Copped 7 seconds of penalties in two corners. End of the Mulsanne - in the tow, braked slightly too late, car in front braked too early. Straight off and 3 second penalty. Going into Indianapolis, fully commit, car in front starts spinning off by themself in the kink and scrub off all corner speed. I hit them and get 4 second penalty.

Next lap I get bump drafted which for some reason after the update now seems to result in a 1 second penalty? Is this from the update or is this just from the high speeds?

I raced some more this evening/night 'to get my SR back up'. The races were great, the penalty system its usual self. I started at 71 SR, nothing but great races, ended at 46 SR  If you get bump drafted, it costs 10 SR again.

Any chance of SR gain is usually gone 10 seconds into the race. I'm starting in the back no quali, but never actually last. So 80% chance to get bumped from behind while avoiding the car in front. Thus the most to be gained from the rest of the race is -1 SR. One more time getting bumped, -11 SR for the race. Oh well, I'm at 35K DR, I wouldn't mind it to be reset. Start further back and lower incorrect penalties.
At the end, out accelerating a 787B by not shifting. All with that lovely engine sound.
Awesome. PD ruined the Group C race that I'd been waiting for since these cars were added to the game before I even had a chance to race in it...👍:banghead:
I'm not risking the hit to my SR before tomorrow's FIA races. I could make an alt but I'm not interested in grinding for credits before I can even buy one of these things...

Had another handful of good races at lemans yesterday afternoon. I am not doing all that great due to my own errors still. Track limits and visits to the beach, but have been fortunate to have good clean competition. A few little taps but nothing that felt intentional or malicious. Hope to get home in time to run a few more today before the wife gets home. My boy sturk made me a sweet livery, so if ya see me, you'll know it lol

I have a bad habit of visiting the Mulsanne beach. Order a Daiquiri, kick back in the sun. Just can't seem to stay away.

In hindsight, this may have been the correct action but it isn't racing anymore if one willingly concedes their position because of an incompetent penalty system.

I want neither, lol. Both deathtraps.

It's amazing how it hasn't appeared for almost 2 years, good to see it back.

Moreover it's refreshing to see originality again, long may it continue. Super Formula or F1500 Sainte-Croix C next week?

Not the F1500 please. I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

I might run one or two tomorrow but I'm in @Drex124 90 minutes gr C race at Fuji Short tomorrow. That might wear me down some

That's what I don't like about GTS. The races are so short. Barely time to get into a rhythm. And I'm nowhere near good enough to race anything but the dailies.

I know PD wants to squeeze in as many races as possible, but 3 or 4 laps is kind of ridiculous.

Join a league or a one-off event, there is a whole section of the forum devoted to it.
While the daily Races are fun and what I run 75% of the time it's the other 25% that is the most fun and what I learn most from.

That was me ,doing some "relax racing" on my alternate account.I don't think he got my message. We were both in the 962 trying to keep up with the R92's. Good lobby, clean and fast racing :gtpflag:
I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were there. :dopey:
I hope I didn't bump you.

Whether it's right or wrong, I will race the people I know differently than I race against strangers. I guess I'm prejudiced in that way. My mindset will be completely different.

Maybe that's some weird psychological stuff, but my friends get to run into my car without any revenge sort of things coming back their way. I usually apologize to them for being in the way.

I'll look into it. Thanks. Are there DR/SR 'concerns' in those races? That may be a problem with my driving. I tend to not push an issue. I'm not out to make enemies. But I do have to learn to be more ... assertive, as opposed to aggressive.

Not really. DR/SR are not affected by lobby races, but the people arranging the races expect you to be clean.
I am B/S and share the track with people from almost all grades in lobbies with no problems at all

Before it was just an SR loss though. I don't ever remember getting a penalty for it. Leave it to PD to undo literally the ONLY good thing about any of the penalty system "updates" within the last year...
No, there have been time penalties for bump drafting before. Tokyo was notorious for them for a while.

Here's a fun save

A 360 works just as well to slow down for the Ford Chicanes

Last race I did was incredible. Battle with a R92CP swapping places a couple times. The penalty system interfered of course, gave me 1 sec for forcing another car off road while it was the other way around. Not that a penalty was needed we were both fine, racing incident. I got to pass him again thanks to the penalty.

No progress getting SR back up, at 50 now. I guess that's an average of +0.67 SR per race so far today  DR reset next week is guaranteed.

Some lobbies are more serious than others. There will be details available in the race thread. ie for fun/for real. Real racing is mostly around DR A/SR S and above level. Below DR A level lobbies for fun may be more useful and enjoyable.

Speaking from experience, it's the best way to learn to be more assertive. Great learning environment. 👍

Cool. Just saw the 'Geezers Club'. I thought, my kind of people. But I have to figure out what language they're speaking while explaining their races. Perhaps I'll give them a shout.

Nice save bud, should've sent him this after the race

Argentinian guy must have wondered what kind of sorcery you used to get back at him instantly

So I'll go have some fun while learning. Hopefully to some day be real. Thanks.

No not at all ,you were racing from the back .I was up front trying to keep up with the Nissan ,trying out different cars .Yeah, you never want to wreck a friend unless it's on purpose :sly: .I'm usually racing on my alternate account @thegorn64 in the evening when I have had a few

I admit, when I race with you guys, I'm a little more careful and also don't defend as much. If anything I'm way too polite.

I'm still wondering about matching players in the daily races lobbies. My last race C I started with door number 13, while having 32k DR A, but there was two DR S players, three DR A+, mostly DR A and two DR B... I was 99 SR, I suppose the others as well (all SR S). If the game matches highest ranked players (all SR99), and there were A+ and B, does it mean there was only about ten DR A SR 99 players playing at the moment in EMEA? Wednesday 18:00 PM? Seems rather impossible...

think this is how it just works! A good example for this for me was...

Did a long race with someone being a little dirty with me. At some point we contact again, I didn’t think it was on me, but I waited for him. Rest of the race was a completely different feel/atmosphere and much cleaner.

Works this way for strangers, so especially for friends/past clean racers

1 Race C this morning. Moved up a few spot. Finished blue. Good race. I'm having a good week, stat wise. Glad I chose to focus on this race this week.

But got a track limit penalty 4 out of 6 laps. There was only one driver w/o a penalty at the end. Similar to my other races this week. Which all equals out so no issue. Just looks stupid and pointless.
