Race just started and this fool... you can see the near shunt of all shunts I was about to serve, but I wanted to see how the Genesis would finish.


I usually just tap the right rear of someone at the turn below if they've passed me at that corner with a bump and run.

I think I know the answer but is there any way to increase the odds of being matched with a friend in GTS Daily Races? Once your DR are similar, is there anything that would increase the chances that they would be matched with you? Or does the game ignore PSN friend status, GTS follows, Party connections, etc. Because it would be great if you could join with people, assuming they fit match criteria already.
 
Is there any way to simply vaporize TTs on sight in this game? Went for a race C, was tight and bumpy, but ok. However, I kept getting wedged in blocks of TTs. I would gain, only to find a TT unghosting on the racing line in the chicane. Or I am holding station behind a battling pair and the person behind goes for a silly dive at a bad spot or they bump.me in braking, sending me bouncing into the guys in front and back to them. Madness. More like the race A stuff. Anywho.

Sort of went ok until lap 6 when a guy took me feathering the throttle a the COMI as a sign of weakness. Dives to my left sending me into the wall on the right. Lovely. He did end up finishing last, I was only 2 up after that.

If you can hold well in the corners the WRX is a pretty good weapon. It gets rumbled a bit on the straights, but if you get a clear exit you can usually accelerate out better to stall the TTs slightly.

Edit: after a thought, I know people here who.race clean in the TT. It is the driver, not the car. But it sure seems to give a lot of people some extra confidence they don't need. 2 more races, 1 good, 1 bad, but both was punted off track lap 1 by an overeager Audi. Ugly race I was starting in p13 anyway, had a faster driver take a good.line inside on the last left hairpin, guy 0.5 back tries to follow as I leave room and barges straight into my fender and launches me off. I collect someone else bouncing back onto the track and get 3 seconds for it. Now dead last, 3 behind, and 3 sec penalty still to serve. And not the end of lap 1. It was a looooong race back there.:banghead:
I have also had varied results at DTS. First race was a disaster, seems like at least one car in three thinks dive bombing the entry to the chicane of death is a good move. Second race I was more wary and got a CRB :boggled: in a mixed A/B/C room.

Best bet is to try for it at slower times of day when less people are playing, but no, not really any other way unless your getting into the top split races.

Just come out of a race and oh boy was it bad started out at the front only to get punted off lap 1 then again on lap 2 in to last, from 4th. Whenever I tried to get past anyone from there on they were either completely oblivious to there surroundings or just tried to drive me off track. What's more some of them were so slow out of corners and through the chicane of death that getting a good run to pass was even more difficult. That race dropped me 45 SR in one race. Not happy at all. All that is doublely bad for my DR which is as low as it's been in a long time now.

Edit: won the race after this from pole by15 seconds!

Here's a portion of a C race last night where things ended not so well for me. lol. Prior to lap 7, I was caught up in some chaos in first 2 laps, which dropped me from 10 to 18th (out of 19 total).

Credit to The_Judge508 for capturing all this, and messaging me personally about his view of the incident. I appreciate it.

Here's a portion of a C race last night where things ended not so well for me. lol. Prior to lap 7, I was caught up in some chaos in first 2 laps, which dropped me from 10 to 18th (out of 19 total).

Nice race.

A part of me is triggered because he’s using traction on an FF car. Its not needed. Also braking at the chicane. That’s just me.
 


Daily Race B in the DBR9 just to gain some SR. Qualified 11th, made it up to almost fifth wit the final lap being one of the more eventful I've had in a while at this track. The Atenza I was racing , meanwhile:grumpy:......
 
Ive been grinding out Spa this week. Started getting close to my quali time in races this morning in good lobbies. So went back to do some quali runs knocked 7ths off to a 2.19.0. I was amazed and still am. Pole and the win followed,then top 3 finishes.. Now mixing with A rated in drivers.. Never thought it. Screenshot_20200521-194322_Chrome.jpg

I tend to tap the brakes at the tighter part of the CoD (1st part going in reverse this week) to help put weight on the front tire of the first direction & just power out going the other direction.

Most of the racing, bar 2 suspects has been ok, just problems with a congested track and overeager people forgetting the leagues of understeer that thing has. Only 1 push off track was naughty, the others were a just us being boxed in. But it still sucks.

@Trone_Colby I also brake for the COMI, but in the WRX I just tap it at the 100 board and can floor it from there. Passed a lot of cars by coming out of there more than 20 mph up on the TT in front heading to the hairpin following.
 
Just to counter the grumbles here is a clip from my last race last night where I didnt get knocked off lap 1, and heading through the COMI lap 1 I realized things might be going my way in this lobby.


And for additional reference here are my runs through the chicane when I had clean air and wasn't having to be cautious about punting people. I can say that curb on the right turn in seems to really launch the WRX, like it has a suspension made of super balls or something.
 
RCZ has been nerfed by 4BHP, but 25kg lighter. :rolleyes:

Supra is lighter.

TT isn't on the BOP list.
