OK I jinxed myself... Interlagos I’ve fell all the way down to D/E. Some really insanely dirty totally unecassary moves from people

I started the day in B/B by the way lol.

Trying to get my ratings back up but very difficult to do right now

A lot of dirty drivers today at interlagos. Went from SB A to SB D. I’m done for today.

Hey guys, first post in this thread, and I'm nowhere near as fast as you lot (@zzz_pt - 1:43s??!).

However, just wanted to say that the last few daily races have been incredible - the GR3 at Yamagiwa and the GR4 at Dragon Trail especially. I'm B/B and I've had some really close races with careful, respectful opponents.

When it all comes together, this online racing malarkey is soooo good.

(Disclaimer, PSN is mannjonusa - apologies if I've bumped you haha)

I agree... the only decent races this weekend were Yama on Friday and Dragon yesterday. Interlagos on Saturday killed me. I was 2 seconds off top 10 so thought I'd be guaranteed a decent starting position (was BB with c.19000 DR points) but I got 8th! Whole grid were within 1.5 seconds of each other and it was pure carnage. Every player finished with red SR.

I also find that the weekends are a much worse quality of racing. Weeknight racing is so much cleaner

That is logical of course. Weekend all are free. During the week more serious and elder people drive.

I had a blast yesterday. Also with the Raptor at Asace. Too bad there were some incidents where I was involved. Was blamed after the race by one guy. I told him to watch the replay. Sometimes people dont see things and sometimes it indeed is my fault.

The situation: I drive slow the first corners to get into the pace and not hit the guy in front of me. So step off the gas a little. I notice at my level most people do that and dont find the first gap the first few corners. Sometimes even the whole 1st round people show respect.

With the Raptor race it went little different. Behind me people dont do the same and look for every gap. If somebody is too eager in catching the gap while I am stepping off the gas the first corner (respect!) than of course I will find the gap myself also later in the race. If you show me respect you deserve respect. If you dont show me respect dont expect respect from me.

I am not hitting anyone intentionally dont get me wrong. But sometimes I notice the car behind me is faster and he is driving next to me because of higher corner exit. Coming into the next corner when we are side by side I will step off the gas and let him pass. Showing my respect to him.

I will not be doing this with a driver which did not show respect to me from the beginning. Thus when he is trying to pass me and he is not side by side but a little more behind me there is no reason for me to get off the racing line. The racing line is mine unless you are passing me. If you chose to drive on the right of me close behind me, you should know what the next corner and racing line is and you can feel blocked but all I did was follow the racing line. If you want to pass me choose your moment and corner but dont blame me for driving the correct racingline. That is a part of racing. Knowing the lines and knowing where not to drive close to me on the left or right.

Yesterday on Suzuka same situation but the guy misunderstood me. He was side by side entering the first corner of Suzuka because he was faster on the straight because of exit speed and slipstream. So we were really driving side by side (so not as to what I explained here with the Raptor). Because we were side by side and I knew he was faster I lifted clearly on time way before the braking point to let him pass me. Unluckily he did the same probably and he was still behind me and probably scared by my early liftoff. I hope he understood that I wanted to let him pass me. No incident luckily. Just letting know that sometimes a good gesture may be misunderstood.

Also sometimes I intentionally drive defencive the last round because only than I can prohibit someone to pass me. And I dont mean breaking too early but lifting gas and little less speed in corner to step it up on exit. And also I dont mean changing race lines. Just the proper good race stuff. Although not all may understand this.

I really enjoyed yesterdays Gr.4 race C at Dragon Trail - Seaside. For a bit of variety, I chose the Lambo instead of the M4.
The 4wd provides a lot of confidence to attack the first chicane aggressively without worrying about losing traction (without active TC).
I must say that I was positively surprised how competitive the Huracàn has become with the BOP update. With a strategy to drive 7 laps full attack and refuel with a nearly empty tank and not do a tire change, I secured twice the 2. place behind a driver with a M4 who did no pitstop at all.

Also had a funny moment in Q where I managed to improve my M4 time (1:45.197) with the Lamborghini consecutively to 1:44.889:

I love the Huracan Gr. 4 particuarly on Dragon Trail. Set a good Q time yesterday in it, entered a race and noticed the top 3 were all Sciroccos so, thinking as it is lighter it may have been better on fuel, thought I'd try it for my second go... it was pants! Really regretted not using the Lambo.

Huracan is basically the best choice for Dragons Tail, on lap 5 I pitted and refueled to 5.6 laps, on the last corner before the finish line on lap 10 my fuel warning said I had 0.2 fuel left on map 1 and I finished 3rd. So I think I calculated it perfectly.

Suzuka today... I just can't quite "get" Suzuka though. Very frustrating.

The Maggiore centre I am getting used to though.. hope the 86 is good to drive and more stable than the 2000GT (which was fun, but a bit slippy)

Same, Suzuka is my worst circuit, will be giving it a wide birth!

The Tokyo circuits are much worse for me... Suzuka I'm not bad but seem to lose speed where others don't, I think due to being overly-cautious at the back (don't know the corner names) where there is a big sand trap

yep, today's races on Dragon Trail were fun, quite intense

I see I make an appearance, getting caught up in others' accidents and struggling anyway, happened in every race I did yesterday, wasn't my best day. :boggled::banghead::ouch::O

That sand is lethal, as is the green run off just beyond the curves! Ice would have more friction!

Saw you on the top 10 over the weekend btw (can't remember which race but well done :))

Edit: was it gr. 1 Maggiore? Or Gr. 4 Dragon? I have a feeling it was Race C

sometimes it happens, I was lucky yestreday and didn't get stuck in accidents

It's not fun being behind 3 or 4 cars side by side heading into the bus stop at Dragons Tail, if they wipe out and you keep driving through, there's a chance one of them won't ghost and you'll rear end or T-bone them and either crash, slow down or get penalized. I always hang back if I see that many cars too close together shoving each other like i saw yesterday. Also a car 2 spots ahead of me spun out coming out of the first S turn but didn't ghost and was steering directly at me, I swerved to avoid and it caused me to lose control and go straight into the grass. Scary stuff.

A guy in front of me clipped the exit of the Dragon Trail chicane, I went straight into his boot and he got a speed boost whilst I basically came to a halt :banghead:

Yep, that's what happened to me in one race, only two guys in front but still happens and the guy who bounced of the wall, who I then hit, went on to win, whilst afterwards I could barely keep it on the road for some reason. Until I was in clear space, then I set race leading pace again. :boggled:

Also went real slow in one race because I saw chaos coming, still ended up getting hit by a bouncing car. Just one of those days. :ouch:

Managed a 1:16:367 at Kyoto. I'll try a race there now and see how it goes.

Seems that it worked good for you. Start pole, win race... :D

Got climbed up from 5th to fourth... it seems that the Bugatti is a little bit overpowered? But it's a cool track for this GR.1!

Actually that was my 2nd race. ^^ In the first I got a 10sec penalty (cut too much) and had to lift off at the end. Finished 5th.

Just in case anyone wants/needs to know, pitting at the end of lap 5 seems to be the quickest way in Race C. I've pitted on 6 mostly and you can end up gaining places like this, if the cars who've pitted have traffic on their outlap but otherwise they'll clear you, it can be worth a gamble though.

Not pitting is an option and I've seen some come close to winning doing it but unless you are clearly faster than everyone else you will probably not be able to make it work and with worn tyres and fuel saving too it's probably not worth the hassle to do this.
