Fall to SR.C cause snappy boy on Kart races, now in SR.B doing 3 races on SR.B in Nords surprisingly MUCH safer and fun than SR.S nords. Make me wonder where did SR.S wrong?
 
Iam pretty good at this circuit but how the hell people can drive 7:03 or faster??

Won 3 today so fast quali isnt a win for sure but still....... Iam arround 7:10.....

DR/A will simply smile at you patiently, wait for you to make a mistake and cruise on by with a little wave.

This is my default method of overtaking. That and allowing two battling cars ahead of me to take each other out via contact and penalties.

That's how I can compete with DR/S drivers with only high DR/A pace :)

Practice, tons of practice. Far more than what I'm willing to do. The first half I do okay but after that...
 
Enabled Counter Steering Assist, did 2 races on Nordschleife, enjoyed the slight tension relief and a few saves by the system. From my 4th place i could see 3+2 go off as the lost the rear.. Still a nice race, 4 places within a few seconds tight close racing.. until the track got the 2 cars..

EDIT: Just checked the replay.. the other cars did not have TCS nor CSA..

So true. I can see where I'm losing a tenth here and there, and sometimes a whole second, but 30? I typically run ABS default and a little TCS. I do stay on the track- I'll run the curbs, but I'm not making detailed notes on the rack limits. I guess that makes me a filthy casual? :lol:

TCS will be killing you around the Nord in Gr4 imo.

I won't race there in sport anyway. Just ran 3 laps of qually and got a 7.12.xxx with heaps of time to be made up. That was with an off aswell. You have to know where to attack and where to carry speed.

Try no TCS.
 
Tried a gr2 car (NSX) for the first time yesterday, I gotta say the cockpit view for that car is pretty much perfect! Wish they could all be like that.
 
I love that kart race, it's intense! Usually I do a few races in a row but had to take a break after 1!

I think I started 18 and finished 4th, it was epic. Usually I only run ABS but karts are such a handful that I turned on CSA. Also, I got a 5 second penalty and it sucked because for the karts, it blocks your view further up the road! But maybe it actually helped because it made me focus on my lines and turn ins instead of being distracted by the other drivers up the road:lol:

Overall I found the racing much cleaner than usual. It's just much easier to overtake so people aren't forced to ram each other to get by. PD should take note.
 
Today was not really my day, got a bunch of pole positions and finally earned the trophy but the races were terrible most of the time, I always managed to screw something up and loose a bunch of positions :banghead: Only won one race :dunce:
At least I had some fun battles with @RaceFace85 :gtpflag:

First ever win in Nords, yes as far as you know I hate this track so much not cause the nature but cause the other player. And it happen on this race, 1-2 just stupidly hit each other not trying find best area to pass, and me just avoid them so much not to get some penalty. Ah I still rank up from SR. B to upper at this moment, almost get A but get caught in big pile up then lose 20 SR :lol:

I think something is very wrong with the SR algorithm. How can I gain TWO SR points for a clean 7-minute race at Nordschleife, and then lose dozens for a couple of shunts in the next race? I'm supposing this may be because the race is one lap long, and the algorithm expects you not to be getting involved in multiple incidents per lap.

Because SR pretty much sucks. After 500 odd races I find it's no longer worth the thought or effort. I will try to be clean but I'm not going to stress about it. If I completely screw up my race I will leave, who cares. Being in a higher SR bracket doesn't guarantee cleaner races anyway.

On another note, managed to win a kart race which was pretty fun. Got off to a poor start and went from 2nd to 4th, then to 5th by the end of the first lap. Managed to fight my way back to 2nd and within 4 seconds of 1st. He went into the sand at the first corner and the race was mine. I wouldn't mind some more kart races every now and then.
 
Kart racing is really fun! The penalty system tries it's best to hamper the fun but karts are so small and unpredictable that there is plenty of room to race and even if people get penalties here and there, the racing is still intense until the very end because anything can and probably will happen.
In 4 races I've had 3 wins and a third and every race felt very different. I got a net gain of about 40 DR and had some great racing along the way.

And I have the sixth fastest lap time in the world.

Everyone can look up my kudosprime statistics to see that I am not an unfair driver or rammer etc. Mistakes happen but this drop happened in only two races. Pretty frustrating experience and now I have to work my way back up.

This is hard but very familar to me.
You can get it to your old ranking in a few weeks.

Just one more example that the penalty system needs no be fixed!
 
Very surprised how well I did in the Karting races (Finished Qualifying on 4th Global with 0:47:490). I'm usually not much a fan of Karting and I can't even control them that well, but today was pretty good. Did 7 Races and won 4 out of them. Isn't it kind of weird that your kart starts better if you have traction control turned on? (Someone told me to do that since I always lost like 3 - 4 places at the start while others can just blast away. Tried it and it really worked).
 
Nordschleife turned dirty. I dropped to SR.A in the last race, someone tried to overtake before the start while I'm following traffic as close as possible, of course he gives me a 5 sec penalty with his ill attempt. Then at the end a third car tries to overtake me and someone else at the same time, knocks the middle car into me, I get 10 sec... 15 sec over the line. It only takes 1 dirty driver to ruin a race.

Let's see how Nord in SR.A is. Down to 74.

And it's just very boring in SR.A, as in finish 12 sec behind an alien and 5 sec in front of third. Thanks PD, your penalty system and matchmaking have me turned away from my favorite track. GoW incoming.

Oh and for some reason I got 2 daily workout cars today, odd.

Picked up 2 more wins and a few poles in the S-FR race today. Missed the top 10 leader board by a tenth though. A couple of the races were very intense but all clean driving. Pretty fun little car.
 
I did the kart thing just now. It was a lot of fun, would have been more fun if people knew where their kart was in relation to other people. I have to quit trying to convince myself that I care about my DR/SR.
