I know I was may be too close but I thought he would get into the normal racing line which would give me space. I decided to "dirt-ride" to stay away, but still...?? Don't know?
Should've just punted them as soon as they made it clear that they were a rammer. You still take the SR down but at least you feel better knowing that you've ruined a dirty rammers race in the process.

As for the other topic of discussion, Race C is a one-stop on Softs unless you're lining up out of position on the grid. Between the tyre difference and the fuel saving it's going to be hard to go faster on a zero-stop even if you somehow make the Mediums last.

The first in America's ranking for racing B (RBR) is going waaaay outside the track in the first and last corners... when, by mistake, I went a lot less outside, Ive took lots of penalties, I cant understand that.

It seems so random, most of the time you can go way out in T1 as long as you don't go right out there, like all on the white stuff but sometimes you get a penalty. The last turn is opposite, usually going wide into the green (even slightly less) is a penalty but sometimes it's not for some reason.

I second the post about qualifying to the best of your ability too. I tried one race with an average Q time and got battered about by the usual dive bombing Megane drivers who then are so hard to re-pass due to it's straight line speed and they are so slow in the corners it's like driving behind the A.I.

Thanks for the response JayOOT, I just have a hard time taking someone off even if I see clearly that they are of NON racing experienced human race..... Cheers.

The guy that was in first position sooner almost touched the wall in the first corner

That's usually a penalty, they got lucky that it was allowed but going that far out will not be faster I wouldn't have thought. I've had a few laps disallowed for going just over the curbs here though, there's no 100% guarantee it'll allow or disallow any lap if you go wide it seems.

Green hell is worth all that! Natural habitat! Just a rhyme with out a reason... Yes, the master of puppets N24 calls to me. Did qualy on softs, and that had me starting P4/17 on a grid of mostly DR/Ds, with As in P1 and P2. There were a couple of Bs, who hadn't qualified, so you know they will just be crashing their way through, because the rest of us aren't realy there . P11-17 were non-qualifiers.

Auto drive cuts out and a car behind me has more speed coming up to T1 and passes, then I get punted at T1 and stop just short of hitting the wall. By the time I gathered myself up I re-entered P7. I was knocked off track 2 more times, and pushed aside by one of those DR/Bs in a Pug. He'd left carnage behind before he came crashing through at the chicane between the GP track and the Nordschleife. By the time I hit the Nordschleife I was in P10 . I managed to get through to the pit stop.

Stupid me had decided to do a lap or two on hards after qualifying on softs just to get a feel for the change for the race. I didn't have time when I entered to change to mediums for the race. I was running close to fumes when I came in to pit, so the M3 isn't exactly frugal without short shifting. Noticed too late there was a tyre selection, because I was under the impression that on pit you were only going to be given the choice of hards. Re-entered in P8 which is where I finished. I was so close to getting that bozo in the Pug, but I messed up the crucial corner Dottinger Hohe and the bugger got away :grumpy:.

Got back 2 of my SR and 400 DR. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

N24 is back! After a month back to racing and of course I get the typical GT welcome back pat on the back at T1 with a 4 sec penalty from someone not braking in time. I didn't qualify so I could start last yet that doesn't work on N24 as 60% didn't qualify for the race.

It feels weird to race again, it all feels kinda off. Mind you, I'm on painkillers and have to race standing up as I just got my back x-rayed since it's not getting any better sigh. Plus I got a new controller for BF which I'll have to get used to again. Slightly different dead zones and normally functioning triggers for gas and brake. (The others were well worn out and patched to sort of still go 0 to 100 on a much smaller trajectory)

In the end I mostly kept it on the road, finished 9th, red S, only -1 SR luckily. I'll try another one, Corvette up next.

I went wide 3 times, got a 5 sec penalty every time for brushing a wall instead of rocketing back on the track into another car... Finished 11th. SR back to 99. DR in free fall. I noticed I'm the only one on hard tires. Perhaps that's why I can't match their lines! Try mediums next.

The first corner is kind of weird, the races I did from the back of the grid had everybody protecting the inside line so the whole lane got bottled up. I was braking later than you would on a hot lap and as far to the left as possible, you end up on a crap line for turn 2 but you're parked on the apex so there is not a fat lot anybody can do about it. One race I started 9th and was 3rd by the time we got out of the double hairpin.

Goddammit I forgot how **** the tarmac on the Nordscheleife is, my 911 keeps bouncing up and down.

Is there any Gr3 car that handles road imperfections a little better?

Been a long time since I've raced GT Sport, and wow the tyre model has changed things! So much understeer  managed a 1:35.716 for race B but there's atleast another tenth in there so expecting to drop a few places until i can be bothered to find it..

Won’t be home from work for a while...

What’s the leaderboard for race B looking like? Keen to know the meta car for this one

Most people seem to be using the huracan at the moment. 1st is an evo though.
Anyway, nice to be back, its been a while :gtpflag:

Edit - found the tenth 1:35.619 but optimum is a 35.5xx grrrrr

Managed to do about 10 laps qualifying on race B before falling asleep and driving off the road into the kitty litter :lol::lol::lol:
Looks like one big crash fest for this race anyway, so I will be taking the week off.
I wonder what the races will be for next week ??????

That's what I did and got hit. It's a messy corner.

3rd race I took myself out early to avoid someone braking early. Climbed back from last to finish, for the first time, in 8th place. Still 50 sec behind first yet at least not timed out! No penalties this time, improvement. I did get taken out, correct car got the penalty.

Got a halfway decent Q time for race b, and most people are clean fun, but then I come across a manipulator of time penalty that likes to ghost at just the right time to effectively destroy a pass.

I anxiously await this new penalty system.

So so frustrating for now. I like racing competitors. It will be great to see a ghoster have to serve their penalty in1 section.

Racers with 3 seconds penalty should not be able to screw your race.

FR cars tend to fare better, but if you're looking for the best in this department, it's either the Mitsubishi or Subaru. Both are essentially the Group B models converted to Group 3 spec. This doesn't necessarily make them faster over the entire lap than the 911, but on a track like this the fastest car is the one you're comfortable driving.

Had a car stuck between the last 2 corners at RBR, wasn't ghosted but you could drive through it, not seen that before.

Foolishly after drinking 1/2 a bottle of wine I did have one particularly bad race last night. But it was a 4th place finish to Brazilians and Patagonians. Come to think of it I don't think I've had any 3rds yet.
That's my downfall.

4th race on soft tires. What a difference. I'm leaving the pack in my dust in the first half, up to 4th place no problem. Then, oops, no tires left for the last third. Second lap I was better prepared for the huge change in tires over the lap. Finished 5th, no penalties, yet two SR Downs. One from a car tapping my rear and one coming out of the pit. No clue why, I went into it same as always, didn't hit anything. Is their an entry speed limit now? It didn't matter, still blue S.

5th race disconnected while loading. That made the experience complete. Time to lay down and give my back some rest. Perhaps I should mount the tv on the ceiling :)

Exactly! Bulls eye! :) Cheers

What a pleasant surprise this Dragon Trail II race has been, some of my best races since I got the game even finishing at 8+. People shouldn't be so judgemental of a track or combo before at least giving it a couple of tries.
GI love the track but I'm terribly slow here.

Nice time, I should be able to get to a 1:35.9 or so but 1:35.5-7 is too quick for me I suspect. Need a little more race pace too, basically I need to find some magic to make me quicker.

Been a while since i drove at the Nurburgring. The green hell is so much fun, i am having a blast just driving it in qualy mode, fighting the track. I am at 8:05.5 right now in the M6.

So the softs last a lap ? Anyone tried the mediums yet ?

I read all these times and desperately look at my 8:57 on the Nordschleife which I achieved driving as hard as I could.

I think I should lobby for a raceable GT3 Safety car with working rotating beacons

Seriously, I keep wondering where those additional (or rather: less) seconds are to be found. I feel slow. Slower as usual.:odd:

My thoughts on all tracks after qualifying on all of them after 8 laps(3 for N24)

Race A: Tokyo Central Outer Loop, VW 1200.

This may sound weird, but I actually enjoy driving the VW 1200 bug a lot, and the Central Loop somehow suits it, it's a slow car that you rarely needs to use the brakes, just slow down and gently apply your steering imput and the car won't slide much, I managed to do all 8 laps in succession without a single penalty, which is a first for me.

Race B: Red Bull Ring, Gr. 4

So far I only used the Cayman on this track since I haven't used it yet...It feels like the car is overall too slow for the track straights, next time I'm qualifying on my V8 Vantage GT4 to see if that improves a little.

Race C: Nurburgring 24 hours layout, Gr. 3

Ohh boy, I do love this track but I hate using anything above GT4 on it, my 911 's suspension can't handle the bad roads and I wipedout too many times on the Nordscheleife, following @JayOTT suggestion I will bring my Lancer Gr3 and see if that car fares better. I did score a 8:38 with my 911 on racing softs...Which is terrible, so I'm trying again.

I haven't raced on any race yet, I might take on Race B first since I just prefer Gr4 over Gr3, followed right after Race A.

Huh ?

I wanted to do some race simulation for Race C but i cant seem to set tyre and fuel correct

Tyre wear max is 3× and fuel is 2× in custom race mode. Am i missing something ?

What Brake balance are you using? @Philtaylor17

Epic time

Yes this. I've been messing with mine but nothing seems perfect, I think I had it on -3 when I set my best lap which is now a scruffy 1:36.0, optimum is a 1:35.77x, but it's unlikely I'll get that, too easy to make an error pushing that hard, I'd be delighted if I can just get under the 1:36 mark.
