It is where the game believes you should be among that specific grid of racers I think...?
The numbers are giver by DR rating, if you have the highest amount of DR points, you will be 1. mostly. After a bad race of losing SR, you will be knocked down into a lower DR/SR room and that’s where the number start jumping around. But almost everytime in FIA the numbers are given by DR 1 being the highest.

I'm a little confused. I'm still trying to work out if Race C was supposed to be a race, or a derby. I qualified with the RSR, and ended up on the grid P5/17 with predominantly DR/B and C. There were only 2 of us Ds. I was pretty happy with that.

The race starts and I take an inside line for T1 for protection. Exiting I was smashed by 3 different cars and thus my penalty odyssey started. The track limits are way harsh and arias where you loose time if you go a bit wide you get another penalty. Added to that I just could not seem to get the usually nimble Porsche to turn in like it usually does. I ended up with penalties on my penalties! When they reached 27s I knew I was going to finish very low. I pulled over and took a nap while they count down then started off. Between that and getting barged off the track multiple times I was in last place, and there I finished. I should have gone with the Viper :irked:.

DR dropped about a k, SR went from 99 to 87. All in all it was complete misery. :(

Race C today was fun imo. I decided to take the NSX for a run , but it wasn't all that competitive at Interlagos as i thought and the bloody tyre wear really dropped my pace at around lap 4-6.

If there was a race today that was a total carnage , that would be Race B. Qualified 7th only to be pushed into 14th at the second corner. Then i was defending from an idiot who couldn't accept the fact that i was faster than him and he hit me on the rear of my car , thus getting a 5 second penalty , for no reason and ruining my relatively clean race.

Not sure if anyone else is getting these I am B/S rated and at Inter Lagos if I slightly tap the bumper of an opponent even though it has no effect except maybe give them a little extra speed down the straight I get a 10 second penalty and my race is rendered pointless leaving me to stop and let the penalty count down, or just leave at a cost of 20 SR points.
Is this the new improved penalty system?
Race ruined on Lap 1 and still no way of leaving a race without a SR lose, mean while several times I have been knocked or eased of on turn 1 and 4 and when I look the other drivers penalty free....
I thought the size of penalties was being reduced, this seems worse than before?

Got caught in a mess mid-pack in Race B. Received a 10 sec. penalty. Lost some DR but to my surprise, blue/no loss SR at the end. First time that's happened for me.

How are people saying the system is too sensitive? I rage quit an Interlagos race because I was being smashed all around and no one was getting penalties.

I'm A/S

Best is turn 4, you get pushed out, the guy that pushed you continue happily having use your car as brake and you get penalty because you ran wide.

I thought it was just my bad luck, yet out of the 18 races I ran on Nordschleife yesterday (sitting at home with a bad back) nearly half of them I ran with a 10 sec penalty on the clock, either from accidents or an inexperienced early braker suddenly braking outside braking zone. (the biggest risk when you don't qualify).
Clipping a car spinning out, they were already a lost cause or sometimes when they hit me they recovered while I went of f track 10 sec regardless.
Bumping the car in front that hit the car in front of them, no effect on positions or going off track, 10 sec regardless.
Bumping the early braker, no effect except putting them back at the correct speed for the section, 10 sec regardless.

Only in one case I had such an inexperienced driver in front of me that I inadvertently ended up bumping him off track. It was like he had never driven the track before braking and swerving all over the place, perhaps he was drunk.

I never got a red rating for any race though and the 10 sec was usually reduced to 5 sec or less by racing normally. That didn't used to happen. A lot of people were ghosting in and out inviting more risky "try to drive through ghost" behavior.

Meanwhile bumping people off the track sideways nearly always went penalty free. Small bumps from behind, 6 times in a row until the car behind finally managed to get me to go wide, no penalty. Putting a nose against my inside rear bumper and simply run me off in the corner, no penalty.

The update really is for the dirty drivers and carefully driving behind cars waiting for an opportunity to pass safely is the dangerous thing to do. Poke a nose on their side, run them off and you're golden. Being the unwilling third party in a bump is the way to get a 10 sec penalty. I'm guessing since the first bump doesn't register, the car that did the initial bump isn't flagged as having caused an accident. Which means that if you now bump that car due to his unexpected excessive sudden slowdown, you are seen as trying to punt them in the braking zone, 10 sec. The car messing up his braking goes free and gets his speed back from the car behind, the car in front of him is pushed wide, the car behind him gets 10 sec. That was my experience on Nordschleife yesterday.

Just had a rough one at Interlagos, Race C. I started on Pole. The race before ended dirty already and I didn't want to get my hopes up and expected more punting. Well, I was already hit in the back in the Senna S. Turn 3 was even more miserable, the Russian guy behind me again went full speed into me. I recovered perfectly though and used all my momentum to stay ahead. Some more bumbing with a Spaniard who lost control on the grass on the left after Turn 4. After that I stayed ahead and controlled the race without much problem. But man, that Russian guy was so dirty with the others as well. Punted one or two more off in the next lap, then I guess he accumulated such a big penalty that the game forced him to go slow. He finished the race 1 Lap behind. Oh, and I was the only one to finish the race without a penalty. SR B is quite an experience.

I'll upload the race later.

Waiting to see if two Swiss drivers won't show up as I'm top5 national. Heart beating fast. Not fast enough to have any chance of win but a top25 race would be a blast.

Doesn't work like that apparently, I need to get faster XD

Can anyone tell me if your DR stays the same or goes down if you quit on the matching screen in a daily?

Got my rating back to around the 27k mark, the highest it's been and did some practice laps around Interlagos earlier today.

After about 30-40 laps in a couple of different cars I got a very reasonable (for me) 2 seconds exactly away from the 3rd best emea time.

Matching screen comes up and I'm surprised to be in 14th in a room full of DR B.

The top ten in that lobby are all at least a second quicker and I have number 4 on my car.

15th and 16th are a tenth behind and the rest set no time.

Pretty sure I should've quit it straight away but did the race.

Crossed the line in 17th and came 16th due to a someone's penalty.

Lost nearly 900 DR....right before the Manufacturer's race I was about to do.

Thankfully got my points back and a little more in the Dragon Trail race. 👍

For what its worth I've been dumped more than once at the matching screen with a "Network Connection" error and have not seen any impact to DR or SR.

Never quit on purpose though. I do think you lose DR in the 2nd half of the field in FIA races though.

Cheers for the quick reply.

Seemed like a complete mismatch.

The FIA race I had number 20 on my car.

Qualified 5th and finished 4th.

Could of and should of had 3rd but crossed the line with one lap to go with 0.8 laps worth of fuel!!

Idiot!!

Love this. Only two Trophys on the grid.

Edit: This thing has torque. I thought those TT Cup cars were supposed to be fast. I was pulling it on the Infield straights. Then, I got bumped at the hairpin, by an NSX behind me and last a couple seconds to the leaders.

Yeah I think they broke the penalty system, barely touch someone 10 seconds, smash people off the road no penalty and track limits at Interlagos are pretty ridiculous as well

I'm A/S

I have experienced the same thing, instead of rage quitting which I wanted to do I finished it off and accepted the loss :( some days it's tough to have fun playing gts for sure

A good race I gain less than 100dr by finishing top 5 or win, and a bad one where I get smashed around by other a/s's and get 10 sec pens, I lose over 1000 dr in one race.

Oh also good to race with you in race b earlier today. I think you were one of the few that didn't run me off the road or rear end me into the sand at the hair pin

Today was a successful day of racing. I managed to grab three wins at Blue Moon Bay Infield A.

First race was at B/S where I started second and out dueled a Lamborghini and was promoted back to A/S

After attempting (and rage quitting) a wreckfest at Interlagos, my Sr fell to A. I went back to BMB where my lowered Sr gave me the pole and my second win. The win returned me to A/S.

The third race saw me qualify 3rd. First and second decided this was GTA and slammed each other lap after lap. On the final lap, the driver in second got a penalty (amazingly all the slamming they did to each other did NOT lead to a penalty...) Once he got a penalty on the final lap, he threw the race and dumped the leader. I drove on by for the win. It was pathetic and I can't believe they were not penalized before that. I'm planning on uploading the video later.

Just gifted an "OyVey"ron. Going to try it in Race B. This will be a first race ever with this car. Wish me luck. I'm going in...

Edit: Oh well, it was all fine until I got 10 seconds(there wehmt my 4 race clean streak), for a whisker of supposedly contact, with a Slophy. I rode the penalty to the end and just finished in pit lane.

I out my hand up, but this player in an Atenza, kept making contact. First me at T1 and then after passing me, C on tact with the Slophys ahead. It made a mistake and I ran it down into T1. From there, I caught a 458 that had an off. So, I tailgate for the last lap, until I pulled off in the pits.

Steering the "OyVey"ron, reminded me of that scene in 2012. The one where the Russian pilot is trying pull up the Antonov.
I even said," Turn, turn, with those big vershashez!" or whatever that actor said.

I did 3 races at Interlagos, my worst track, didn't get very far without qualifying as my best lap is only 1:33 and change. After racing GR.1 yesterday for almost 9 hours, GR.3 felt so slow and sluggish I kept going wide and gathered up 12 sec in 'shortcut' penalties on my first race. The track limits have changed a lot on Interlagos. Not that it helped any for my lack of speed on that track. I lost over 2K DR and am almost back to DR.B now.

The races themselves were actually quite well behaved in T1, however during the race the sneaky positioning forcing people out and repetitively knocking on the rear bumper were more prevalent than ever. I guess PD was successful in replacing the dive bomb with the classic GT cornering technique using the outside car as a guard rail. This time no penalties, just the 'shortcut' penalties after being forced wide.

I fired up Infield after, did a test run as there was still a lot of time left before the race and turned it off as GR.4 after GR.1 is like watching paint dry. I'm out for today.

I agree. Yeah, I did do one race at Interlagos, just to pass some time. A Beetle kept dive bombing. Even though there was bit of room each time, Still, with these cars, you gotta give people room to correct slight misjudges.

Yeh, they changed the track limits a while back, about the time they introduced Cirque du Soleil, and made them way harsh. Arias of the track that were intended as run off are now penalty zones. The one I was having a hard time with was after T1/2. During qualifying I managed ok, but during the race, regardless of what condition my tires were in, I kept straying , maybe getting a couple of tyres on the green :scared:. That was enough for penalties, and that was nearly every lap. If I slowed enough to actually make it, I got knocked by other drivers into that zone, and *still* get the penalty :odd:!

And everybody is cutting during qualyfing in Monza, and the races are a mess...............of course :yuck: still I now need one pole and one victory for the trophies :D

For "those" players, please, either learn to use the Slophy or don't use it. Those that have no race craft are all over the joint with those cars.

I started from the back. Over the first two laps, those Slophys were spinning out, bumping people off. When they started moving up from the back, it doesn't men us at the back are given a blue flag. Pass cleanly! Ridiculousness.

Maaate. Clearly you don't understand the rules of racing. The rules of racing state "terra nullautomobilus" (a bit like terra nullius). You are the only car on the track and therefore anything else you encounter isn't really there and you are free to drive through it. :D
