If they do a one make race with a Gr car it should be one that is normally uncompetitive, either totally or at that particular track. It makes zero sense when they then pick a competitive (so overused) car for a one make race.
Also Megane + Grid Start + No first chicane = Possible carnage even greater than usual at this track.

I really liked these gr.4 one makes they’ve been making lately but this one may be too much (although, standing start + no hard braking on first chicane might actually make it less of a nightmare)
Gr.2 on Big Willow looks interesting, I should be decent at that track and I badly need dr points after the reset

It sounds like he had the lower amount of DR points. Since you lost to him, you ultimately lost DR points regardless of penalties. He finished with a blue S because there was enough time in the race to earn those deducted SR points back. Since you were the higher ranked driver your SR penalties can be more severe in points. If you have a couple incidents in the opening laps but the majority of the race is spent clean, you can still finish with a blue SR. SR is very easy to earn, from a new account you can be max S in about 5 B races.

Well today's races are definetly going to be a challenge given my weak DR at the moment but as Inspector Closeau once said
I accept the challenge, I will ultimately fail where others have succeeded but I can't make myself any worse in game than I am
at the moment.
The Megane is definetly a random one make race but I like that car a lot and have a feeling and with it being Monza hopefully

DR C, SR C because of a couple incidents in previous daily races. Started second. Either way, I'm still stoked that I grabbed the win in this red baguette.

Got my Gr4 Megane livery sorted!

13th to 2nd by the time I got Parabolica on the first lap!
By the way it's a standing grid start, and Monza with no Chicane. I never thought I'd race a Megane, so I immediately did another race and won again! I think all the fast guys are going race B so the good luck if you're going to try it.

I'm no expert, the only other time I've done a grid start was the other day when they had a one make daily C (86GT? can't remember). The 1st race I wasn't expecting a grid start, so revved it (but not on the limiter) and floored it once I got going (was OK start). 2nd race I had TC on 1, but then switched it off after grabbing 2nd (using manual gears) - better start.Well done! Livery & result both

That's all the motivation I need for the race, standing start (good at those), Monza no chicane in a car I like and have some favourite liveries
on, improvements will happen tonight I feel!
Love the livery as well, so appropriate for Monza!

My advise for the Gr. 2 race is, don't give up!
Started 5th. Made it thru first half of the lap. Any early brake into the first left hander. I tapped the RC F off track. Took my penalty and pressed on.
I got side bumped off at the same corner next lap. Down in 11th, reeled off fast laps. I see people downshifting and using brakes at the first right hand turn and final turn. All I do is modulate the throttle at both those turns(6th gear at the final turn). Gain so much exit speed.
Got up to 6th and chipped away fast laps. Last lap, I'm gaining on 5th. 2nd place has an off. Up ahead, 3rd place bumps 2nd on the final turn. 2nd goes wide. Meanwhile, I inherit 5th and 4th place runs wide at the corner exit. At pit entrance, I have huge approach speed, up the inside and almost grab 2nd

13th entering the chicane was 5th by the time I got to Lesmo 1, and 2nd by the time I got to Parabolica (all on the 1st lap!)
This was a mainly DR-B / SR-S race, with me and maybe one other DR-A. Definitely fewer SR-S afterwards!
