Also, we can pretty much replicate this shot with Gr.1 today :sly:

Is that due to the down force and being able to draft it a bit better per chance?

I am thinking of using it in the race myself but still practicing my laps.

Can't seem to break under 5:56's so I think I need to work on my brake balance or think about a different car for qualifying time as keep
throwing the 919 off track.

I think it has better cornering speed (for me). Also it has much more speed on the straights, which might come in handy at the end of the race. I got a 5:43,493 in the LM55, but could've done better. Didn't bother to try, cause the Porsches smoke you at the start.
 
Whoever thought that putting a Gr.1 race in the Nordschleife was a good idea must have been on some serious drugs. A cluster**** of a race

I've run that exact race in Custom Races, professional level and thought it was incredibly fun.

I like to look at Lambo's. But I HATE driving them (at least in the game, never REALLY drove one) and the reason being, I find them to be incredibly BAD in cornering. So the idea of Lambo's being run at Miyabi does not excite me for races later on when I get home.

Yup that's it's exact problem, it does not like corners but beautiful to look at.

Going to leave the game for a bit and try again later, hopefully might get a better qualifying time and figure out a handling setup
that works in the corners.
 
Just did the Nordschleife Gr. 1 race. Aaagh!! Absolute carnage but it was quite fun. The penalty update came right in time for this one lol. Eyeballs currently spinning like a washing machine trying to keep up with the pace of the 919 through all the twisty bits :rolleyes::lol:

Taken from Daily B two days ago. I had a very competitive scrap with J_Nemesis who was defending for his life against me and personally, I thought he/she was far too aggressive defending his line. Pushing me off at the chicane on lap 3 and nearly ending my race. What do you guys think? Was it fair defending or a bit too Kevin Magnussen for your tastes? Personally I think the real victim in all this is the French guy Alexandre behind me who earned himself 15 seconds worth of penalties for running into the back of me fairly lightly. Thankfully the penalty system changed the following day haha

Regardless of his defense, I appreciate your sportsmanship, as you avoided pushing him out even countless occasions occured. And congrats for that overtake.
(I know, that behaviour is just normal for a lot of us, but I didn't find it mainstream in GTS online scene - in my experiences.)

A real driving simulator should respect real life rules ..NO F1 or GR1 on nordschleife ... in "official" races ..

I drove on the limit on the GR1 nordschelife race. I started 9th and took 4 places at the start.

I crashed to the wall and also a spin out costed me a potential podium spot. Oh well at least I got the fastest lap of the race.
 
I managed to get two Nord GR.1 races in without qualifying using the R92CP, 6th and 5th place finish, 'only' a minute behind the 919 and Mazda ugh. AT the end of the race connection with PSN was lost again NP-3740-6 so online save failed and can't enter the next one :(

It's fun zooming by the mazda and 919 on the straight yet this oldie is slow in and out corners and the other semi straights are hard to pass with people driving in the middle. Also little to no chance of a battle in the R92CP, hotlapping nord is fun in this car yet I guess I have to switch to the 919 or Mazda to race someone. I'm either held up on the straight, shoot by them at the end, or fall back in the corners.

I'm either held up on the straight, shoot by them at the end, or fall back in the corners.

From what I can tell, the hybrids have the advantage through the corners and shorter straights, the non-hybrids have the advantage at top speed, so that matches up with what you experienced as well.

Porsche seems to be the weapon of choice around the Ring. Most of the top 10 fastest quali times were set by 919's and the lobbies were predominantly filled with 919's. Saying that I saw a couple of Mazda VGT's do quite well in the two races I competed in, until of course the GT Sport servers decided to go AWOL

Didnt get to qualify, but used a bit off throttle to make up time at both ess bends.

I did a qualifying lap at Nordschleife, and managed to keep it on the track for the whole lap. I was feeling pretty good about my 6:24, then looked at the leaderboard and saw that guys are running 5:30s. :confused: Holy crap! I have no chance. I guess I'll try it anyway, since I've never done a Sport mode race on the track. :nervous:

Update: Holy crap, I got 4th. It just may be that keeping a GR1 car on that track isn't a common skill. :cheers:

Yeh, I had a similar experience on la Sarthe. I have a feeling it was the 89 and not the 92 that I favoured in GT4.

No racing for me last night, stupid internet outage :mad:. No chance to race again till tonight, so I miss my favourite track :grumpy:.
 
Gr3 - Croatia - Dragon something ... Today.

3 perfectly good races.
All 3 clean races, two of them - from 5th to 3rd.
One from 2nd to 1st.

4th - I did get safety rating from B to A , again ....
And then I made 2 stupid mistakes, rookie mistakes - 20 second penalties - 2x 10 seconds.

My qualy time with FT-1 was 1:33.4. First I had few times on 1:34.5 , then 1:34.1 ... and then 1:33.4 , tried to improve twice - 1:33.8

First sector time was 27.450
 
It's crash happy hour again, seems like Nord GR.1 turned into Mario Kart, so many red ratings in a daily C. I could not escape it either, ping ponged around in the back field and only finished 17th this time due to getting bumped off the track with a 10 sec penalty from an early braker right before getting bumped. (In a 919 vs me in a R92CP, I am the early braker normally...) 8 SR down. Someone still managed to drop to SR.A despite the loose penalties. Bumping people off the road is free.

I doubt the 7:30 race will be any better, can't stop anyway.

That oldie Toyota was my Favorite in GT5 yet it's not in GTS yet. Is that the '89? I'm racing as much as I can now before psn craps out again. Missed Sarthe yesterday :(

And disconnected from network in lap 2. It might be time to start looking for a new game if this continues. Plus I got brake checked right at the start, so probably more SR lost with the disconnect. There wasn't even any corner yet and brake checked ugh. Starting 18th you're still on the straight lol.

I didn't hit you on purpose ... we were in that chicane after that first long turn. You just did stop in the middle of the road, you had way more space with acceleration, you could pass, and I thought you will pass .. but for some reason you stopped in the middle of the road and I hit you from behind.
Again ... Sorry, it really wasn't on purpose ...
