Sarthe was a bit of a mixed bag last night. First I raced with the R92CP without qualifying. Lovely to drive yet pretty much everyone else was in Hybrids so I never met anyone to race. Sometimes that was some leap frog in the the straights yet by the Porsche curves the hybrids simply increased the distance and were gone again. No close racing if you're the only one in a completely different car.

So I tried the R18, what a fuel hog. I was competitive at map 1, yet driving AT that meant it can only do less than 2.5 laps on a tank and having to drop to map 3 in a room full of short shifters, game over. I finished last with the Audi. Thus 919, that still required driving in map 2 for nearly 3 laps. Start in map 2, draft as much as possible and switch to map 1 in lap 3. Tank 72% of fuel for 2 more laps in map 1. It worked at least.

It still took a couple of boring races until finally some people came on with similar speed as me. I also started qualifying to increase my chances of hanging on by drafting in the first two laps. A 3:25 qualify lap only got me in the back field though, not that I had any chance keeping up with the front anyway. Finishing close to the time out was pretty much the norm, at least I didn't have to wait long for results confirmed...

Close to mid night I finally got to race some people instead of mostly driving by myself. Of course then my internet started crapping out. After getting disconnected from 2 races in a row I gave up. Frustrating night. 3.4K DR down over all and I apparently lost 1 SR in the last disconnect that happened in lap 2.

No penalties though the entire night apart from those short cut penalties when giving another car a bit too much room.I did get bumped, punted off and bump passed, no clue if they got a penalty as every car on the track was driving with flashing penalty signs anyway. It was rare to see someone without a red dot at the result screen which I didn't manage more than once or twice either as a 0.428 sec penalty for no clue what would pop up occasionally. The most annoying thing was a few people figured out how to drive through other cars without anyone ghosting first, blinding you when they draft through you.

Hopefully GR.2 on the mountain will give me closer competition. Is it another fuel save run? :/

I have zero luck at Bathurst, I play monday through thursday night and NEVER get bathurst, ever, it's infuriating.

X-Bow was fun last night, decent racing and the car moving about a bit made for some exciting battles.

Yesm. Using AT is going to be tough.

As for my run at Bathurst, it was a bit of a disaster. I did some qualifying laps and started the race in P8. If I finished there, I'd be content. There was an alien and an alien's apprentice in the first two slots, then Cs and Ds with a couple of Bs thrown in.

Auto drive dumps me and off we go. I took my usual defence at T1 up the inside. Bad move. I got hit by cars turning in to me and was rewarded with an orange SR. My slow exit also saw me passed on Mountain strait by 3 cars, then I was mugged at Griffins, then finally gang banged at Reid Park. After being rear ended, by one car, t-boned by the next car and finally spun out by a third car I was limping back onto the track in P18:banghead:. The spin seemed to have done something to the handling because the car was sliding all over the place. By the time I got onto Conrod, I was sitting on 9s of penalties .

I managed to get up to P16 when I came across one of those people who would not let me by. He kept blocking me, and when I did managed to get side by side, even when I was slightly ahead and on the inside he was still trying to turn into me. The shenanigans were holding me up. I was so focused on this joker that I wasn't short shifting like I need to with the NSX and had to pit on lap 4, along with the drongo.

I managed to pit without running into the back of him or getting re-spawned back onto the track, and took on a full load... 4.5 laps worth. With 5 laps to go I came out of the pits behind the drongo and did the shortish shifting thing. Eventually drongo self destructed and I could get on with my race. In the end I ran out of time before the finish line and placed P10 when the dust settled . I had a 4s penalty when the race stopped, yet only a red dot and no time was mentioned on the race board at the end.

DR dropped by less than 100, so not too bad. SR stayed at 96. Another day visiting DR/C.

Hmm, that’s odd. I used the R18 all day yesterday at Sarthe and didn’t have to save fuel at all. I experimented a little with pitting after 2 laps because I saw some aliens doing it, but I actually had more luck pitting after 3. I usually had .1 laps of fuel left after 3. Oh and I also use AT, so no short shifting and no mapping. Not sure why you had to conserve...?

Race A - Audi TTS Coupe '14 - 5 Laps at Tokyo Central Outer Loop
Race B - GR 4 - 4 Laps at Suzuka Circuit
Race C - GR 2 - 9 Laps at Mount Panorama [Fuel x 8, Tires x 10]

Very cool races today.

I see that Race B is also a One Make*

Hmm, the R18 (Wait, there are 2 of them, did @Sven Jurgens use the '11 model or the '16 model?) is/was fairly fuel efficient in reality. It got, on avg, 7 MPG. Granted, the fuel consumption setting was jacked, but still.

As is Daily C. Essentially an RC F one make. I was the only NSX in Bathurst and there was one other GT-R vs 18 RC F's. Safe to say I got trounced lol. NSX could do with a 7th gear or longer ratios as it pretty much maxes out by the time it gets up the hill on the back straight.

Good point. I was using the ‘16. I’m not sure which Sven was using, but I’m assuming the ‘11 now that you mention it.

I am guilty of going to the Lexus as my go to with Group 2 races. I do own (Hell, I even bought it) an NSX and I do like it. However, I have more confidence that the Lexus won't spin out on me.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I must have picked the older one since I saw two and picked the one further down the list that looked 'nicer'. I thought it was just a duplicate from the daily gift, never bothered to look at the stats.

I'll be driving the au tom's tonight as I know that has the best fuel consumption of the GR.2 cars, at least it did so far lol. NSX always runs out.

Hasn't been a Slophy Cup in my races. Sure, there are about 3-4 each race, but pretty diverse group of cars.
Since starting my game over, I'm just using all the RWD cars. Racing all 14 one time and I'm done, until the new Gr. 4 Daily.

They really must adjust bop on megane trophy. There is no sense that race B is one make again.

But anyway, my impression is that the new penalty system works better. Not only the minor contacts are not punished unnecessaryly anymore, meanwhile the sports mode players are way more experienced compared to the first months, so more or less everybody tries to avoid contact anyway.

The last days I had races in lower DR levels and I was surprised how disciplined the races have become. Month ago you could be sure that you'll be kicked off while braking down from higher speed, but now its really rare.

DR B drivers today seem to be much more skilled than in the beginning times. There is not that mach gap to A/A+ drivers like before

If they are going to make us race street cars on the Tokyo expressway, could they have the decency to either let us use soft tires, or cut down on the nonsensical 5 sec penalties??

Nevermind.. I forgot..drifting is the key! Came in 4th...oh so close to a podium.

Silly question about DR..is it cumulative thing? Or does it reset to the lowest number for your current ranking everyday?

Here's my best lap for Race A of 1:28.995 which is ranked eighth worldwide. I use automatic transmission, PS4 controller, and for this instance no Countersteer Assist.

A lot has changed since the closed beta days with this car and track combination.

In my races today, I've seen M4's and TT's win the race in a room dominated by Megane's. Hell, I've even passed and beaten a boat load in my Atenza. Just because a room is full of Megane's doesn't mean it's the best car. It's a sheep car, that's all, and the majority of the drivers are Lemmings......they fall off at the first corner!

Exactly. 16 races(I even used the Slophy properly) average start position was from 6th-10th and I've beaten them with each different car.

Winners were Citroen, M4, F-Type. An "OyVey"ron won as well. The Slophy has downforce, but RWD cars with torque, like my RC F, Mustang and Viper, just eat those things like Pringle's.

Ooh I can do that, no walls to slow ya down...

Mount Panorama GR.2, what a great combo, I could race that all night. And that's what I did.

I jumped in without qualifying, finished 6th, 11 positions up, so I qualified to finish 5th lol. Yet after that I got 2nd and plenty more podiums / good finishes. And Lucky for me the aliens left one little hole in their arranged schedule for me to pick up
DlRc.jpg

The rest of the night the closest I got to Nr 1 was a 9 second gap. With my best lap of the night a 1:54.8 I wasn't going to win against the pros.

The races were generally clean, though not when starting down at 12th. There's something about the backfield that makes people very impatient. I managed to keep my nose clean until the last race. I guess I shouldn't race after 2 am :/

In the last race I nick the grass on the downhill in lap 1, lose control and take out 2nd. I get a 3 sec penalty for that, he loses a few places, I drop to 12th into the mess. Lap 2 downhill, I'm about to overtake an unstable driver, nick the bloody grass again trying to stay away from him and there I go again, luckily not hitting anyone this time, just taking a slow tour around the yard. In lap 3, trying to pass the same car on the downhill, this time I'm firmly positioned on the road, brake in time, I'm half a car ahead at corner entry and he turns into me while I'm half way up the kerb already. We both stay on the road, 4 sec penalty for me.... No more contacts for the rest of the race, I finish 5th, first race where I lose a position (started 4th), and down to 85 SR from 99 for those 2 penalties, ugh.

One race too many. Oh well, DR up 8K, just shy of 40K. Fix SR tomorrow.

Well there we goes my Clean streak. I got to 6 and all it took, was one player to smash up my back, at Dragons Trail.

I think this player, only come out of their cave, to use this car.

Ah, that guy again
I was planning to run Monza. Maybe not anymore

Looks at Daily Race C
Me: Hmm, not sure I like the look of Monza. Always ends up a crash fest.
Game: Go on, it will be fine.
Me: But I will just lose loads of SR and spend the rest of the day trying to get it back
Game: Nah, it'll be full of AS drivers and they wont slam into you at the 1st corner
Me: Are you sure?
Game: You'll be fine :)

2 Races Later where I was taken out at the 1st corner

Me: You Bar-steward! You said I would be fine!!
Game: HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA!!!!!

Note: Don't think you can no-stop the race. Think it is best to just refuel but not change tyres.

And which version of Dragon Trail?
Original track.

I tell you, "The freaks come out at night! The freaks come out!". I had a decent day of racing at Suzuka. In one fell swoop, all that went to pot.
I think I'm just going to hot lap and look at the replays.
