type of person when it comes to people who victimize others for their own personal gain. This was a battle for 10th. I definitely didn't care. I started the race with no Q time, so finishing position meant nothing to me.
He did finish ahead of me, so no penalty for his deed. What he did worked out great for him. So, I will become the penalty system.
I'm sure he won't remember who I am. Therefore, just hitting him out of nowhere won't help with the behavior modification.
When I find him, I will bait him into punting me, then he will get it over and over and over again. He'll quit the race and then think about the reaction that was triggered by his action.

Looks like he had a decent run on you and it would have been close at the line. No need for that bush league bs.
