I didn't realise you can't cut the pit 'straight' in the race like you can in practice.
Does cutting the pit actually save that much time though? From the testing I've done, you don't really gain much if anything at all?

I didn't know you could cut it in the first place.
You can't save fuel with it by short shifting like before :dunce:

I know.

Was thinking of risking a non-stop race but I don't think it's possible.
 
I didn't either until I was watching somebody else's replay and saw them doing it. Like you said Banckzy I don' think it does make much difference. But every hundredth counts I guess

look alike another GR.4 pass race, doing 1 hour trying with 4WD I can't get thing right. Only get 1:39 and that with Viper not with 4WD (only 2 lap to get that lol), with 4WD around 1:40 :crazy:

Well I still use TCS 2 to avoid unnecessary spin with Dualshock :/

Just get confused with the top 10 video that the track limit is much tighter than before. Get penalty whenever all 4 wheels go outside the white line. :ouch: Unable to match my PB (1:38:279 today) on Atenza though it dominates the top table right now. :sick: Next week will sign with Audi to get a free TT for Gr4 race.:D
 
Ok, had a second bite at Race C. Much as I like the M4, it felt funny compared to the last couple of races I've run with it. Tried the Viper and knocked 3 secs off my qualifying time. Mixed grid of mostly DR/A and B with a couple of Cs and few Ds.

I qualified P10. My M4 time would have had me in last place. I've been finding myself in situations where I'm faster than the cars in front, but just can't figure out how to pass cleanly, so I back off to avoid collisions, and then don't have the drive to pass on the straits. I had one guy who kept using me as a braking point, then after 3 laps got past me, only to suddenly brake at every corner much earlier then he was when behind me.

I got 2 more laps out of the Viper before needing to pit than the M4. Was up to 4th but the knockers kept coming, and a couple of the people behind me where obviously faster, so I gave them room to get by on corners rather than shutting the door on them. Finished P8. No change to my SR from last race, but at least still hanging on to SR/S after dropping to A from the Race A fiasco. :rolleyes:
 
Stop using the Atenza! It’s my favourite Gr4 car and I don’t want it to get another nerf!

May have to enter race c later but get the fear more and more with the current penalty system that my SR is going to take a dive and puts me off entering!

As law goes, the more you say not to use something, the more you use it.
 
The crazy megane drivers are back on race C guess this is due to the 1.16 update? They where driving like they just had 15 espressos injected intravenously, flashing their lights and being aggressive as hell, they beat me to the line but it was either let them pass or get rammed off. Bagged 5th at the end and gained some S/R they all had red letters at the finish!
 
I hate this, the last two races I've been hit from behind - and then got a penalty for it while they get away with it.
People seriously need to learn to drive cleanly and it's only gonna happen if PD penalise the car that hits from behind.
Goodness me the second one wasn't even a megane driver!

Baffling as to why a driver behind is the innocent party! Yes braking checking can happen but it’s much easier to avoid than someone punting you and a lot less common. The worst bit of it is how inconsistent it is!

This is what’s putting me off sport mode, don’t want to lose my DR from a bad race. I’m okay ish at Interlagos, and really enjoy racing but realistically we aren’t going to see an improvement to the SR system till the end of the month!
 
Guys? What is the more used car between the top 10 racers for today´s race on Manufacturers Series (Brands Hatch)????
 
Note to self - beware of S/S drivers who start on the front row. Some of them are very special snowflakes who see red mist if you overtake them. Thankfully I didn't lose my A/S rating, even after two races where I finished dead last due to a very entitled diva who used every dirty trick in the book. :rolleyes:

Edit: Reading it back that came across as unfairly harsh on S/S drivers in general. I've raced with a few and most of them were respectful and clean.

Well I did post a warning about this in this very thread earlier. One guy in particular got me to drop to SR A pretty much all by himself, I did get hit by others too but only after he caused me and also himself, to get multiple penalties with his aggressive driving.

The penalty system sees things that are not there too, how can I get a 10 second penalty for a minor bump on a car going way slower than I expect it too and yet others can bang into me to pass and at worse get the same penalty I get.

i had no idea you could do that .. i always stick a wheel on the green stuff on the inside which is good for maybe 2 hundredths. i guess cutting like that is worth an extra half a tenth. i need a whole second though lol.
 
I was having good fun today middling in the pack during the few Race Cs that I managed to get in today. Not played the game much since launch but been playing a lot more recently and certainly enjoying Sport, even getting better at spotting the dirty racers and brake checkers. Had a efw clean racing through the pack with some guys in very different cars to the M4 I was driving, could see the differences and strengths/weaknesses between the various cars across the length of a lap. Good fun in Gr.4 I think.
 
GR.B is fun, the people online not so much. Stop trying to win the race in T1, so frustrating. I managed a clean race yet most of the races start with a penalty in T1, 5 sec is enough for a red rating at the end... Perhaps it's time to leave DR.A again.
 
Started on pole 5 times today in Group B. 4 times I got rammed off the road on turn 1.

Same earlier for me but in Race C, got hit by 2nd into the first corner, then 3rd hit me later in the lap, then 4th hit me, plus someone else all with ridiculous moves and by then I had a tons of penalties and had to drop to last serving them, eventually I got back to 3rd but only after some right clowns were blocking me and just driving like total idiots. It took until lap 9 before I set a lap near the pace I could run normally when I wasn't being pushed about, dive bombed or plain held up, so frustrating.
 
Is there a schedule of some sort for the daily races, or is just random on the day? I am looking forward to the Nordschleife again as i find it easier to win there than anywhere else for some reason (probably because i spend so much time driving it) . :D

Random'ish. They like certain combos more than others though and the full Nurb or 24H seems to happen at the weekend a lot. Then again before today there had never been a Gr.B race so they do have an unexpected event every now and then too

just quit a race for the first time, bloody GT penalty system felt it was gonna have a bad day and blame me.

After some great PENALTY FREE mid pack FIA races today, i tried my hand at the daily Race C, put in a semi respectable quali time and started 6th.

first lap alls going well, following the cars ahead closely, alredy a 2second gap between me and the car behind.

Ferarri in front has a bad exit from a corner and goes off line, I go to the outside as we come up the the left hander before the start finish straight, Mr Fez moves infront of my path as he is well entitled too and I see him coming. I brake early anticipating his braking point unfortunately theres a slight speed difference and admittedly I nudged him, he didnt lose control, he still got the apex and had a good exit.

BOOM 10 SECONDS!

ahh well okay mildly annoying but I can make a recovery drive, I did hit him I suppose.

I serve up the hill going at 75% throttle, off line and by the time I'm at the first corner its gone, I'm in 12th now and just behind a pack of 4.
going down the straight from the senna S and into the quirky left handy, it gets a bit messy in front and there's some contact in front, I see my chance and keep it tight so I'm on the outside line for the long right, an obviously distracted driver door bangs me.

BOOM 5 SECONDS!

grrrr. okay, it was innocent, whatever.

serve it immediately and as I get up to speed I'm following another megane, who seemingly is struggling with understeer, he's slow. as he struggles on the exit of a corner I see a nice mazda sized hole so put my car into it, as we are going towards the left hander before the hill he decides I've done something wrong or he wants my spot on the track so rams me a good few times, not just an innocent door bang.

BOOM 10 SECONDS!

I didn't serve that one, I was quite simply disgusted and quit.

2 Laps, 25 seconds for trying to drive as cleanly and quickly as possible. Anyone who knows me or has raced against me knows I'm a very fair driver, I wait at incidents and won't put a fight up if it's not worth it. WHAT DID I DO WRONG PD?

You were in the Veyron, out accelerated me from the corner, slammed into my side as you went past (even though you had more than half the track width as I was out on the left hand side) and I got a penalty.

What you experienced tonight - it's called 'KARMA' :sly:
 
Race C qt of 1.38.337 to in the Viper. Is it good enough ? Should I risk it ? Not sure based on the earlier stories !!!

Why would I ram you if I'm out accelerating you? squeeze you a bit for sure because it's hard to get through that chicane cleanly off line but I wouldn't ram you, what gain would we get from that? was I lagging at all?

FWIW I can't remember that incident so tar me with the idiot brush if you like...
