1:40.5 sounds like a perfect lap with TT, I believe cannot be feasible going under. an High 1:39 sounds amazing to me

Nope. I had a 1:40.6 with an Opt. of 1:40.2 in the TT. I use a DS4 and am no Alien.
I saw a pole time of 1:39 from someone racing an Atenza and a very high 1:38 with someone with an M4.

Wow. Are we saying that wheelers are slower than DS4 users?

No. He's simply saying that some DS4 users can beat wheel users. There are some stupidly quick DS4 users out there.

no problem with DS4 users at all, I was only wondering that controller players can run faster than wheel ones. If DS4 works better than wheels, we have wasted our money :)

Surely you buy a wheel because you prefer the experience and realism, as opposed to an advantage? I think PD has done a perfect job if neither wheel users nor controller users gain an advantage just from their hardware.
 
Won a race on Yamagiwa last night with a GT-R Gr4, I started in 2nd place and the first place was a TT Cup driver, I was wnodering how on earth he got a 1:41 qualifying time with the way he was driving, he was braking WAY too early on the downhill S before the final hairpin (almost 2 car lengths before the double cones), at first I thought he was brake checking me causing me to ram him, second lap I noticed he did it again and third lap I decided to wait for him to do it and swung right around him and got the win, then he called me dirty after the race...

Sounds like he was feeling the pressure of being in 1st... braking too early to make sure he stayed on the track.

This all stems to the debate of controller vs. wheel, a debate which has raged on for years. I think it doesn't matter, I'm just as fast on both, but the wheel definitely gives more realism, more feel and way more consistency than the controller.
 
The cars handles and brakes more consistently with the wheel set up, however the controller is more convenient for me as setting up the wheel and pedals is a task , then putting it away again before the misses complains.

sure I did to have a better experience while playing. My post was just to be sure that is not the opposite, in the sense that who uses DS4 can have in some way some advantages. Let me say, if DS4 user is always 1 sec faster than wheel one can be an issue, but I think GT sport is not the case at all.

Dirty? wow. If you do not touch him there is no pain! If he brakes too early just have a breaking overtake ;). Once more, if you do not touch him, there is no dirt at all.

I'm certain a wheel is better than the DS4. I am equally certain a good DS4 user can beat a less capable wheel user.
 
It's interesting that the EU region Gr. 4 top list is always infested with the M4, while in the Asia region it's not even in the list (and not so often in the America region). The car with the fastest lap time overall for Gr. 4 isn't even in the EU top 10 list at all.

Personally I hate the M4, maybe most of it is due to my inability to handle RWD cars, but accelerating out of the curve I spin less with the 458 Italia GT3 than this piece of junk :-/

And the TT Cup I simply refuse to drive, even tho the FF drivetrain would eliminate my spin out problems, but I won't drive with something that sounds worse than any lawnmower (and usually I am not that much of a sound fetishist).

Out of curiosity, what cars feature in those regions? This almost categorically proves that the BoP works but people go with whatever somebody chose first to set a fast time on the leaderboard, leading to a domino effect
 
Sometimes this effing game does my head in. Willow Springs, in 5th place, 12 seconds behind the leader, in with a chance of winning given the amount of errors drivers make on this track. had an accident going in to the pits on lap 6, clipped a mound. Game replaced me back on the track a lap down 1m41s behind and being lapped. What a chuffing waste of time, especially when you haven’t got much spare time to play the game FFS.

Asia has only TT Cups and 86s in the list with the TT Cup holding the top time, in America ORMA_Snow did the best overall time of all regions in the 86. And the 86 isn't to be seen in the EU region at all. Neither yesterday on Yamagiwa nor today on Big Willow. Also did multiple races yesterday and didn't see a single driver using the 86, the races were almost exclusively M4 and TT Cup (and stupid me as RWD and Gr. 4 beginner ALSO using the M4 of course and spinning out in all but one race...).

...what the M4 has going for it though is that it has its power over a HUGE RPM range (flat line between 5500 and 7500 RPM IIRC), basically you can shift wherever you are are in the higher RPM range and you'll always be in the optimum range, so you could short-shift the hell out of it without losing any time at all.

This is genuinely interesting - I think it would be worth collating a thread of the leaderboard cars across all regions every day. If nothing else, it would potentially open people's eyes as to which cars can be competitive. I wouldn't have even thought of using the 86 - as you say, it never features on the leaderboard at all in EU. I will now make a point of testing it to see the art of the possible. I haven't seen the Gr4 Aston feature heavily recently, yet I'm starting to find it just as capable as the M4 around most tracks

It's a shame there isn't an overall top list. Also I wouldn't mind it to be top 100 instead of top 10. Don't see why they can't do this, even if we still can't race against the guys from the other regions.
Now you have to resort to three accounts to see all top times :-/
btw my connection is not even that bad when connecting to the America region, I get the yellow 3 bars, not worse than many other players in the region have.

I do have a US account so I may have a peep, even run some races! Completely agree, if it was too 100 it would be far more useful. I'm sitting just outside top 10, but would love to know how far - top 20,30,40??? It'd be so easy for PD to implement, Pcars tracks hundreds of thousands I'm sure.
 
Went to my secondary account to improve the DR a bit more and managed to beat my European time by 0.016sec xD

Very stable and good out of slow corners. Not the best in top end. I started driving it for a championship and just got used to it. It's a pretty balanced car. Not the fastest, but not the slowest either.

tbh I have a few doubts about their programming skills. This glitch that the warm up lap suddenly counts as first lap when you do something at the pit entry, then taking forever to fix this (this seriously can't be more than one or two lines of code, the game just needs to correctly count in which lap the car is in ffs!), the grip bug, the strange Lancer no ABS behavior, the awkward way to look for liveries older than one day (which didn't even work before), hardly any wheel options (not even one to make the throttle input linear for the wheel!).... these are all things an average programmer could fix or design in a much better way in a day or two.

I might do this to some extent. There's no hard in displaying a wider array of information, everyone loved information. :cheers:
 
Really need to get myself back to SR S because races in B have become a **** fest recently. It's hard to keep cool when people show no respect whatsoever when trying to pass and also can't handle being overtaken.

So TRL_Spurgy777 now posted the EU top time also in the 86 :)
I am also almost at the top of my friends list in the 86.
...and the 86 is waaaaaay more fun to drive than the M4 on Big Willow!
