anything at lemans is a mess because people can not remember it as it's so long, crappie reverse maggorie , the full length yamagawa that is WAY too long and impossible to remember each turn

See, as much as I agree that there are a lack of decent tracks, this part confused me.

You say anything at Le Mans is a mess because people cannot remember it. Do you mean other people? Or do you also not remember it? Because if you mean other people, which it certainly sounds like, then that complaint makes no sense considering you yourself cannot remember Yamagiwa

Got a good 3rd place (good for me) in race B. And a clean race as well. And I like to show my new off 2-in-1 usb stick from ps4 to phone.

Instead we get Group 3 at tsakuba, anything at lemans is a mess because people can not remember it as it's so long.

Speak for yourself. 2 races, 48 hours at la Sarthe. *I* remember it. The tracks are fine, it's the people racing on them that make the race. ;)

Even brands and willow are horrible to race on, off camber, no passing zones, always people sliding off.

Both those tracks have ample opportunities for passing. I aught to know... I've been passed on them often enough !

Well race fans, time for an update on what previously was a crappy two days. NGP. A wasteland of despair for those unfortunate enough to get stuck in the middle. I took the NSX for a spin on 05XR8's recommendation. I didn't think it was quite as fast as the Viper, but I needed to minimise my SR downfall, and it felt like it gave me more options to avoid collisions. As it turned out, I had previous screenshots of grids from the past and my qualifying time was 2s faster with the NSX . Couldn't match that time, I was still 1s off. Despite that I started P3, as always anything in the top 5 surprises me :dopey:.

T1 was as expected, a disaster, but I slowly navigated through, got knocked around a bit, but no penalties or Orange SRs. Relief :nervous:! Maintained P3, but did get passed on the 2nd lap at T1. I just stuck with him and managed to brake and turn with enough control not to make contact. He kept swerving when I came near if I had more speed, but I kept the pressure up. He had a penalty and I didn't. I passed him on the section leading up to the chicane, but he braked late, dove up the inside and pushed me wide . I was expecting a penalty for leaving the track, but none came and I didn't loose much time. I was right on his tail again on the final lap, when I picked up my first penalty, 0.4s I think for taking too much of a bite out of T1. He still had a penalty flashing and I had 4s up on the guy in P5, so I just left the dunce cap flashing. Crossed 0.5s behind P3, but my 1s penalty (they round up) trumped his 6s penalty. P3 for me! :D

SR went up by 7, still not enough to dig me out of B, but it's a start! DR up by nearly 800. Gives me enough to play with to loose positions and continue my visit :dopey:.

I had to try race A and was surprised by the relatively good handling CTR. I mean it still is a massively powerful FF but the suspension tuning was obviously done by a competent person, as opposed to the stock settings.

How????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Do you have a team of people playing you account, swapping in and out as they get tired?

A combination of things. I have a second tv in the living room just for GT Sport and do quick races in between normal day stuff sometimes nearly missing the start, grabbing the controller in the final countdown. I didn't do much qualifying beyond 2 or 3 laps and nowadays I don't spend any time qualifying. Plus I don't nearly get enough sleep and often play until the races change at 3 am.

Yet true, it's a rather shameful amount averaging at over 12 sport races a day. My lowest ever sport race count for a day is 3, my highest a marathon of 32 races. 12 sprint races a day is about 2.4 hours of actual drive time. It's usually sprint races in the early evening while watching tv, then the longer races late at night when everyone else has gone to bed.

My time driven is 862 hours or 3.5 hours a day on average. There were 2 months of regularly racing Bluemoon bay in a N300 KTM XBow to get to level 50 while watching tv for a total of 203 wins to get there.

On the bright side, GTS is saving me so much money. I'm hardly buying other games anymore nor movies. I used to spend $1200 on blu-rays a year and even more on games. GTS is making me rich!

I seem to complain a lot about the penalty system and crappy matchmaking, yet I have to admit that's also what keeps the game 'interesting'. Nearly every race is different and dropping down the SR ladder opens up access to a fresh batch of players all with their own unpredictable driving habits. I know most of the drivers at max SR and if I would always be driving at A/99 it would get stale.

Wow. Thats dedication. :D A second TV is a great idea :sly:, now for a second room to put it in.

Wouldn't say its shameful to do something you like. Then again its not Fortnite gaming addiction either. Also started to do a bit of 'Svenning', copying you starting at the back of the grid.

Sunday Sunday Sunday! (well it is here ;)) Anyone who's done any trout fishing will tell ya... ya gotta match the Hatch! Race C and I was facing it with some trepidation given my SR downward spiral over the last couple of nights from Race C. I tried a few cars including my fav, the RSR, or as I call it, the Blackbird. Not quite happy with that. Tried the 4C, and I just couldn't get T3 right with it. Tried the Beetle, another fav because of the sound track and rally like down shifts. Then the rexy. Settled with the Herbie. Qualified P8. Not spectacular, but in the top half so worth something if I can hold it. A large chunk of the grid was DR/B. There was a DR/E sitting in P3. Ringer :odd:!

The race was pandemonium at T1 and the tight T2. Some how made it through with a few dings but no penalties. We like this 👍! I managed to avoid making contact with anyone, and just hung close and tried to get better drive out of corners. closed gaps but just couldn't make the pass safely, so I didn't. Wish I could say the same for some of the others. I was knocked off the track 3 times. Two times I fought my back to about P10 from P17 or 18. The final time I was loosing my tires on the last couple of laps and having to make adjustments. I had a guy right up my rear who had rear ended me 3 times already, then on the final corner, knocked me into the sand. I finished P12. :scared:

I was expecting things to have gone poorly, given my bottom half finish. I looked up in surprise to see my SR had gone from B to S ! apparently that race was worth 20 SR to me. Only lost about 20 DR as near as I can tell. Result! <does the happy dance> Another day visiting DR/C :D.

I love reading your race reports! Always funny and a nice read

I didn't qualify. Started 19TH behind an RSO1. That player let the whole field go by and hung back. So, I just followed that car around for a few laps as we passed people going off.

I set fuel in n the NSX to 3. Happily trundles around. Then, the silly mess began. People that went off are now hurrying to win the race. Being impatient because us two are cruising. One player was blocking and trying to push me off because I was passing it each time they went off.

By lap 5 cars we pitting. I had 6.5 laps of fuel and the RS01 was making haste. Gapped me by a few seconds. My left side tyres were looking a bit worn, so I pitted on lap 6. Then, I managed Fuel 2&3.

Passed the RS01, watched a GT-R go off up ahead, saw yellow flags at nearly every part of the track, moved up to 8th, because I don't think this particular red dunce cap RSR pitted. It was a mess around turns. I passed it with half throttle, Fuel 3, on the penultimate lap. No dramas to the finish.

"End of line."

Ran from the back a few times at brands in a couple of different cars and did no pitstop and made my way up to 4th in one race. Finished top 10 another 4 o 5 times before I got sick of that an put in a qualifying time and find out the penalty system is pretty screwed up.

Was halfway around t2 and got t boned by some idiot and somehow was given a 5 second penalty then a t3 a car lost control out wide on exit came across the track sideways and smacked my door for another 3 seconds. The final straw was getting brake checked coming out of the final corner with a run on the guy in front and recieving a 10 second penalty. At that stage I decided to finish the race and switch off to watch some world cup. Talk about frustrating

I will never win in a race with my SR at an S. The top guys are just too fast and I simply do not have the pace to keep up. I can't sit at an A because I'll clobber everyone, just like I did on Friday afternoon. I consider myself a fast driver but I'm not at the very top level.

Anyhow, I was a bit cheeky on the Group 3 Brands Hatch race yesterday in my Mercedes AMG GT GT3. I started in 7th place and was 5th before my pit stop. I was chasing a Mazda 6 (or Atenza as GT calls it) and I came out of the pits about 1.5 seconds behind him. I managed to get up to him but I bumped him on the last corner; yet he stayed on the road. Still paid for it though with a 5 second penalty. I did pass the Mazda but there was an R8 coming up fast, and I was getting worried that my penalty would negate all my progress and drop me to 6th. I had 4th into the last corner on the last lap, and the Audi was right behind. So what did I do? I had no choice but to brake check him and it surprisingly worked in my favour - he got a 10 second penalty whilst my penalty increased to 6 seconds. I kept my 4th place.

One thing I learned through yesterday's mayhem: run my own race.

I went downtown from A/S to B/C. Did calming down. Joined NGP where I was set at P2. At the start, I moved overv and let everyone pass. Of course In made up spots fron the carnage.
I just observed cars ahead. I wasn't even putting any pressure on those players. I could see little car control. I'd back off way before. A braking pooh nt and still caught then On corner exit.

Did the BH race and started from the back. Joined the CTR racex at Suzuka from the back. Took my time and made up spots without trying.

My last NGP race had me start on pole.
DgaM05xVQAA6xAT

Took my time and paced myself. Just had fun and no mistakes. Figured I'm racing to watch the replays. Same thing I've done since GT1. Just race to watch the cars later.

There needs to be EXTREMELY HARSH penalties for ANYBODY who gets in the way of a qualifying lap. I got blocked by 2 cars and had to abandon my lap in the Nations Cup. What's worse is that of one the guys who blocked me hit me off the track. I started 15TH, probably MY WORST POSITION ever. I was livid that I had to start soo far back, and it was an absolute **** fight at the start of the race. Cars braking to early, pushing, shoving and penalties.

But I kept my place and that's all I care about.

Funny in one thread you posted you are whining about being blocked and calling for the the offenders to be strung up.

In one of you very next threads you post in you are bragging about doing the exact same thing to another driver but because it was you doing it to someone else it is fine!

Talk about a pot calling a kettle black!

That's qualifying for a Nations Cup race not a Daily Race. Big difference.

I just notice some behavior in this week, back then everybody trying to doing battle in every lap. Now only in first 3 lap or 2 lap but that 2/3 laps is just a survival/ufc tier race, this happen in SR B to SR S and more worse if mixing with DR.D/C. So from this midweek I just have slow start and have run faster after 3rd lap or mid 2 lap, no fun get caught crash or penalty cause other people :ouch:

Still waiting you come B anyway , I meant it

I guess I'm having s break, disconnected at the start of the race and no desire to race the A or B.

Since I got back to max SR (which only took 3 races from SR 41) it's been mostly familiar faces again. Continuing my non qualifying streak I keep finishing 5th to 7th, although lower in one race with one of those rare strong line-ups.
JjPc.jpg

I only managed to get to 14th there, lot of fast people!

Now is SR.S cleaner than SR.B? It is less clumsy and thus less chaotic for sure. However the distribution of purposeful dirty drivers is about the same. I see one or two every race while coming from the back. Which is actually a great statistic, less than 10% dirty drivers, quite an achievement for a online game with random matchmaking! It's just a shame they can cause so much trouble (and mostly get away with it) with the current penalty system.

Penalties are annoying again in A/S. Luckily the few times it happened it was only 1 or 2 sec "you too" penalties for getting hit from behind in traffic. Since the pit entrance is still not fixed on Brand's you lose that easily on normal pit entry.

I only got one of those nasty 10 sec penalties so far. I come around the corner, see trouble brewing, let go of the gas to slow down, then brake as soon as I see the car in front starting to spin out, too late as he slows too much hitting the car in front, and I immediately get nailed from behind, wreck and 10 sec penalty, back to last. Dust off, finish 7th.

DR gains and losses seem mostly based on matchmaking as my finishing position is pretty consistent. Fun racing, next one is up!

I appreciate the sentiment, but realistically that's unlikely to happen. I may be in DR/C but I still think of myself as top 1/3 DR/D. I did peak at a bit over 8k last time in DR/C, but that was more to do with blind luck and the phases of the moon than actual racing ability .

I never thought I would get to A, then one day I visited DR.S (for 18 hours). Keep at it and you'll get there. Hopefully in less races than it took me :)

Decided to race with HUD off. My data showed my final Gr. 3 qualy lap at 1:32.999 at the finish line. When I got loaded to the Warm-up, a 1:33.216 is posted. Dang.

Should be fun with no HUD in the Gr. 4 race. Guess that's another cool feature Bout the NSX dash. Gives correct time.

Dude, I laughed. I just replied to your other post about FIA qualifying penalties where you complain about other players doing this kind of thing.

Pot and Kettle?

DTG is my favorite track. Knew I'd like it when it was introduced. Fast fast track. An Mr car's paradise. 5th gear, T1, no braking, just some lift off throttle and glide.
