I agree though, getting disconnected before the race start should not cost you anything. You didn't start so why register you as DNF and take the DR and SR.
Well I totally disagree. Disconnecting before the race start most of the times would mean you dont like the grid, because there are slower* people faster than you. This is not fair and would cause halve of the field to disconnect before the race. Totally unacceptable when you want full starting fields and also unfair towards the slower drivers who outclassed the faster drivers with a better qualifying time.

*With slower I mean for example a DR B driver being faster than a DR A/A+ driver.

Excellent racing at nurburgring today. Mostly clean...not to many knobs...
Same. Last race before the Daily switch was good. Had a fight with an RSR and Z4. Respectful players.

Now, on to Gr. 4. Parked the 86 and using the RC F. Gotta keep those pesky Megane, Scirocco, TTS and Baerons at.. well,... bay.

Sounds like a solid plan. May see you out there...

Well, Monza sure sucked. I was able to get my SR back up to S, but then two races at Monza dropped it down to a C,:banghead: Some were from my mistakes, under braking mostly, just slightly nudging people enough to mess with there lines, while others, nudged me off track.

The GR.2 race that I did before the Monza races was pretty good though. I went from 13th to 3rd. Managed to pass a guy in the pits too, as I mostly had more fuel than he did, so it took less time for me to top off.

Beware. The Stewards are handing out 11 second penalties just for breathing.
Unbelievable getting 11 seconds for a hair thin brush on the rear bumper of a slower car.

Don't even think of touching a car before, into and out of any chicane. I got 6 seconds for someone hitting me into a slide at the first chicane. Then, one of the 60 Meganes is slow to exit the second hairpin. I left off the gas and accelerating as he caught himself. Just a whisker thin kiss on the bumper and straight away 11 seconds.

You've been warned.

Got my favorite number, started from Pole and the 2nd place Mustang still overshot the first chicane. I got a penalty, fell back to 10th and worked back to 4th at the finish line(thank you Lammborghi driver for giving me a tow beforec pulling over).

The Mustang is the META?? When did it receive a power buff?

I've always found it fast. Also good braking. Not as nimble at the 86, but plenty of grunt. Loved using it when I was the only one on the grid with one.
Very quick thru the final chicane.

.. And this just happened. Payment for the previous race taken from me. ;)

This time, a different 2nd placed Mustang held back and we both made it. However, one of the 50 Huracans caught him. I wound up setting a 1:57.9 on my final lap. Faster than my qualy time by 0.6 seconds. My birthday was last month. :sly:

Edit: Thank you @iFuriousRacer
This was, ironically, the inspiration. Instead of a Ford Falcon that ran the same sponsor.

Two milestones for me today, got my 20th win, thanks to the Fiat 500 races, man just driving smoothly with it on susuka east and Kyoto myabi gives you mostly easy wins, as long as there are no first corner wrecking balls behind you.
Secondly, I finally managed to get the Ferrari Gr4 round Monza in less then 2 minutes, I know it’s not the fastest of lap times and it is certainly not quick enough to keep up with the Bugatti’s but at least I know now that I can be a bit more competitive with my beloved Ferrari in group 4 races! I even have the feeling now that with some more practice I might even get a 1.58.xxx since the time was set after only 5 laps of practicing, considering my previous record was a 2.05 there might be a second te win somewhere. The key is in the chicane, I just really s.ck at chicanes.

All good and well, but what about the poor sods who are waiting for their race and don't choose to disconnect but get dumped by the server?
Loosing DR or SR when you didn't *choose* to leave is unacceptable.

Maaaaaate! Come join us in DR/D, DR/C. You won't be having that problem 👍 <chants> One of us... one of us.....

Irony is that the Mustang's origin lay with the Falcon :yuck:. Aust has come full circle . Fixed Or Repaired Daily?

Yet you still lose the time and have to wait again, why would you do that on purpose. Sitting on 3000 races that concept seems alien to me :)

But I see your point. A high level driver getting put into a D/S room might simply quit since there is no challenge and a win only means 10 points while a crash or getting punted can mean minus 2000 points. Yet is it right to keep people hostage by a faulty matchmaking system?? If you quit on pole not wanting to waste your time, lose 2000 points?

Also if you've had a bad run in with another player, reported him, blocked him, next race start right in front or behind him again, can you blame someone from not wanting to run that race?

To stop people from quitting before the start, fix matchmaking, not ransom their DR....

Besides if you don't like the grid, simply quit or suspend the game during the loading track / waiting for other players phase. If you don't make it into the room you don't lose DR/SR.

I qualified for Race B and was thinking "I broke 2min, I'm doing pretty good!" Yanno, I really should stop looking at the list to see where I stand :odd:.

05RX8 - 326.... me... 651 .

I saw someone post a link to upcoming races a few weeks back... does anyone have the link to hand?

Thanks dude. Got a free evening Saturday so thought I'd devote some time to GTS and try getting back into it :)
Shame that we can't add it to the OP of this thread. And I doubt that @LordDrift will do it as he's not active here since a while now...

Monza Monza Monza! The slayer of SR! The destroyer of hopes and dreams of glorious battle! The pit of.... oh wait, wrong movie... So, I went in with my fluffy bunny slippers and my 651 Asia position got me P6/16 on a grid of my peers. There must be a larger pool of C/S with high SR because I definitely see a trend of better matching when my SR is 99. The gap between P7, P6 and P6 was hundredths of a second.

Race starts and everyone was hell bent on the holeshot to T1. The guy behind me came screaming up beside me, so I backed off a hair and let him have first crack at the chicane. I coasted my way through, wedged between other cars who drove me out of the chicane. I think they must have eased off the penalties for T1. I heard a lot of banging and crashing sounds that would suggest mangled metal and splintered carbon, but I don't think I saw any penalties. I guess for T1, rubbing is racin :dopey:!

From there it was just hanging in and hoping I didn't screw up the chicanes. Again I think they must have eased up the track limit penalties because a couple of times I thought I was going to get one, based on previous races, and none were forthcoming :scared:. Had a guy in a roach of some description come hurtling past me on the outside, I assume from a better exit out of the third chicane. I had the inside for the final corner, he was beside me and slightly in front just before the turn, so I braked lightly so he could go around. He didn't brake at all and went fanging across the sand and slammed into the wall . No other dramas to speak of. I was about a second behind the guy in front when I crossed the line, but they were flashing red. And the finish?

Woot! SR can't go up, DR up some more. With DR past the half way mark between C and B I'm guessing DR will be coming down soon as I will be matched with DR/B and C soon :nervous:.

well it happened. The chaos that was Dragon Trail last night got me demoted to SR-A.

Even though I won 2 out of 5 (maybe 6?) races last night, I still only managed to keep my DR relatively the same but got punted all over the track in a couple races which led to penalty after penalty.

It sure does suck getting penalized for people rear-ending me. Also when people spin out and lose control right in front of me, and I can't avoid tapping them on their way off the track even though I try....still penalized harshly.

It also sucks when somebody with a bad signal is lagging all over the track and gives everyone around them penalties, but doesn't get any themselves.

In one of my races, I got a clean race bonus, but lost a bunch of SR because of people hitting me from all angles. Red "S" at the end. How does that work?

Oh the joys of DR-A. Penalties were never this bad in DR-B. Oh well, I'll probably be visiting DR-B again soon if it keeps up this way.

Either way, I had loads of fun and did get some pretty clean races in the lower SR lobbies, so it was worth it. I guess a few easy wins/podiums are in my future on my way back up to SR-S.

I think I raced with you at Dragon Trail the other night (green Evo?). I watched the replay when I bumped you from behind at the 2nd uphill turn and realized that the other guy undercut your racing line and you had to stop from hitting him, and I just couldn't stop in time. I was the Corvette in the Dale Earnhardt livery. Luckily it was just a tap and you were able to stay on the track. It was a good clean race, I saw you screaming up the Esses and knew that this guy is going to overtake me, might as well let him through now haha
