Ahh Race B has lost some of its fun now, when it started it was a good mix of cars - if anything there were a few Ford GT’s. I was in the Pug VGT then switched to the Mclaren F1 & had a few great fun races.

now it’s all F1’s... when the field is identical it seems to lose some of the fun factor (though different to a Race A when it’s compulsory).

EDIT: ... and 3 SR downs in one race due to a guy who blocked every time I tried to pass him. I love this game, but the penalty system is still ****ed

I tried all the suitable cars and the pug, Citroën and Mazda I cannot get near the times I set with the Ford or the mclaren. Mclaren fastest for me but Ford easier to race with as it turns in a bit better.

Alright, I tried Tokyo in the GT-R but it's too depressing when you get dropped on the straight. How do you drive this McLaren? What's the brake balance? How do you trail brake in an MR car without doing donuts? Why are its brakes so bad?

It's funny for B I started out in an F1 but switched to the Beetle. Yes the Beetle will lose on the straight so I dont fight it but tuck in for the tow as best I can. I find they hold their own on the rest of the track and tend to gap in the twisty bits . I find it amusing to watch the F1 ping pong off the walls and can imagine the person in control doing their best Jeremy Clarkson "MOAR POWER" impressions. I don't need to force a pass because they seem to kill themselves I just need to be patient

I am sure as the week goes on folks will get used to the F1 and drive a bit more to it's limits in the twisty bits but for now I am having some fun mid pack scraps

Why are you using the brakes? Seriously, there's the first and last turn and well... that's it other than a light tap. Only the last turn really benefits from trail braking.

And the Beetle? You will lose a solid second down the straight. McLaren is not hard to drive here, just make sure you apex early on pretty much every turn, especially the super fast, butt clenching left mid way through the lap, i life rather than brake.

I really liked the Mcclaren when I drove it. Seems like it brakes much much better on weak if I remember right and a smooth input.
I’m not into SR suicide though, not until after Nations coming up.

Heh that is probably true for folks who know how to drive the F1 in the higher ratings but down in the basement not so much at the moment. It seems time gained on the straight more often than not will be lost when they play ping pong with the walls in the twisty bits.

As I said I don't fight the straight nor do I expect this to last as I would hope folks figure out how to negotiate the track as the week goes on. For now I am doing ok with the beetle and more importantly having fun with it

How many of us have a nemesis driver online? Like @NevilleNobody?
I know I have more than one, makes things spicy...
There’s one in particular I owe. He’s about a tenth up on me most times. This songs for you buddy. Pray I never start behind you...

Edit my most hated nemesis/enemy has 4 accounts I know of and has smashed me into a wall while I was grinding for my first A plus when I was cleanly overtaking for the lead which set me back about another hour, punted me, blocked me, sideswiped me to prevent passing, he’s a real jerk, but only if you are faster.
I think I have a serious problem whereby I can’t forgive this behavior.
For that one guy, he won’t finish anywhere near the front in ANY race, if I get a chance to take him down...

I don't think he knows he is my nemesis but we pair together a lot when my SR falls in the B's. He is just that smidge faster than me most place, i'll a 1.50.00 and he will do a 1.49.85. But I race way, way smarter and often beat him, he never sits back to get a draft on the next straight, half a gap and he goes for it, zero forward thinking, absolutely zero. But in clear air he will just edge away a bit.

that is
Your instinct is correct.
If your ratings are important to you, and unless you know you're gonna have the pole position, don't go there.
It's a nasty situation. :scared:

that is the reason why I will not race in prime time in the daily's in A+/ A dr rooms ( 6pm to 10pm Monday thru Sunday). I normally will race the daily's early Saturday and Sunday from about 5am to 9am after that it gets risky. I made the mistake of doing a race C at around 10pm on monday and the room was all A+/ A SR S and it was the most bargy, dive bombing, squeeze you off the track aggressive dirty race and this is an A/S room with many drivers in the top 100 in qualy times just no respect for the other racers and the fact that you are giving room to the guy in front to try and set up a clean pass its was more like a nascar race.... OHH you're in front of me i will just push you out of the way

It generally is aggressive in evenings. Dealing with that is why I work on tight lines for tight turns, go defensive if they are within dive range..Make my car wide...etc...
You just can’t leave a whisper of an opening, you can’t make mistakes or bobble..
I can do 1 or 2 max in evenings. Mornings aren’t always mellow either depending who is playing, at least on NA.
Agreed though, evenings are cutthroat. You gotta be on it.

yea and I am not slow At at fuji with GR2 I am A driver S SR. cut throat is a good word I started 5th in the race was up 2nd by lap 3 because of two guys fighting it out made a great pass on what was second an S/S driver no beating or banging form me or him but then was almost like a switch went off in is head and said no way are you staying in front of me and tapped me under braking in the slow chicane before going up the hill forcing me wide then I had the outside line in the last turn before you head down the front straight and he just pushed me wide into the banked area killing my momentum then the savages were on me from that point....

Edit in GR3...

There’s a big “crew” I would say on the NA server who run 30-38k or so that ALL drive that way ALL the time.
It’s JUST like you said. Midpack is a rugby scrum.
I can generally survive though anymore unless my temper kicks in. I try very very hard to control the track if I end up midpack and gain a spot. My whole career it’s been stay clean, only pass when you definitely clearly have it...Also be hard to pass-hold position CLEANLY and fair but tough. I won’t disrupt a persons run, but I’m not just giving them a spot I fought hard to get.
Also my other philosophy about the line-the line leaves a bit of margin for error. So for me also-NEVER beat yourself. Run your race let the chips fall.
It’s just as you say. It’s why I always harp about the line and tcs etc. If you run the line well you’ll always be just that foot inside them and if you get good exits usually they can’t keep up because they’ll make mistakes.
Once you get above 40k. Imo the players tend to be fast and clean at 99 most times.
In those something has to happen first before tempers flare from my experience.
That crew though, they are annoying. They race that way mid pack every race.

I think there's a few of us who have a nemesis, but they aren't always the dirty kind. I have 1 who is definitely a dirty driver and I will ruin his race given the chance as his mode of operations is to give you 1 or 2 corners to get out of the way and then he pushes you off. Fails to understand slipstream advantage at all. He can 🤬 off as he has ruined more than 20 of my races when I try to be clean and properly race.

I have 2 others that are a good kind of nemesis. I enjoy racing them, always solid and clean, but for whatever reason I simply cant beat them. Lost to them in every race I can think of, and for all manner of reasons. But it can be close. One day I'm gonna win:cheers:

On the other hand I've beaten the dirty guy heaps. So I've got that going for me.:D

Been running some semi fun race A battles tonight in the Americas. Been matched with a nasty argentinian all the races so far. Watched him take out a few the first race, he pitted me in the second when I thought I had him made, and in the third i saw it coming dodged and watched him sail off for a reset. SR is taking a beating, but the race is short and fun.

Edit: I have finally dropped SR low enough and it is late enough at night that they are gone. With the low SR booster a CRB is worth a full 2 SR!

How do you set up an account in a different region? I tried & for some reason when I log in under the US or EU profile GT Sport doesn't show up in the game list. My GT sport is a digital edition, PS5 & no vpn.

I used a second email address and that was it. Left my original as the 'owner' or main account on the playstation. My GT Sport is on disc so that might have a little to do with it. You could check whether every account on the PS has access to all games. Might just have to go into the games folder and find it. I know on my alt account i do have access to the digital games i have, but i have to click on them in the library where it will take a minute for it to 'install' the game.

Other than that, I dont know. Bit of a luddite, and on a PS4 pro. Might have others on here with a PS5 who could help.

End result on the night, 8 races, 3 wins, 7 poles and SR dropped from 99 to 41. 2 races had solid close racing, 2 were solo rabbit runs and 4 had me getting run off and given a penalty by tertre rouge.

Kept it interesting though. Especially as the cleanest racer I faced all night was a C/B driver. I'm suspecting a reset for that one.

Thank you. I found it in the library. Ghosts of Tsushima came straight up, I haven't downloaded any of my other games onto the PS5 yet.

PS4 user so just guesses here, but
1) Is your main account activated as primary
2) Have you checked the library
3) There was a 3rd idea but it's gone anyway GL, I had no probs on PS4 just set the account up and everything is on the main screen where it should be.

Fine I try to help and he's already done it :banghead:
No, good your sorted.

Got it. It was in the library. I got confused as on the PS4 all games showed up across all users (local accounts)

You know how you can just cruise around at the back of a C race to get a boost in SR points?
Some people have mentioned pulling into the pits after the first lap and just staying there for the whole race to get the clean race bonus.
Even though you can get a CRB for staying in the pits, would you only get the maximum SR points if you actually complete all the laps, passing through each of the sectors?
Or do you get the max SR points anyways if you're awarded a CRB?

You would be better racing anyway as you can just be sensible and take any really slow guys making your DR drop as small as possible.

I have always worked on the assumption that you have to drive all the individual sectors to trigger the green SR up to get the maximum SR points in the race...in the FIA races you get SR points in qualy too and in races where I do more qualy laps I have more SR points than the rest of the field.
