Just logged in to see what people are doing to post 2.12 laps in Race A. I always expect to be 1.5-2 seconds off the Top 10 times. But not 4-5 seconds when it’s basically a flat-out blast in a hot-hatch.

I set a 2:15.4 with a couple of mistakes so I figured I could probably sneak into 2:14 with a more consistent lap but couldn't quite get there in the time I gave myself.

Now seeing how people are able to get seconds below this makes me laugh. There just aren't seconds in it without something radically different going on. Like corner cutting. The cats out of the bag so I expect the top 10 to be filled with rally crossers any time now.

Race A should probably be avoided until they fix it.

Race A is bonkers! As an average to poor driver, I may as well take the week off or just accept that I'm going to be at D and E more often than not.

But what the hell, it's still fun!

On the plus side, if you are referring to DR and not SR, you can't go down to E. Once you hit D, no matter how crap you finish, you can't go down to E. 👍.

I'm not going anywhere near race A again. That shopping trolley is atrocious to drive and the lobbies are filled with wet blankets.

Clio Cup at the mountain is as enjoyable and exiting as daytime TV.

I really like driving the Tokyo track but I keep getting tapped into the wall and in the braking zones. You're lucky to escape with a loss of momentum and a 5 second penalty. More often the rear end goes full Salmon on you and you end up nose against the wall with 20 seconds lost and a 5 second penalty.

Which other racing games are good on the PS4?

Had a few interesting races.

Wanted to try my updated livery on the mountain. Got kicked. May as well call it a night.

The funny thing is I've been rammed off and crashed into by Americans just as much as these southern people
Same goes for Italians and Spaniards

In the same token one of the better battles I had in the US region was against a Brazilian of all people

There are different people in any country. When I still blocked people that rammed me off I did notice that when I blocked an American, there was a 1 in 4 chance they had Spanish listed as one of their languages ;) No clue what the actual percentage of Spanish speakers is in the status yet likely less than a fourth.

Oh, it's actually 17.8% Spanish speakers in USA, that's not far off. You learn something new every day!

Anyway I've had plenty clean battles with any nationality, I rely more on recognizing names of problem cases than their flag. Plus lag and car choice are a better indication who to look out for as well. South Americans unfortunately never have better connections than 3 bars and most of them do not drive accordingly to compensate for the lag. You can not drive door to door with 3 bars on a high speed track without it resulting in the occasional bump. So, yes, when I start in the middle of a pack of yellow connections, I do get more worried about T1 than when they're all green connections.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you watch out for potential dirty drivers. Not by flag nor nationality, but by potential lag spikes and by name

Interesting on the Spanish part though. Didn't know many Americans speak Spanish

I noticed you got disconnected from the Race B I did.

Anyway, was not pole, started 2nd, won and picked up around 450 DR.

For sure. North, Central and South.

Yeah, I pulled over, to let everyone pass, once it dropped. One of the players apologised to me for bumping me, but I let him know it was my fault, due to bad connection.

I dunno about that. I still find I get tagged by those running a Hong Kong flag more than any other nationality. You run under a Hong Kong flag in Asia, doncha Alpha? :sly:
Nu uh, he runs under a Singaporean flag because his actual country is not available in the account creation screen...

Might be quicker if you were to ask for the list of flags @Alpha Cipher does not fly.

Not that I have an issue with it.
Funnily enough I do have an HK account, although that was my old AMS one

This sadly :(

I don't believe that's true. Those folks just naturally have a different, more passionate and hotheaded temperament compared to, for example, scandinavians. What we northern folks perceive as reckless and dirty they oftentimes deem as norm. We are more closed off i guess, quite cool, calm and avoid conflicts.

I think you just proved his point. All countries have naughty and nice drivers but there is a difference

Man Bathurst is tough with a controller. Absolutely zero consistency, I managed a 15.8 but optimal is a 14.8 and my next fastest lap is an 18.2!!

Yeh

I seem to recall him posting he was under a HK flag for nostalgic reasons. Something to do with a previous version I think.
Yeah my original original name in my PS3 days was JericSM (An amalmagation of my dad's name since he set up my PSN back then). Back then Singapore isn't what defaults to our country, but HK. So when I made my AMS account I remembered those days and went back to HK :)
come think of it, that makes my total tally of accounts to 6

It´s sad that in general Race A and B are massive SR and DR killers for 70.000+ drivers, because of smaller field and less laps.
After the second week with combo in Race C that didn't fit me i started the B-Race at Bathurst.
I gained between 20-100 points for a victory but lost about 100-200 points for every position below. So a 4th place equals to -500 points. Also one small penalty needs 2-3 clean races to recover SR.
As i chosed the Mustang instead of the Megane all those FWD cars tried to attacked on the straights and i got pushed of the track several times.
At the end of the day i did between 15-20 races, had a lot of fun, won half of them but lost more than 2000 DR points in total... :ouch:

Here is one of the races i got pushed from track and tried to save as many positions as possible within 2 laps.

My bad experiences involving collisions and shove-offs are usually (still, but not as frequent as before) people with Brazillian and Argentinian flags.

I'm very tempted to try race B. Done a qually of 2.13.2xx

I can just picture it being dive bomb central and penalties galore.

Anybody DR:A SR:S tried it yet?

Nah it's been pretty good, i ran four races last night without issue. Just watch T1 and you should be OK. A 13.2 is solid, that's really moving.

How is the Megane so fast on the straight vs a mustang? You should be eating them alive in a straight line.

So much crappy driving, the usual "pass at any cost" mentality. Morons.

The mighty Mountain has struck again! With a pretty average qualifying time, I was placed in P4/16. Race time that changed to P2/11!

The race gets underway and the trophy in P1 doesn't manage to get the same punch out of Hell Corner as I do and I find myself in that most strange of positions of leading the race :scared:. I had a comfy enough lead coming up to Griffins that I wasn't going to get rear ended by my slow in fast out style. I was doing fine across the top of the mountain. Screwed up my braking for Skyline and just about strait lined it with the rears locked up. Penalty for me and rightly so. Then I scrapped the wall on Forrest Elbow which really screwed me for Conrod, and down to P3 as I was passed. I nearly caught up with them till I messed up Forest Elbow *again* :banghead:. I was nailing it during qualifying:odd:.

I crossed the line P3 but dropped to P4 because of the penalty. Fair enough :yuck:. Interestingly the guy who ended up in P3 started P10 with no qualifying and set the fastest lap. He/She was another Viper driver. I think I managed an "Almost!" before they left post race.

And the damage? Since I hit no one and apparently strait lining Skyline doesn't make me "look bad", no loss of SR. DR went up 400ish. The judges say "one more time!" . I'm expecting loss of SR and DR fro a second race.

Did they fix the latest penalty glitch where your Sr drops when being bumped from behind even in the straits? Or is that Tuesdays when they attempt to fix their mistakes

Thanks for that mate. I'll dive in later n see how it goes. That time came with the GTR. Feels really good round the mountain. I recommend it.

I like your title sequence!
Completely know what you mean about the risk/reward balance being very out of kilt with fewer laps and smaller fields too; running into B-rank Fuvaros doesn't help either :D:lol:

Lap 1 Conrod blocking, kind of feel you forced the issue with that contact, either choose left or right not the middle.

As the lead car, they can choose whatever line they want as long as they're not weaving and blocking. It's the car behind that has to pass cleanly, which it didn't, by forcing the issue on the inside.
