I, like you, am stuck. I have Countersteer at weak, TCS at 1, I also use a controller. Have found that I have much more control and speed around corners once I got used to this setting. When I get a wheel/pedals I may take the TCS down to 0, as I'll have a little more control of the throttle (At least I think I will) as compared to the stick on the controller.

im glad I’m not the only one facing this struggle.

Cheers BlackReign I had tried all the above except the gear tip, that's made all the difference, thanks a million. 👍
Had a few top threes earlier now am up to B/A its getting a bit harder, I was struggling to finish in the top half. Hopefully this will help in the race already shaved 2 10ths of my old qualifying time.
Edit: Didn't win the race, but I am more than happy with a 3rd place. :gtpflag:

No prob. Glad it helped. Happy racing.

Not much chance for top10 in this kind of race.

If you had "not much chance" I definitely had no chance.

I'm a highest I've ever been Dr B at 27000 ish and somehow...after trying several different cars on that race ended up with a 2:04,00.....at the time was 106th best European time.
I too ended up with about 8 or 9 A+ drivers, 8 or 9 A's and 3 B's....I think mine were not quite at your opponent level being they were only the 11th, 13th, and 20th top times in Europe at the time!

My quali time put me in 9th on the grid and I crumbled miserably and finished 17th.

The definition of punching above one's weight.

Yesterday, I had won race A at Suzuka East. Today, I had won a race at Suzuka Circuit. It is one of the few world circuits I feel comfortable driving in this mode.

I'm always surprised at how much ground I gain through the esses. I see other people wrestling with the back and forth weight distribution and feathering the brake at different points so you can see that it's real struggle for some people.

Not using the brakes also has the funny benefit of baiting people behind you to run harder on the throttle than they should, especially if they're zoning in on your bumper and not paying attention to their line. I constantly see people flying off of the track behind me, I presume they think that I'm going faster than I am so when they speed up as I coast they can't hold traction to stay inside and they blow their entire line.

Bought the TOM's Lexus for the Gr2 at Monza today. I find it much easier to drive than the Raybrig Honda that is oversteering like crazy.
How turn 1 will turn out is another question :-)

Update: Turn 1 was completely clean! I was starting as 6 and the whole first 6-8 cars came trough clean. Amazing! I got bumped later so I ended up 10th after some of my own mistakes aswell.

Not content with my blunder at Monza, I tried again. That was a mistake on so many levels . The only bright spot was seeing a familiar name sitting on P2 (wavies to @Baliwa ). I qualified P13 with the GTR. Should have stuck to the NSX :odd:.

I started off ok, aside from the usual orange SR at T1 and gained a few places. I got shunted off and after than everything went down hill. I had a hard time during the race getting the thing to turn, even at a crawl, so I ended in the sand a few times. The GTR turned out to be just as much a fuel pig as the NSX! 4 laps and I had to pit. The tank didn't hold 6 laps worth or fuel, and even short shifting I fell a lap short. Yeh, last place .. again :banghead:. The back end of the field was really rough.

SR down, DR down. All in all a pretty miserable result. Another day in DR/C :indiff:.

When I meet you I dunno what happen I feeling sleepy, maybe You notice I fall to far back lol

after meet you I meet @leaves_2B on track and hell almost get caught in carnage. Thankfully I use GTR on that moment so I can escape.

I have yet to find a Honda that I like.

Heck, even on the Circuit Experience for Suzuka, they make you race with a Honda..and I hate it.

I have the TOM's Lexus. Nice car, but be careful with the throttle. Spin city.

i find the GTR is a mix between both. Not as oversteery as the honda but more of an turning circle than the Lexus.

I'm currently at work and all links in the calendar redirect me to the main website schedule. Is that the same for you guys?
(I use an old Firefox version when I'm at work, maybe that explain, dunno)

Links are working fine for me (latest version of firefox)

I can see todays events with the player positions beneath, this the page you can't get to?

I always get redirect to main website schedule and I use latest google chrome, that's why I always ask on another thread :dunce:

Mh, interesting. I'll check when I'll be at home this evening on latest chrome. All worked this morning, so that's weird..

Links work fine here, they take you to that exact race so you can see the leaderboard, past, present or future race (of course this one is blank), so all seems fine.

I'm using MS Edge though. ;)
Well, after some tests, it seems that the links work well when i'm connected on gran-turismo website with my EU account.
But when I'm connected with my US account, it always redirect me to the main schedule.
Going to report this in the other thread and see if some guys can find the trick allowing everyone from all over the world to get the links working properly. 👍

Suzuka is always my go-to location for daily races, and a race on the East variant surprisingly didn't disappoint. Although starting in SR B was always going to be a farcical affair come the race, I managed to avoid the slips and slides throughout and only suffered a shunt on lap 5 from someone who thought we were racing the full configuration.

Having qualified only 1.5 seconds off the 10th ranked lap time, here I was thinking that I've got pole nabbed. My smile dropped when I discovered that I was sitting 12th in my Supra among a field of mostly 911s. Then I remembered that the shorter the track, the tighter the qualifying times are going to be. Flashing back to Blue Moon Bay, where one event had pole and last seperated by about 0.8 of a second.

Anyway, my final position was 6th, but I was promoted to 4th due to last-second penalties being dished out to 5th and 3rd. Not bad, but I think I might be able to squeeze another one in before shut-eye.

Update: Managed to squeeze two in now, as I literally went off GTP to play them. Tried the so-called meta, the 911, and ended up having one of the worst races in recent memory. Running dead last due to binning it in the first corner, only scrambling to 9th on lap 8, where I eventually finished. Then I decided to take my F-Type out for a rare Sport Mode outing. This one went better. Despite binning it at Turn 1 again, I finished 5th, and I'm now on the brink of DR B, with my SR having risen to A after miraculously avoiding penalties in all three race attempts.

Sheesh, just had a nerve tingling Monza race. Started 12th in the middle of carnage, T1 pull far left to let tomahawks bump, which they did, half a lineup in gravel, full stop.
Didn't however count on a straggler launching me from behind straight after, me still being as out of racing line as far left as it gets and crawling. 5s plus orange sr.. That's a reward for me playing fair.

Just cruised around for the rest of the race, no risky overtakes, let the barge passers by. Finished 8th by basically passing only those in gravel/ghosted and keeping distance from those ahead. Got brakechecked twice by same guy, he ghosted both times :D
Seems however that just slight letting of throttle starts counting down penalty, which is kinda not ok tbh, all those rammers got blue rating in the end.

Avoided reset by a hair, I won't be testing more luck today:lol:

Suzuka East is a fun but very grueling battle. If you slide up a little on the final corner, you hit the dirt and go right into the wall.

It's so hard to pass. The only passing zone is turn one and the Viper doesn't charge off the final corner well so it's hard to pass into one. There is no room to pass anywhere else on track.

Not qualifying on Monza is fun. My best two results so far

And a couple more races with 10 places up each.

My strategy is to start in fuel map 2, draft for the first lap in map 2 passing all the accidents, then draft in map 2 whenever I get close to the next group and wait for them to take each other out. Once the chaos has settled a bit stick to map 1 and start racing.

DR.B protects from unwanted penalties when someone hits you from behind or does a stupid dive. Unfortunately I ended up back in DR.A the race before last and of course, next race I get punted from behind in Ascari then discarded to the gravel by another car and get 1 sec penalty for that. Welcome back to DR.A. And as I was recovering the dreaded disconnect error.... Hence I'm here instead of racing.

Anyway that was the first penalty of the day from contact after plenty mad Monza races. And thanks to the early disconnect I'm down to 94, still DR.A although the disconnect wiped out the 1500 'bonus' for leveling up. If I get another nonsense penalty next race I'll pit in lap 9 to get back to DR.B. I prefer my races to end without a red dot.

Btw penalties are too easy to get rid of now. Watch out before Ascari, a popular spot to brake early to reduce penalties. Cars ghost there every time then go solid at corner entry.

Edit: Even better

It would have been a clean race if I hadn't missed my braking point in the last lap wondering what was going on. The slight shortcut penalty didn't matter though, a bunch of people pit in lap 4 and had to fuel save towards the end. SR 99 again and further away from DR.B. The higher the bigger the eventual downfall...

FFS disconnected again for the next race.

Next race, 10 sec penalty from a laggy car braking way early for Ascari to serve a bit of his penalty. He unghosts and lag stalls right in front of me with traffic on my tail, double bump front and back. The penalty didn't matter in the end, too easy to serve a penalty at the finish, finished 4th, up 14 positions. It adds a bit of extra pressure driving with 10 sec on the clock! The rest was all squeaky clean, white S at the end. DR.A is dangerous territory.

One more! (should really be sleeping)

Last one, Finished 6th with clean race bonus from 15th. Had a great battle for 6th place. By patiently waiting for the last lap I could save fuel to outlast him. Fun race.

Nurb24 tomorrow, I wonder how that will go without qualifying.

If you live in US or Asia regions , best is to browse the the links using private mode (incognito, inprivate etc). Then you won't be logged in and the server won't try to redirect you to your regional equivalent of the page you are browsing to. For EU folk the links work just fine (even if you're connected to your gran-tursmo.com account) regardless as we've done them using EU URLs.

I had some landmines at ascari too, but it was actually right hander after T1 where people served penalties in my race almost every lap. Can't even see them!
Luckily they ghosted a few times I missed seeing their cars, lost a bunch of time driving like granny at that part.

I almost got away with clean bonus as well, if there wasn't for that pesky no-braker in T1

It took me three laps to get a 1:35.5 for Race A. I'm honestly am a bit scared to race though because the maintenance tomorrow may bring the FIA season and I don't want my SR too low to compete well. Given that the races with the GT86 started only first place in first gear, I know there is a possibility to gain DR, but it is almost a certainty that I'll lose SR.

Was looking forward to trying to get to know the Nurburgring 24h a bit better today, but half way round my first lap I heard a snap and the accelerator went to the floor. Spring has broken on the pedal, so no racing for me today :(

Can't even say if fuel saving in the Hyundai will allow you to get around the 2 laps without pitting.
