This would make sense in a race that is set up to have tire wear but I am racing Daily Race B where it clearly states "Tire Wear = None". Also your slipstream statement makes sense unless I am pole position coming into a turn with no one around and my car is driving and handling like I've never even tried it out before. Like I said it's frustrating and really makes the Daily Races unenjoyable at times.
It is possible that with additional people in a room, that could introduce some input lag. That or there is an an actual reduction grip in race conditions programmed into the game to mimic how times are always slower than in qualifying.

I take it with the replies that I am not the only one who notices these things. That makes me feel a little better.. I thought I was going crazy! This is the only game I have rage quit in a long time.

It's almost as if it's a requirement to have one divebomber at Monza isn't it :grumpy:
During the warm-ups people were already chatting about how they're drinking beer (and one even asked where's the brake button. WHAT THE HELL?!).
And of course, at T1 someone had to divebomb. Luckily I saw him incoming and adjusted my turn-in, but P1 who overtook me on the straight wasn't as lucky...
Bastard already knew the braking point because it's my greeting message but still manages to mess that corner up. Muppets.

This was my assumption for a while until I noticed that you really do have to reduce your speed through the corners and you can't just hold the same speed with earlier inputs.

I think the fuel load hypothesis has the most merit ATM but.im not yet convinced

So just a question, where do the DR points go when the entire room crashes?

The 11 pm race disconnected right before the race started and it looked like everyone got booted, mass disconnect mes sages scrolling down. That cost me 1500 DR and 5 SR... So are all those points simply gone, or could there be a lucky few left in the room to collect a massive boost?Once I had a race all alone when everyone got booted at the start, yet did not receive any DR for the hollow victory.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound?
Some things we may never know.

I've been in a room.where mass disconnect left only me and another fellow, I got the points for that race. What point did it disconnect? After warmups or before?

Not gonns lie I'm still a bit frustrated by what happened, but at least the driver knew it's his fault and wasn't intentional

Also, hi @Sven Jurgens, nice meeting you

Wasn't able to answer in time in the chat, but I wasn't planning to fuel save this race. The M4's my only Gr. 4 car at the moment so no choice for me. I wanted to try out a more aggressive strategy and all
Until that mistake from the other driver ruined my race

There goes my 99% win rate. Woohoo.

Right when the room opened I think. Instead of greeting messages, disconnect messages.

I- moth- go- sigh

People serving penalties on the pit entry are the worst. Last race I couldn't avoid a car serving a penalty in the last turn or maybe he overshot, lot of traffic, he was going way too slow, could not avoid. Then he comes after me, punts me, bashing on the straight until he had enough penalties to leave me behind... (leave me in front rather)

I think you don't lose anything when disconnected during the "waiting for players" phase. Yet as soon as you see the lobby you're screwed, wager entered, no refunds.
Think you're right, had 2 dcs at loading screen the other day, no damage (from what i could figure).

I had a few great races yesterday. No punting and banging. Nice clean prolonged on track battles. At the back of the field mind you, since I seem to have sort of lost my pace atm.
On a side note, I haven´t had connectivity issues, but do These dcs happen while using Wifi or actually wiring the Playstation to your Router?

I think most of us encounters racers do not know where to kill the penalty properly and safely.

I was lucky on Sunday that a Japanese (leader) cut the track limit of the 2nd corner of Interlargo. He decided to serve the penalty on the following short straight. So once he got the penalty he flashed the left turning lamp and we used the right lane to pass him safely. 👍

I wonder if it would be one day all SR S racers do the same (give warning to the back and off the race lane).

Know what to call the 1st turn now at monza. We can call it the whack-a-alien (off toy story) turn.

I got disconnected during a race :( I was having a fun battle with the leader Vantage and was a really close fight all throughout until an error message greeted me :grumpy:

Had a good experience on Dragon Trail last night. Was following car in front when he went close to the pit wall and then turned his hazard lights on. I moved out if his draft and then he slowed down to drive off his penalty. Now that's the proper way to drive off a penalty :bowdown:

Yeah he was asking what happened to you, said he was having a fun battle as well. Eh, I got second for a change with one less alien in the room :) Btw braking point is before the 150. I tried your advice once and got a bit too close for comfort! Or maybe it's just my laggy fingers. I use the monitor right before the 150 as my braking point.

Anyway, a lot of great races on Monza tonight however I'm way behind sleep again.
Oh crap, it's going to be another late one tomorrow, GR.3 on Mount Panorama! 8 laps.
Not going to wait for A and B to change, need to sleep asap!

Hahahahaha
I had something similar happening to me. I don’t know why someone slowed down entering the pits and I sent him flying through the pitlane and the pitting animation started almost instantaneously. When I left the pits, I had a penalty. :)

Really? Hahaha sorry if it's a bit too late :dunce:
To be fair though, it is a bit easy to overshoot that corner. When someone's in front of me though I adjust my brake point to the white line just before the 150 (And I brake when the car in front passes that line)
That way the corner's a bit easier to handle since I don't have to turn in while braking which makes the car feel like it's gonna go wide

Glad to hear that he had fun :) I was a bit worried because I accidentally went side-by-side with him at the left-right-left (or was it T1?) without any prior overlap. I let him through and hoped that he wouldn't get mad over that

It's the easiest thing ever  I did the Premium Sport Lounge race with the Cobra on RSS tires and even tho I always braked at some point between the 200 and 150m board I overshot the corner 5 times in 10 laps
Wouldn't be that much of a problem if the game didn't reset/penalizes you if you used the emergency exit and drive around the big blocks on the straight connection road at slow speed :dunce:

It's also beyond my understanding why I get a 5 second penalty if I crash myself off into the wall. The game should detect that I lost a lot of time already and shouldn't additionally give out a penalty. It's okay for Tokyo maybe but for every other track wall-collision-penalties should be disabled :banghead:

Actually even if the game doesn't allow you to use the emergency exit, no resets would do :)

...if only this is the only dumb "solution" of the penalty system.

I encountered this in the manufacturer race on Monday on Nürburgring GP. The guy behind me overshot the NGK chicane in the last lap, probably in anger as I overtook him before (cleanly). So it was one of this situations where you just know that the guy behind you will - intentionally or not - miss his braking point. I turned in late to let him rocket past me as well as the second apex of the chicane. He re-entered the track in front of me and then served his penalty on the racing line of the last corner.

I couldn't avoid him, but didn't spin, passed him and did not get a penalty, so all good. But still... idiot.

I also had the opposite on Dragon Trail. Two guys in front of me were trading blows for the last lap or so, then when they got round to the finish line, one car went right and slowed down and the other just slowed down coming up to the line managed to slot myself in between both cars to gain the places.

Different types of track need different rules , I don't understand why PD don't improve some logical "parameter" inside the game [lazynes, timing, cost of programmation (testing activities) or console hardware limits .. we don't know].

And not only the rules but also the BOP should be related to the specific track in order to have a real balance of prestation avoiding the "one make" reaces with the porsche-megane (911) or BMW-megane (M6) or MAZDA-Megane (Atenza) etc etc

I didn't think you'd even consider saying sorry so thanks for the consideration 👍
It definitely wasn't intentional. I was going off the race before when you didn't pit, so I wrongfully assumed I had a gap behind me to pit entry to at least take some time off. I know not to attempt that again now.
It's the second worst after the penalties you get for minor taps :scared:
The worst being penalties you get for absolutely no contact at all?
