Next week's dailies
A: N600 @ Route X, 1 lap, RH / Setup enabled
B: Gr.4 @ Autopolis, 4 laps, RH
C: Gr.3 @ Brands Hatch, 13 laps, RM/RH, Tires x8 Fuel x3

Edit: Got A and B order mixed up because Kudos is glitched, now correct

ROUTE X BABY
1 lap SSRX as a Daily is crazy. And I'm pretty sure everyone has been waiting for this type of crazy. 👍

Nowadays, I'm just so perplexed when I don't get a penalty for something like this. Of course any racer knows that I didn't deserve one.
When I saw him get a track limit penalty, I knew I just need to stay within a second to beat him.
I really had nowhere to go. I jammed on the brakes when I saw him sliding into my path.
Pretty sure the penalty system just flips a coin.

What's your Quali/Race FLs? I'd like to compare times.
Also, I've found best approach for T1 with the C9 is to brake at the cone, completely lift and then pin the throttle as soon as you get the car rotated.

Someone on this thread also mentioned 'revving the socks off', thanks for the tip!

Or just before the 150m board if you dont use cones

In a surprise turn of events Race A is my favourite race this week. I'm not a big Porsche guy but that Carrera in Riviera Blue

Eventually succumbed to Dailies and tried race C this evening. Initially did quali laps in the 787B, but after using the Sauber, I almost immediately bested my 787B time after 3 or so laps by 0.5sec+, eventually dropping it down to a 1;28.2. Still, I was always going to use the 787B for the race, as it's better to drive personally. Lap was good enough to put us P6 (I think?) in a stagnated DR lobby from A to C's. Race was as chaotic as I expected dailies to be coming back after a while, lots of "argy-bargy" and short tempers . Admittedly, I was a bit rusty getting used to it again, including missing my braking points for the Dunlop chicane on 2 occasions, sadly taking another casualty with me both times, whilst trying to avoid people. Did give the position back on both occasions, though on the 1st incident, chaos ensued behind that resulted in and me and at least two others being shoveled off. Yo-yoed in and out of the top 10 for a couple laps before getting some kind of clear air to finish P6 in that race. Somehow came out with blue SR and positive (but negligible) DR in that race, likewise with the 2nd race.

Think I'll leave it with Dailies again after those two races, it's tempting to go again but the racing is so chaotic and stressful, even when your actively trying to avoid trouble and other peoples incidents. Yes the penalty system isn't perfect (you work with what you have), but the attitude of many takes the fun out when you try and have fun with others, who are just trying to race cleanly too. Granted, the times at which I play tend to affect lobby strength and so quality can vary, but still. Shame really, as Fuji and group C is a fantastic combo, and some of the best races I've had have been at Fuji (e.g. Gr.2 at Fuji in race C the last time I did dailies). Think I'll stick to organised events and FIA races for now though 👍.

Argh my apologies to purple yellow 702. I smashed some pints earlier so there was some contact when I forced the Megane in there, my bad man, sorry.
If I'd known that was you, we could have teamed up! Rwd is always tough in these FF fests. The lines are so different. Killing my SR in this weeks B race. No matter how clean I try to be, some Audi will come barging up the inside, or through the dirt, since they know there is almost no chance of spinning out, and if they hit you as you're turning in, chances are you get the penalty anyway.

Yeah I am using Megane tonight cuz I’m taking my “vitamins” and letting off some steam in game due to a few personal situations that are not good.
I went 3 wide there because the effin brewin company near @sturk0167 makes killer stuff that’s a bit stronger than I’m used to.
I’m going on on c now in a total haze so we’ll see how it goes...
As an aside often it’s darkest just before the dawn...

Ran the RC F after doing some Nations FP laps. Pulled pulled puuullllllllled the TTS and RCZs. They couldn't catch me up the hills on the back straight and up the hill thru the esses.

Beast with grunt from 2nd gear onwards. I had a Lancer in front of me, that kind of got bullied by a Scirocco into T1 at the start. Scirocco was part of the Cee Tee FoBo crew. Something like that. There were about 5-7 of those players in the top 10.

Cars behind were kind, but since I had to keep off the gas for the Lancer at a couple points, a TT behind had to scrap with an RCZ that thought it could just motor past us. Nope!

TT reclaimed the spot and I was remaining clean. Got a bit baulked by the Lancer on the last lap. The bowl hairpin slowed me down. Got a good run thru the esses and Liqui Moly bridge. Just blew past the Lancer up and down the straight. Out accelerated it out of the bowl hairpin and I'm gone.

Felt so sweet to drive a car that doesn't struggle.

Oh, moved up from 8th to 7th.

So been driving a few race C on both accounts. Definitely fun, and quite the challenge to stay dead consistent for the 13 laps. Then you have people suffering unfortunate lag issues. Had a good time laughing at this during the race. Especially the catch up laps on the track map.

Oh well, the Megane is fun to drive since you can dive inside and all, but it IS tough to go rwd against the tt brigade -at the front- from the back anything’s fine.
The c race I did I went last to third. The Porsche is nice to drive.

Tried Fuji. Quit on T1. Why would I want to continue?

I don't know what I did wrong but it feels like the game is intentionally trying to make me quit by matching me with worse 🤬 everyday.

My race C today was overall good for me but I am not sure I would call it racing. . . more like time trials. After the start I hung back just a little to avoid the T1 mess but apparently I hung back too much because once I straightened out heading towards T2 everyone else was already turning at T2. And my time trials began but I remember seeing another car around lap 12 passing me. The matching in the lobby was S/A/B which made me wonder why try but I drove for 12 laps anyways (I was lapped so didn't get to do lap 13).

Not really much of a race but I did try it. I think tonight I might give race A a shot and probably a few more race B attempts. I can do better at them.

Good luck and enjoy your racing.

Just go very close to the right, slow and follow the curb in T1 and you will most times be ok through it.

So I have to ask, do others think driving a GR.1 car is like shooting a bullet, then shooting it again, and again, and again . . .

I really had a hard time turning and applying power during the turns. I tried trail braking but either wasn't doing it correctly or the Mercedes wasn't ready for it. It seemed that the car wouldn't take power until I straightened it out in the direction I wanted. Applying power any other time ended up with the start of a spin/quick spin recovery. I ended up drifting a lot through corners. The last few corners really sucked.

I don't remember having this problem at other tracks with the Nissans or Toyotas.

Me, this car, or GR.1 racing in general?

A mix. Gr C of gr 1 are all very light with big power and turbolag. That's a recipe for spins..

I am an advocate for TCS on these cars, especially the Sauber, in daily races. First, it will help you eliminate wheel spin, second, it makes it a lot harder to punt you.
I know that you can go faster with no TCS than with it, under ideal circumstances, but daily races are seldom Ideal circumstances...
I run the Mazda 787b, and on TCS 2. And yes, the Sauber is faster. But I pass them when they spin.

I'm having fun versus the FFs. Again, RC F has the muscle. I think I saved the replays. Will post to show, in a A/S rooms, RWD can take it to the FF brigade.

I even had a TT signal for me to pass it up the hill. I was giving it a hard time, even though the player was keeping pace. I wasn't going to divebomb it, but didn't realise it was signalling until the last minute. I was going to jump back behind it, but it had slowed a bit and I flipped it's right rear.

Backed off and the player got 2 seconds. That was messed up. We had enough gap to the car behind and I made sure to keep a 2 second gap, so the player maintained the position. Was typing to explain what happened and half the grid left post race.

Edit: Only have the first race.

Not sure what car to use in race c, I haven’t really used the group c’s that much.

Tried the C9 but the massive spike in power from the turbo lag is a pain in the ass when going through the low speed stuff.

Going to try the 787 next, the high revving engines are usually easier to manage for me.

I’d say when I was first driving group1/c I felt braking perfectly straight then coming off sooner than group three was something I worked on.
For me I find gr3 fr cars loooove trail braking heavy. I think it depends what car you’ve been driving most before taking on a group c monster. (How it seems/feels)

On a separate subject, this week I lack time, and not being able to invest time (for me anyhow) means being off pace period.
I’ve had fun though in the B realm. People have been good in the times I have raced.
The B race WILL at all levels have a few dirty ones, quick sprint, class that’s more easily controlled than group 3, track, it somehow combines into a dirty one every few races, or it did when I’ve entered.
The bottom line is this game can satisfy those who thirst maximum investment of effort and competition, or like me in this case, those who quench their thirst and unwind with a few races.
J’aime GTS.

It's amazing how clean driving promotes clean driving among people who actually like to race. I shared a B race that was a blast, and I got the crb from the back. Finished 7th, but battled 2 guys for the spot in the second half. It's under 9/18 b crb, or something like that. Back for another now.
