Have anyone experience a game freeze during a race? I encountered this last night. I messed up on a turn. I wouldn’t been too bad. When I recovered, my game froze like I was about to DC. It snapped out of it like 10 seconds later. I ended up quitting because I was in the back with so much gap and half the race was done. Here’s the video. You won’t see the freeze but will notice the time loss:

Happened at Monza to me recently, 2nd part if 1st chicane 1st lap, one of the few times I got the perfect exit & not been involved in an incident. Stared at the screen for a few seconds, thought about what could have been
Had to close game down as it didn't respond to any input.
Could have won that race :cheers:

Can't agree with this more. On a typical lap in a race, you're on full throttle for ~70% of the track and braking for maybe 5% of the track. Yes a lot of passes are completed under braking, but you gain time and catch other drivers on the throttle.
Aris made a clip out of the segment of his Nurburgring circuit walk that explains this:

After two A races at C B...
It’s unraceable, got punted in both, caught and punted them, no sr gain.
Race A is like a bad gf.

Edit 60 sr now c race, IF YOU UNINTENTIONALLY GET BELOW S ITS FULL PREVENT BLEEDING MODE!!!!!

B SR IS WORSE THAN EVER!!!

This is why the massive SR knocks for barely breathing on a bumper hurt so much now. It is good that it is hard to climb back out, but man it can be painful when you didnt earn tour spot down there

It's because of the awful car. Different story if it was rear-wheel drive. Pitiful car choice by PD.
At race C, you'll have more room to breathe. With 8 laps, you can afford to be really patient.

Trans Am woulda been a better choice. D E now, going D E B race.
No patience.
Jmo but below 90 sr you shouldn’t really even drive anywhere near another car.
Just get back to s.
I may have to resort to qualifying and trying to crb from the front.
Wait! This c race I’m gonna wait 30 seconds then go...Then pit and stay and see if I crb.
Last c I did was so funny, I start last, foot on brake waiting my ten seconds...Car ahead starts but maybe five cars ahead jumped the start. One though didn’t, it just sat there unghosted my hapless friend in fifteenth tapped him going by, instant 2 seconds roflmao. Literally race start, 1.5 seconds elapsed and the poor SOB copped a pen haha

Note to self:
Make sure your wheel hasn't turned off in between daily races.
Starting 4th on grid at spa, 3,2,1 -ghost yoyo into pit wall:banghead:
19secs behind last placed driver on track. Managed to catch up and finished 2nd last. Lost 500DR and my 5 race streak of CRB:boggled:

Enjoying Spa but not a fan of the rolling start through the chicane. Great if you are P1-2, not bad for P3-4, but pretty awful for everyone else. TC is also really helpful if you are getting the green light while in the chicane. I dislike the T1 chaos of grid starts as well, but think it might be the fairest option in this case.
I started 8 or 9 the other day, just entering chicane. Forgot to set TCS to 1 or 2. Cold tyres. Thought I was being gentle. Umm ... Nope.

or none of that happens if you dont try to squeeze yourself where there's no space

I didnt touch anyone and left space by moving left til i was off track. Definitely no way the red car trying to squeeze 2 cars off the track on what is basically a straight could be to blame :odd:

All would have been fine if mr red car could keep right....i mean I managed to keep left on a curb without taking out 2 cars...

11660669174_7f6a08fa50_b willow.jpg I'm flipping out ,we're racing at Willow next week

It's me then, I can't seem to get out of the 28.7s. :dunce: Good job making that 'Vette fly.

Edit: I found 3 more tenths in the Jag...:rolleyes:
Lol that's exactly what happened to me earlier this week. I set a 28.4 in the Corvette on Monday and couldn't get anymore out of it, then set a 28.1 in the Jag, then found another 0.4s on top of that in the 'Vette to set my current time on Tuesday. The Jag is way easier put the power down with out of the final chicane and La Source, and it's got marginally higher top speed, so at first it was easier for me to drive it quickly. Then I noticed how understeery it was compared to the Corvette, so I tried the Corvette again paid extra attention to my corner exits and eliminated the deficits I had to the Jag.

Cockpit is the only view. What's the point of a V8 if you can't hear it?

I have always wished you could select the audio separate from the view you select... the audio in the interior view is much better than the audio from the bumper cam for sure.

Aris made a clip out of the segment of his Nurburgring circuit walk that explains this:

The game really seems to put a priority on this... I am curious what people who play the game, and also race in real life, think about how it rewards this particular style of driving... to some extent I think it is plausible, but that it absolutely prevents you from 'overworking' a car to achieve similar speed seems a little faulty in the 'sim' sense... but I am curious whether people like @SpecMiata-JSW @Ryan Sandall think, who may have a good perspective on whether the game's insistence on this slow-in fast out mantra as the only means to optimum time are completely in line with real physics, when going up against a stopwatch.

I otherwise have trouble, without actual g-forces, gaging the cornering speed I carry, especially in corners like Pouhon. I feel like I'd be able to do better in real life trying to carry speed through corners, than always relying on hitting a calculated speed window on entry then getting on the throttle as early as possible...

Next Week's Dailies:
A: N400 (provided) - Suzuka - 3 laps - SH - Grid Start
B: Gr.3 - Red Bull Ring - 5 laps - RH - Rolling Start
C: Gr.4 - Big Willow - 15 laps - RM,RH - x2 fuel, x7 tyres - Grid Start w. False start check
RBR...another track where the Corvette is strong :mischievous:. Based on the last FIA race, it seems to be a good track for big-engined FR cars in general. I might have to set a qualifying time in the Vantage and only use the 'Vette in the actual race though...

I don’t see myself gaining sr this week, not if I wanna enjoy playing.
D D right now, and I have to admit, I can’t take it, I can’t take the wrath of the clueless. These idiots will still try to start crap even being 7-8 seconds a lap slower on Autopolis.
The player that can accept being overtaken is very very rare, here.
I don’t feel like qualifying and running 8-10 races alone just to return to planet Earth driving quality.
On B race D E the players are fast. I believe there’s quite a few very good players on alt at prime time that just stay there and race dirty against each other.
I can only play prime time lately which is the most aggressive time too.
I’m sort of annoyed that I reset myself to test this out, at this point.
It’s another world below S, it’s a case where to get out you have to accept being a punching bag if you drive near the other cars.
I can confirm though if you drive steady, even getting hit etc 95 percent of the time you won’t get pens and sr downs.
Just hold racing line, if you defend get over there early, we’ll before braking zone.
I’m missing planet Earth at this point. Oh, I got bored too quickly to sit out the race in the pits.
I came out after 8 minutes, passed the leader and set fl lol

Big Willow will be the only good race next week for me.

Edit at low sr people suck

Has race C ever been at Willow Springs? If it has, I must have missed it, because I can ever remember pitting there.
I have seen people unintentionally pit at Big Willow when they badly screwed up the final turn.
Hasn't been since I've played the game. Just a Race B in Gr3 in late Feb this year and I think once in a Gr4/Race B last summer when I look through the archives.

It's easy to do! I've done it before for sure...

It's funny because that turn tends to screw us up so often, but I don't think it needs to be dramatic... the way that last sweeper sets up, it does really pay to be careful on entry and then hit that last portion's apex late... there isn't a ton of time to be gained in pushing it to an extreme, but you can really ruin your whole race with an effort to force that last 0.10 of time by being reckless there.

I am kind of looking forward to running it in Gr4... haven't really run much other than Gr3 there, save for that Mitsubishi 3000GT race a few months ago. I bet it's gonna be really nip and tuck, though, with the underpowered cars all in close quarters.
